Went on a Disney Northern European cruise back in July 2010, it was fantastic! We arrived London three days early to get over the jetlag, relax, and explore London.

We took an airport bus shuttle (much cheaper than taxi) to our hotel (the same hotel that Disney "organized" cruise recommended), but we made our own reservations.

We sign up for the Disney embarkation/debarkation shuttle transfer (hotel to port/port airport (after the cruise)), because Disney took care of all our bags, transfer, and ensured that we were given priority to disembark to meet our departing flight time. btw, if you decide to use the Disney's land transportation/transfer shuttle, you will need to stay or be at a specific/selected hotel to use this land transportation shuttle (that's why I stayed where we did (a Disney recommended hotel)).

Before I forget, bring some warm jackets/sweaters (even a rain coat/small umbrella), some of the scandinavian countries and Russia were cool in the evenings (and rain), and at night on deck (at sea) was miserable. Also, London's weather can be finicky.

Additionally, if you don't get a Russian tourist visa in advance you will need to sign up for one of Disney's organized shore tours, or else you cannot disembark in Russia. The other countries we visited did not have such requirements (visa that is). We signed up early for all the shore tours we liked, because they fill up fast and after you arrive a port, they may not be available anymore crossfingers .

As I said earlier, it was a fantastic cruise and the whole family had a great time, but you'll need to plan, and then plan some more. mickey

Enjoy.

Take half as much clothing as you think you need, and twice as much money!

I've never thought about a European cruise really apart from the fjords, they just seem to be hugely expensive compared to the Caribbean ones.

I really want to do a Northern Europe cruise, but it costs us a transatlantic flight in addition to the cruise fare, so that is a long term plan for us, but it looks fantastic!! I can't imagine that it would be anything less than absolutely amazing!

Thanks for the response everyone awesome
We have managed to convince my parents they should come with us as well,and by convince i mean the conversation went like this ;

DW "we are going to do a Disney cruise in 2017"

Mum "We are in"

laugh laugh laugh

@Robyn we thought about a hot cruise but it really doesn't appeal to us because if we are flying across the pond i want to do the theme parks.Plus it is a chance to visit some places we wouldn't realisticly visit if we didn't do it this way .
