Very excited to meet all of you!

Hello everyone at WDWFGU! I am so happy to be here and join this wonderful Forum. A little bit about me, I'm Joe, I'm 25yrs old, and I'm from Massachusetts. I have been to WDW twice once when I was about 5 (stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort) and then again around 7 or 8 (stayed at All Star Sports Resort). I don't remember much from my visits being so young. When I went I do remember I was able to enjoy "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" and "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" which sadly I hear are now gone. When I went Animal Kingdom had not even opened yet. I don't know what has gotten into me recently but I am wanting to go back and bring my girlfriend who has never been and enjoy WDW as a grown up. I was looking into if WDW was just for children and that is how I found this site. I plan on going sometime in November 2014. I look forward to posting and getting to meet you all!

Hello joe and welcome to the " Walt Disney World for Grownups" family! Do you remember seeing those cheesy commercials about some guy walking by a mirror in Disney World, and the next thing you know he's a kid again? Well it's when you don't think those commercials are cheesy anymore, and you get this little feeling deep down inside, maybe the hairs on the back of your neck start rising alittle, or a tear swelling up in the corner of your eye, and the corner of your mouth starts a little smile, oh yeah, that's when your hooked! It's time to do to Disney, and don't let anyone tell you differently. Its calling you, the "Magic" is calling you! Google some of the commercials on you tube, tell me if you get that feeling. Its there, the feeling of the "Magic". Everyone of us on this forum knows it, that's why we love it so much, and we don't care what other people say. Man, now I really want to be there, now!

Yes, I am going to stay at one of the Value Resorts. I have read good things on here about Pop Century so probably there.

I can't wait! I love animals and I can't wait to go on "Expedition Everest"

I don't remember those commercials but I will look them up! I love that music video you posted though!

Thank you all so much for welcoming me here! I recently got my Vacation Planning DVD in the mail. They seemed to focus a lot on the children angle and didn't have much information for grown up visits. Originally I had planned a 7 night stay but now I am think maybe I should go with the 5 night stay. I figure I can leave before the weekend rush. I know it's so far away but I can't stop thinking about it lol.

We're glad you're here, Joe!

The folks on this board can help you so much in your planning with your upcoming trip; we all truly believe that Disney is a place for EVERYONE to enjoy, at every stage of their lives! There's so much to see and do and experience at Disney as a grown-up, and like Kristen said, you have lots of time to plan...which is almost as fun as the vacation itself, imo...getting all revved up for your trip!

By the time you get there, they will likely have completed ALL of the New Fantasyland Expansion, including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which is the last attraction they're completing in that project. Even though 20,000 Leagues is gone, Fantasyland is still a super awesome land that they've DOUBLED in size over the last few years. I know Fantasyland is generally deemed a "kid" land, but it's been interesting to watch the Imagineers take on this ginormous expansion project, which has been the largest expansion project in Disney history, if I'm remembering correctly.

Oh, and Animal Kingdom is so fantastic...it is an amazing experience!

Welcome, and enjoy your planning!

Hi Joe,

Welcome!

You might want to re-think your 5 vs 7 days--most of the parks will need 2 days each just to get to everything. Just saying!

WELCOME JOE! I was in similiar shoes such as yours..I hadn't been to WDW since I was in my late teens, early twenties..and I suddenly decided I needed to go back as a 41 year old adult..and that's when I stumbled on this wonderful sight! This is THE BEST board around! muchlove

I agree with HawkLady... please re-think cutting your vacation down to 5 days. By the time you go there and settle in...you'll need at least 7 days...we went from Sunday to Saturday..and avoided a lot of the crowds...we did the parks for 5 days- Monday thru Friday... and saved our first and last days for visiting the resort and downtown disney. After we were at the last of the week...I still felt like I had to rush certain things I wish I could have taken more time for...

Next time we will stay at 7 days and do less parks ... or stay longer and have more time to enjoy ourselves...

again- Welcome! Smile We're glad you're here!

Hi Joe and welcome! We're so glad that you've joined us and we'd love to help with any questions you have while planning your trip!

People LOVE Pop Century, but have you seen details about the brand new Art of Animation? It is stunningly beautiful, and has some really nice upscale finishes.

Best of luck as you make your plans. I look forward to hearing more about them!
