I think it's a definite "Yes."

I think you're there in early-ish September, which means the parties will probably be very light on crowds. It's really nice to have the park nearly to yourself.

You get to see the Halloween parade which is killer.

You get to see characters in their Halloween costumes.

The only issue is the price, but we just kind of put on our price blinders while we're in WDW.

GO GO GO!

I have NEVER heard a bad review of the MNSSHP; seriously. It's a way to see the Magic Kingdom in an entirely different way, you get to trick or treat (fun!), you can dress up in costume (if you like that sort of thing), the earlier parties are usually not crowded (like dsoup said), and you get to see all the characters in their halloween costumes. It's a different atmosphere -- well worth the money.

Another great big YES from me. Well worth the extra cost to attend. We went last year and I loved it. So much so that we just ordered tickets for this trip too. I am usually a take it or leave type with parades but this one is the best I have ever seen. It was so hot when we were there last year that we missed a lot. I am hoping for better temps this year. I know it is always still warm in September but last year it was near 100 if not, every day we where there.

We were there last October in that crazy heat wave it was nuts.
This is what my problem is, my sister and her family went one year and weren't super impressed.
We are leaving on the 15th so I am not sure when it starts in September either.

Yes! We went in September 2009 and it was soo much fun. It's just such a different atmosphere at the MK that evening. I think it was well worth it and would go again in a heartbeat.

I think it's definitely worth a shot. It's not for everyone, but those who love it are fans for a lifetime.

I give MNSSHP a +10. Im not into the trick or treating as much, or the dress-up, I do love the atmosphere though! Plus, getting on all the rides while the first parade is going on, they are empty. But that parade was awesome! Also the way they step up the decorations a notch is unreal.

I agree with all of this. Although technically you can see many of the decorations without going to the party, the atmosphere is just great. Plus given when you're going it shouldn't be crowded at all. We've gone on some of the dates close to Halloween and it was crowded enough to be unpleasant, but early in September should be smooth sailing.

Just got back from the Day 1 of MNSSHP. It was AWESOME! I don't have anything to compare it to as this was my first MNSSHP but from what I've heard from others the fireworks are a change and improvement over previous years and YES they were spectacular.

I had a blast with my mom, I dressed up and surprised her. I was the evil queen from Snow White.

Spent all day listening to the the Boo to you Parade music.

If you want to make the most of it get there when they will first let you in at 4pm and stay to 12am. That is 8 hours on that $60+ dollar ticket - almost a full day.

And for me just like any other trip to WDW 1 time is not enough, there is so much I missed that I want to see next time. And I mean that is not in the typical day at MK, Halloween specific stuff. But for some spending that much on top of regular admission 1 time is enough.

Hi Jen welcome to our forums!

So glad that you loved the Halloween Party, it's absolutely one of my favorite things to do at Disney. How did your Mom like it? What was your favorite part?

Just Car, I was in your shoes just a short time ago, to go or not to go? After reading all the reviews by the great people on this site, I've bought the tickets and have decided to go! We are HUGE Halloween / Fall lovers and decided we would regret not giving it a try..This will be our first time at MNSSHP and we will be going in costume .. I say - DO IT! yay

September Party = AWESOME!

Mid-late October Party = CROWDED!

I would say definitely go for it; you're going at the perfect time. Hopefully it won't be too unbearably hot.

Those fireworks are the BEST I've ever seen. We just sat underneath the Castle with them going off all around us and were in complete awe!

I hope you can convince hubs to get on board the train to Halloweentown! Smile

Wow, it's been about a year since I've been here, but I went to the Party last year and except for the fact that I was a bit warm in my costume, I still had a blast! I'm so glad I'm going again this year (the 18th), and yes, I'm going in costume! (going in a Jack Skellington inspired outfit). Candy here I come!
