If you've ever wondered what happens backstage at Disney's Animal Kingdom you can find out thanks to the Backstage Tales tour. This tour gives guests the chance to see how Disney studies, cares for, and helps educate guests about the animals who call the theme park home.
Backstage Tales is a nearly four-hour tour on foot and by vehicle through Disney's Animal Kingdom with stops at Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, the black rhino and elephant barns, the Animal Nutrition Center, the Animal Programs Administration building, and more.
Guests will learn about the bird species on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, and how the rhinos and elephants behave and how they are tended to by the cast members. The tour also stops at the park's veterinary center where guests will learn about the methods used by keepers and vets to care for the animals.
This tour replaces the former Backstage Safari and is offered from 7:30 to 11:15 a.m. each day for guests ages 12 and older. Reservations can be made by calling 407-939-8687. Theme park admission is not included in the tour. Admission price for the Backstage Tales tour is $90 per person.
Part of the proceeds from the Backstage Tales tour supports the Disney Conservation Fund.
