According to an online report, popular jazz musician Elliot Dyson, who regularly performs at the Port Orleans Scat Cats Club, has been laid off by Disney.

If you're looking for a "revved up" way to celebrate Father's Day this year, start your engines and head over to Downtown Disney West Side for Car Masters Weekend.

This classic car show "with a modern twist" is planned for June 14-16, and will feature more than 150 classic, muscle, and exotic cars. The event is also showcasing Disney-Pixar's Cars movies " giving guests the chance to meet raceway stars Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Finn McMissle from Cars 2.

Hand Drawn Animators Included in Layoffs at The Walt Disney Company

During the past couple of weeks reports began surfacing about impending staff cuts at The Walt Disney Company, and by the end of the week the cuts became official as nine veteran animators from the hand drawn animation team were let go.

Tom Bancroft, a former Disney animator, tweeted out the names of the animators from his personal account on April 11. Several online sites also listed the names. The veteran hand drawn artists who lost their jobs are: Nik Ranieri, Ruben Aquino, Frans Vischer, Russ Edmonds, Brian Ferguson, Jamie Lopez and Dan Tanaka.

New Updates Coming for This Year's Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights

For many guests, it's a holiday must-do tradition, and this year, there are a few changes to help enhance the experience. We're talking of Disney Hollywood Studio's Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Since starting way back in 1995, the show has continued to evolve; today, it boasts more than 5 million lights (all energy-efficient LED) and continues to pull in enhancements such as images and music from Disney's "Prep and Landing."

New Entertainment Fastpass To Be Tested At Magic Kingdom

Word out of Walt Disney World has it that the Magic Kingdom will be the spot for a new Fastpass trial this month. During March, Disney will be testing their famous Fastpass system with their nighttime entertainment.

Cast members will distribute the Fastpasses by hand to guests on random days in March between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Guests lucky enough to be a part of the experiment will be able to return to the Castle hub at the time printed on the Fastpass. From there, the cast members will be on hand to help direct guests in order to watch that night's fireworks show or nighttime parade.

St. Patrick's Day Offerings At Raglan Road

It might not be for a few weeks yet, but Ragland Road is busy preparing for a three day celebration of St. Patrick's Day that will include a special menu and live entertainment.

Thursday, March 15, is the kick-off date with a lunch at the restaurant prepared and demonstrated by Chef Kevin Dundon. Guests can taste each course, including hickory-smoked Irish salmon, roasted tomato and gin soup, and panna cotta, with wine pairings. Cost is $45 per person, and reservations can be made through the Walt Disney World Dining Line: 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3563).

Movie Buzz: Disney Developing Detective Movie

For those of you who like Disney and to watch detectives at work on the big screen, you're in luck. Looks like Disney has acquired an untitled project that will feature a reluctant female detective.

The project is to be penned by Ashley Bradley, a relatively unknown and untried screenwriter. Marc Guggenheim, best known for co-writing "The Green Lantern," is also on board as producer as part of Collider Entertainment.

Collider Entertainment was launched at last year's Comi-Con; this is the first project on tap at a studio for that fledgling company.
