Rain forest and Fultons?

This year Rain Forest Cafe and Fulton's are on the Dining Plan. We have never tried them before, because we are always on the deluxe dining plan so why pay for something when you already have 3 meals a day.

Rain forest looks fun and Fulton's looks .... well it serves crab and lobster and it is a puddle boat.

Are they worth the dining credits? Fulton's is 2 credits per person. Is the food good or should we save our credits for other places.

Just so you know we have:
Be our guest (as Walt says " If you can dream it, you can do it")
Fultons
Ohana for breakfast
Teppen Edo
Le cellier (dinner)
Liberty Tree (our favorite for MK lunch)
50's Prime time (After trying them all,we like this best in HS)
Rain Forest Cafe
Narcoossee
Keeping in mind we are spending 3 days in US, IOA, and SW

Again, should I keep Rain Forest and Fulton's?

I don't know how the food is but would LOVE to try Fulton's. We're crab people.

Rain Forest Cafe, I've never been to either of the Disney locations but have been to several throughout the malls in NJ. When I was younger I thought they were so cool, but a few years ago I went to one again and felt like it was sensory overload. The food is good, their specialty salads were always what I had, but the ones I have been to have always been very noisy with a lot of kids and things going on at once. That's part of the appeal of it, I think, but it's definitely something to consider.

This is just my opinion, i have no idea about Fulton's never been, but the rain forest cafe is ok, we have one here at the mall near us so it is not that special to us to go there. The food is good, not great but good. The burger is good but you can get that anywhere in Disney and the ribs are good but the flame tree bbq ribs are better. If you have kids that you think would like the atmosphere which is pretty cool then it may be fun for them. Personaly i would not go there if i could get an adr somewhere else that i can't get normally. If you do decide to go get the volcano for dessert you will not be disappointed. Now having said all that we are going to t rex this trip for the dinosaur's and they are owned by the same company that own's the rain forest so i am expecting it to be similar, but the boy wants to go. Again it is not bad just for me not worth the dining points. Have a great trip

I don't care for Rainforest Cafe, I think the food is just average and it's way over priced. My kids when little were afraid of the rain storms so I would always spend the meal with Katie glued to me.

I haven't been to Fultons, but I do have wonderful memories from my childhood of the beautiful Empress Lily. Before there was a Victoria & Alberts, the Empress Lily was the cream of the crop for Disney Dining. I'm not sure if the interior and high end service is the same as it used to be or if it was changed when it became Fultons. I don't do seafood, so it's not someplace that's usually on my radar anymore.

We have been to both Rain Forest and T-Rex. I prefer Rain Forest although there is no difference in the food. It really is just a matter of which theme you like. We usually eat there once each trip although it is usually for breakfast on the day we go to Animal Kingdom.
Now as far as Fultons goes...this is a hard one. Until they started taking the dining plan I would argue with Mr hub as to whether or not the food was just as good as the California Grill. We both loved Fultons before the dining plan. Since the change it is not the same. It was still very good but not the same. Since you have never been there before you may find it is just fine the way it is. I am not sure that I think it is worth two credits now. Had they not changed anything when they started accepting the dining plan it would have been worth the two credits.

My opinion:

Fulton's, it's not like it used to be since they started taking the dining plan in January of this year. The restaurant took a big hit from that, everything changed and it is not as good as it was. The menu was cut in half and they no longer have all the fresh fish & crab choices they used to, unless its changed. We used to go every trip. don't know if we will ever go back again. It used to have a "WoW" factor which it does not now. If you were never there before, you will not no the difference. They may have gotten better since January, it just ruined the experience for us.

Rainforest Cafe is a fun place to eat. Never had anything bad and all the meals were enjoyable. Wait staff was hit or miss at times, but never bad. It's not signature dinning so don't expect that, but it was good meals and large portions. Kids could get scared thought from the animals and the noise.

Rainforest is just a theme/gimmick chain. Food is OK, but pricey. If you've never gone, it it a bit of a show and as others have pointed out, will appeal to kids A LOT.

Fultons . . . Have had a range of experiences. 12 years ago, it was a character breakfast and only OK. 8 years ago it was a really good meal. Fish was fresh and service attentive. 4 years ago it felt less fresh, more "assembly line". If it could find its way, I'd love to go there for seafood but It just has, for me, been too varied in Identity.

All that said, I'd much rather go to Fulton's to avoid the loud, frenetic atmosphere of Rainforest.

You can eat at a Rainforest Cafe at a lot of places. They are even at shopping malls. But you can't find Fultons in the setting that they have in DTD.

I also prefer the food at Fultons. But this is before they are on the dining plan.

Well it wasn't an either or in this case. I was going to do both, but I decided to save a table serve and not go to rain forest. I don't have any rain forest near me, but if I am only getting burgers and such I will save it for some where really good.

We've never eaten at the Rain Forest in Disney, but we tried it a few years ago in Niagara Falls. Worst burger I've ever eaten! I mean I thought I was eating roadkill! Needless to say, it languished on my plate, largely uneaten. Wait staff didn't seem to care, and just shrugged when I told them how awful it was. DH said his meal wasn't great either.

We haven't tried Fulton's, but friends have, and they loved it. (before the dining plan though).

Yeah, I would like to hear someone else's experience of Fulton's after the dining plan came into play that had been there before too.

Hi,
I have been to Fulton's several times every year for the last nine years including once this past February and twice this past May. The menu changes were not really noticed by either of us because we both LOVE crab and they still offer several kinds. The service is perhaps not quite as perfect as it was before, but not noticeably so. I have not noticed any differences in the food amount or taste since the change-over to the ddp.
Fulton's is one of the dining places that MUST be included on the schedule every year--many times twice during our 2 week stay.
Quite often on our trips, we choose NOT to do the ddp(because of the cheaper passholder room rate), but Fulton's is still a MUST DO!!

We dined at Fultons on the dining plan last Febuary - it was just okay at best and we wished we would have used the two credits elsewhere. The crab legs seemed to have been in the pot all day. It came with a few potato halves I could have made at home. I cannot even remember dessert!

Santa We love both places. Futon's is a bit pricey but if your on the dining plan 2 credits for me would be worth it. We never had a bad meal. RF we also like it's the only chance we have to go there since there is none in Pittsburgh, PA or anywhere close to Pgh and it is also worth the 1 credit.
