Thanksgiving at Disney

We did it, we just made our reservations for Thanksgiving!! yay

We were thinking of going at Christmas but decided we'd rather go at Thanksgiving so we can spend the Christmas holiday with our family in NY.

We were going to plan a huge trip in December but we've decided to scale back and take a smaller trip in November and then plan a longer trip in the Spring of 2011, maybe including a cruise!!

WOW! Congratulations! We've been during the week right after Thanksgiving and it was great; the Christmas decor is up and the Christmas Party at the MK is in full swing. Definitely a great time to go -- and so much less crowded than Christmas!

Time to start planning ADRs!

Yup, we're already talking about where we think we'd like to eat. It's hard to pass on some of our favorites, but we're really trying to "branch out".

We got our ADR call in date from the CM when we made the resort ressie...we'll be on the phone at 6:45 am on that day!!

OK, I haven't done online ADRs yet. How does it work? Do you seem to have better luck?

I'm guessing the main trade-off is hold time, which can be a big drag on the phone.

Your trip sounds really exciting Millie! I think I'd feel like I'd almost HAVE to do Liberty Tree Tavern for Thanksgiving. Is it on your list?

Hey Dsoup,

You know, we're struggling with this one. It kind of depends on EMH and which park we're in. If we're in Epcot then we'll hopefully eat at Garden Grill for the Character dinner...turkey is on the menu, so we probably won't do Liberty Tree....unless everyone tells us that Liberty Tree is FANTASTIC...then we might do that instead of Garden Grill.

In Epcot, I would just LOVE to eat at Le Cellier again, but DH doesn't care so much...he's a Long Islander and with Peter Luger's (very famous NY Steakhouse) down the road from his parent's house...no steakhouse other than Peter Luger's is good enough for him Smile)

My other vote in Epcot would be the Biergarten...I LOVE sauerbraten and braised cabbage...ah decisions

That sounds like fun! The whole trip sounds like a blast. Have you been on Turkey Day before? The crowds are supposed to be bad, but I've heard that's exaggerated, or has diminished in recent years.
