Petals Poolside Bar at Pop Century Resort

Continuing on our tour of Walt Disney World's Bars and Lounges our next stop is the fresh, fun, Petals Pool Bar at The Pop Century Resort. Remember when you could grab a drink and play ping-pong with your buddies in the basement all night? This brings back that young at heart feeling, without the cramped basement. Petals is located near the 1960's Hippy Dippy pool, and this nostalgic poolside bar can help you quench your thirsty with frozen, on-the-rocks, and non-alcoholic drink cocktails.

The only bar at Pop Century Resort, if you're looking to imbibe slip on your swim suit and stroll down for some fun in the sun. Petals opens daily at 12:00PM, but the closing time will vary depending on the crowd and season. The brightly color motifs reminisce of 60's cocktail culture with a swinging summer flair.

There is no food served at Petals, but once you grab a table you can jaunt over to the Everything Pop Food Court and return to enjoy your meal of snacks under the palm trees.

Petals Pool Bar offers a wide variety of nostalgic concoctions with names like the 'Lava Lamp' and 'Hula Hoop'. There's also the frozen delight titled the 'Orange Dream'. Nothing quite brings me back to my youth like the summery good taste of a Creamsicle. Smoothies, vitamin waters, and Monster energy drinks keep it interesting for the non-drinkers and little ones in your party. A variety of beers by bottle or on tap are also available at Petals, as are standard Disney Sangria, Chardonnay Merlot and a Pinot Grigio.

Up for a Game of Ping-Pong at Petals?Up for a Game of Ping-Pong at Petals?
Are you looking for a little more poolside entertainment? A ping-pong table near you may want to play your buddies for who will buy the next round! Giving it a go is just a matter of picking up the paddles snagging a ball for $.25. The hair wrap station will adorn beautiful locks with colorful bands and beads. Or if you're the tough kind you can even get a tattoo. Try on a Mickey to see how it feels, but don't worry they're only temporary tattoos and wash off in a few days.

Thanks so much to the Pop Century Site, for offering us research and the Disney Food Blog for exclusive permission to use their fantastic photos. Have you stayed at Pop Century? Is Petals on of your favorite watering holes? Leave us a note and tell us what you love best about this fun bar.

While I miss the inside bar "Classic Concoctions" that was also at Pop Century when it first opened, I do like Petals.
It's superior to the pool bars over at the All-Star Resorts, which are simply built as add-ons to the food court.
Petals has it's own building, and a great outside atmosphere.

The drinks are great but what makes Petals really stand out are the bartenders. Who hasn't had fun hanging with Jonny, Dee, Bobby, and Gordo?! :)
