2 Mini Day Trip Reports in 1!

So not sure if you all remember me posting a few weeks ago about doing a monorail crawl without the alcohol.. well I did it! We went about two weeks ago (sorry I'm posting this so late, been so busy).

My friends and I met up at DTD and mind you, one of them has never been to Disney before, or Florida for that matter and my other friend did the Disney College Program for 6 months about 3 years ago so he's been there, done that and his wife now works for the World so he knows it all.

So we met up at DTD and walked around World of Disney for awhile, we're all on a budget so we weren't looking for souvenirs and Tyler (the one who has never been) wasn't too interested in souvenirs anyway so we went over to Earl of Sandwhich since Tyler nor I have ever had it and OH MY was it amazing!! Soooo good. Peter and I both got the italian sandwich and I got a side of potato salad, and Tyler got the meatball sandwich which he said was awesome. Then we went over to Goofy Candy Company where I got a white chocolate cover pretzel- I have a big sweet tooth, and who doesn't love salty and sweet in one yay that was yummy. They didn't get anything again, didn't really get much the whole day lol.. then we left Goofy Candy Co and Tyler seemed bored so we started our hoppin!

We went over to the bus stop and tried to figure out which resort we wanted to do first and we finally decided on Art of Animation. I love the bus transportation, it's so convenient and fun. We got to AOA and walked around for awhile- sooo much fun, I loved all the themeing. Peter loves Cars so he was in heaven with the Car section and I love Finding Nemo so I loved that. As you walk around the buildings they have signs with little fun facts on them- so cute! and so fun to read and learn all about. It's so crazy how Disney puts SO much thought into all of their movies and everything they do. I took a picture of pretty much every sign near the Finding Nemo buildings, I'll post a few later awesome then we took the bridge over to POP. Walked around a bit, decided whether or not to dip our feet in the pool since we were sweating our buns off but decided not to since Tyler was wearing sneakers and didn't want the lifeguards getting angry. So we walked around and went inside to get a drink. The man at the cash register was so grumpy! Ugh made me angry. I was asking him how much the refillable mugs were cause I was kind of interested since I knew we were going to a bunch of resorts and I could use it but he was a total grump and made me feel dumb. Asked how long I was staying and I told him I was leaving today and he said "oh well it's for people staying for awhile." Thanks buddy. So I bought a bottle of water and we headed to the bus stop. Next stop was..Epcot I think? So we could hop on the monorail. Ugh so close to the park entry but so far!!! (Found out the next day that Tylers friend could have got us into the parks mad ) oh well.

So we hopped on the monorail and took it all around and actually back to Epcot since when coming into Epcot on the monorail you can see all around the park and we wanted Tyler to see it, get some sort of Disney action. Then we got off at the TTC and took the ferry over to MK so he could see the castle a little better but as soon as we got on the ferry it started POORING so we jumped off the ferry and ran to the monorail since I was freezing. I took a picture of the castle from the ferry which I'll post later as well. Took the monorail to the Contemporary next and walked over to Bay Tower? Can't remember what it's called, just to check it out and felt totally out of place since it's all DVC so we walked back over to Contemp for a little and then took the monorail to the Poly. Walked around there for a bit, got a Dole whip (our first ever!!!!!!) SO GOOD muchlove we wanted to go sit outside on the beach with them but it was still raining yuck so we hung out inside then took the monorail over to the GF. Never been inside there before..so beautiful. We went to the Basin store and washed our hands muchlove felt amazing. I WANT that scrub so bad. Played with our hands for awhile, walked over to the pool. Would love to go for a swim in there beach After all that we were pretty pooped so we took the bus back to DTD and waited for Peter's wife to meet us and then we headed home! I know we don't seem like we did much but we had fun yay Peter and I are planning on going to some other resorts on our day off this week since I haven't really been to any others (Old Key West, Port Orleans, AKL, etc).

Now today!!! My family came to visit me for the weekend so we went to Typhoon Lagoon!
Got there around 10ish probably? We had never been before so it was a lot of fun. As soon as we got there we rode Gangplank Falls which is a family raft ride and that was fun just a little too short! Then we went on Keelhaul Falls and Mayday Falls, both fun as well. Love tube rides. Then we went to the wave pool! Cool but very rough. I was sitting on the shore and as soon as the wave came I went flying around and for those of you who have never been- DON'T TRY THIS!! The ground is rough and it scratched my side butt and actually tore skin yuck sorry TMI?? then my dad's girlfriend's granddaughter and I (say that 5 times fast) went to ride Crush N Gusher which I swore to myself I would not ride because I do not like big drops at all but Nina convinced me to... I was freaking out the entire time in the line. We got lost at one point before that and a CM was helping us and I was talking to him about the ride; he warned me that there is a drop as soon as you get on so I was dreading it so much but wanted to do it for Nina since she has no one else to go with.. So we were about to get on and I PANICKED. I was freaking out and seriously almost didn't go. The CM putting us in the tube was such a sweet heart, seriously. He sat down with me for probably 5 minutes (holding up the line) trying to make me feel better and telling me that he promised I would love it and I would be back again; he also told me he hates roller coasters but loves this (I wonder if they just say that???) so I FINALLY went on, so embarassed for holding up the line but whatever. And of course... LOVED IT. What did we do right after we got off? Got right back on! Ha!! I saw the guy later in the day and he recognized me and asked how I liked it, told him I loved it and he was right- I went back laugh he laughed, and was pretty cute.... wink okay! after that we went into the Castaway Creek (lazy river I like to call it) for awhile, and I practically fell asleep but Nina and my dad's gf wanted to do the Shark Reef so I got off with them and decided not to go as I'm not a fan of snorkling really. So I sat and waited for them and started to doze off so I headed back to the umbrella we rented and fell asleep laugh probably for about an hour. Ahhhh so relaxing. After I woke up it was about 3:30 and we were all tired so we headed out. I was planning on going to the ticket counter and seeing if I could trade my ticket into an after 2 pm water park annual pass so I waited in line for about a half hour and didn't even get it because the line was ridiculous. So I called Disney on the way back to my dad's hotel and they told me I could go to DTD's guest services and trade it so I did. Had to pay a whopping.......$8.52!!! Woooo got to love that! I defintely recommend getting the after 2pm water park pass if you're a Florida resident! You can't beat it. Waterparks are free parking, and after 2 it's not as hot, and one of the parks is always open throughout the year. Now just gotta try to convince my friend Peter to get one so I have someone to go with silly

All in all it was a lot of fun! I am poooooped and have to work at 7 in the morning so I'm gonna get ready for bed but hope my first ever trip report was a good read! I'll be posting the pictures sometime tomorrow probably. I posted one pic with me, Stitch, and Nina on drj898's Romantic Engagecation post biggrin Gooodnight!!

Awesome! Basin is fun to play around at with the scrubs, and it's really easy to make similar ones at home for cheap.

I've heard of other CMs at water parks saying this, so I'll bet they all learn it as part of training. That's funny!
