Value Resort Free Dining

Next year, I want to go to Disney World with my mom during free dining time. However, the stay at even a moderate resort could be out of the budget. I still want the standard dining plan, and I know it doesn't come free with a stay at a value resorts, but is there some way that I can upgrade from value dining plan to standard dining plan for a discounted price during free dining? Or do I have to stay on the value? Thanks in advance!

I'm not expert, so hopefully others will chime in. But, for our Dec trip, we got free quick service dining by booking a value resort. I wanted to upgrade to the regular dining plan (which would be free for a moderate resort) and only paid the difference between what the quick service dining plan costs and what the regular dining plan costs. If I recall correctly, it was only around $200 to upgrade for 2 adults.

So yes, I believe you can just pay the difference to upgrade to the regular dining plan while still staying at a value resort.

Great. That's what I'll do then. I think I can actually afford it if I get a job when I turn 16. Plus, you guys probably know that I don't need a moderate/deluxe hotel to have an amazing Disney trip. Thanks for the help!

One thing you to watch Hardy is the stay requirements. Like the current free dining offer is you have to stay a minimum of 6 nights to get it. eek

You also need to be able and willing to book at a moment's notice since you never know what days offer is going to apply to.
