Mark Your Calendars: Upcoming Art and Book Signing Events at Disney

If you're planning a trip to Disney in late March or early April and need something else to help round out your itinerary, then take note of these two upcoming events: a Walt Disney World Artist Showcase and a book signing.

Where To Find Santa At Walt Disney World

Though he's traditionally someone the kiddos look forward to seeing each year, there are a lot of kids at heart out there who will keep an eye out for Santa Claus this year. Here's where (and when) you can find the man in red during this holiday season in and around Walt Disney World.

Festival of the Masters Coming to Downtown Disney

The Festival of the Masters combines two awesome things in one place: Disney and fine arts. This year's Festival is set to come to Downtown Disney for the 36th time next week.

The 36th Festival of the Masters promises to bring together one of the "largest ever" groups of artists together at Downtown Disney for this year's fine arts show. Guests opting to take in the event can check out art along the lines of one of the fest's signature pieces, the Pluto image above created by artist Joe Kaminski.

Make Plans Now For Ringing in 2012 At Walt Disney World

As the familiar song goes, what are you doing New Year's Eve? How about ringing in 2012 at Walt Disney World? Recently, Disney put out the scoop on what to expect at the parks during the last few hours of 2011.

The Magic Kingdom will celebrate by offering two fireworks shows on December 31, 2011: a holiday-themed "Wishes" show at 8:30 p.m. and a 11:15 p.m. showing of "Fantasy in the Sky." It looks like a countdown to the new year is also planned.

Epcot is holding two "Illuminations" for guests at 7:00 p.m. and 11:42 p.m. (yep, the time is that specific) to help ring in 2012.

One Day Benefit Sale Coming to Downtown Disney in November

Forget Black Friday! Looks like Downtown Disney is the place to be November 5 as it will be the site of The Benefit Sale. This one-day-only shopping event will offer some great deals to shoppers as well as benefit the Heart of Florida United Way.

Downtown Disney merchants that are participating in the Saturday sale include the World of Disney(r) Store, Tren-D, Team Mickey, Disney Days of Christmas, Once Upon A Toy, Disney Pin Traders, Mickey's Pantry, and Marketplace Fun Finds.

International Dragon Boat Festival Taking Place Today at Downtown Disney

It's billed as one of the fastest-growing water sports around, and those heading to Downtown Disney today can see what it's all about. We're talking, of course, about dragon boat racing and the upcoming Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival that will take place today at DD.

Dragon boats take their design inspiration from ancient China. The long boats feature a dragon head and tail plus twenty rowers, a drummer and a steerperson. The goal is for everyone in the boat to work together and in unison to swiftly propel the craft through the water.

Two New Dining Experiences at Disney

There are two new dining experiences on the horizon for Walt Disney World guests - a character lunch and a holiday dinner.

First off, the Animal Kingdom's Tusker House will be expanding the Donald and Daisy-themed character breakfast to include a character lunch. Starting December 4, the Donald's Dining Safari lunch will let guests enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet with African touches in a character dining atmosphere. Reservations for this new experience began September 15.

One of my favorite places to visit while at Disney World is the Art of Disney store. The main Art of Disney store is located in the Downtown Disney Marketplace, close to the parking lot. Another location is at Epcot Future World, just to the right of Spaceship Earth.

What To Do on Arrival and Departure Days in Disney World

Many of us arrive in Disney World at mid-day or in the evening, but don't want to use up a day on our park-hopper tickets for only a half-day of park touring.

Additionally, there are often times that we don't have a flight out until late afternoon or evening, but we've used up all of our tickets and need to fill the time until we leave for the airport.

If you're lucky enough to be at Disney World today celebrating Spring Break, then you truly got the luck 'o the Irish for St. Patrick's Day! If you want an authentic Irish experience for St. Patrick's Day, we've got the best spots to head to!

Downtown Disney's Raglan Road

Raglan Road in Downtown Disney had been on my "to-do" list for quite some time. Who can resist pub food? Rose and Crown is one of my favorite restaurants in Epcot, so I was anxious to give the Irish pub a chance.

Good beer is surprisingly easier to come by at Disney World than one might think. Not a drop will be found at the Magic Kingdom, but there's plenty of great brew to be found in Epcot, Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk resort area.
