That Old Tipping Question...

Another quick question folks...I know about tipping in restaurants and the 10%...15%...20%.. But how many of you tip your mouse maid.?..If you do tip,how much per day.?..I've read people tip per person in the room..Example if they are four guests in your room, do you tip $4.00.. .?

There were 5 of us in room at POR last time (2ad, 1ch + 2infants) so we tipped $5 per day.

I am not sure what to tip at other hotels? Is it the same at Universal hotels? And at Floridays (which isn't a full clean every day, but fresh towels/empty bins etc) with full clean every 4th day.

Well according to the Disney PassPorter book page 36 you are suppose to leave $1 per day per person for the mousekeeping. Although I usually leave $3.00 a day.

I am going to make envelopes ahead of time for mouse keeping/bell services etc and put money in them before we go. That way I don't have to worry about having change. I know how many bags we'll have at each stage, though not sure if we'll use bell services when checking out of beach club or if we'll load the car ourselves.

We tip $5 a day and put it in a thank you card. I feel like house keeping sometimes has a very thankless job and I hope it makes their day a little better.
