Halloween vs. Christmas

Comparing the two times overall, which do you think is the better time to visit?

Consider:

Decorations, Parties, Special Parades, Special Fireworks, Weather and whatever else you can think of. Personally I love both. I'm craving Christmas recently because we've done several Halloweens, but we haven't done Christmas for a while.

SO HARD TO DECIDE!! I love them both as well. I think Christmas is probably my favorite, though, because you've got the Candlelight Processional and the Osborne Spectacle in addition to the party in the Magic Kingdom.

Plus, the decorations in the resorts are so amazing...

Haven't been for Christmas yet, but Halloween was pretty awesome. If you plan it that way, you can enjoy MNSSHP and F&W. That's what we did last year and it was great.

That's what the wife and I are planning this year, F&W and MNSSHP, that way we will have something to compare our Christmas visit with. HOWEVER October is simply not arriving quickly enough. waiting

There's Disney time, when you're in the parks, which goes incredibly fast. Then there's Non-Disney time, which goes incredibly slow. I think the Imagineers have invented a way to control time.

Ohh my..this is tough!

I'm going to have to go with Halloween though. We've done the whole Halloween/F&W combo before and we just loved it! The crowds can be pretty low if you avoid Columbus Day. Also, Hallowishes is just the best fireworks display I've ever seen. And the weather is just amazing that time of year.

We went in late September and unfortunately the weather kind of sucked. It was still very hot. Crowds were great though. The only busy day was the first day of F&W at Epcot.

I find it hard to compare. I think:

Decorations - Christmas, the trees put them over the top.
Parades - Halloween, I love the Halloween parade.
Fireworks - Christmas, I've never been huge on Hallowishes
Weather - Gotta be Christmas

I love them both of course, but I think I'd pick Halloween. Probably because F&W is at the same time.

True..my version of "great weather" is probably a lot different than some people since I live in SC and it's approx. 105 degrees today. By the time September rolls around and it's in the 80's I'm in heaven.

Well, I'm not picky when it comes to Disney weather. It was in the mid to high nineties with very high humidity. Not fun. Wasn't quite so bad every day we were there, but the ones that were...really were.

Bad Disney weather can hit you like a ton of bricks. On one recent trip, it rained every single day. Not just light rain, either -- downpours and thunderstorms. Every. Day. I know I always say that a little rain never hurts anything, and it usually makes the lines shorter, but a soaking, horrible rain like that was just a big damper (pun intended). You couldn't go anywhere.

I'd rather have rain than heat personally.

I love the rain at WDW! We usually hit the parks instead of running away from them when it rains. I think it's the best time to go!

So true, but unfortunately they ususally go hand-in-hand in Florida sarcastic

We had a great trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg one year. It poured rain all day, we were soaked to the skin but seemed to have the park to ourselves. DH was able to just walk-on all of the coasters...he was in HEAVEN!!

That does sound like heaven! That park has some great coasters! Now what did YOU do while he was riding coasters all day?
