Finngirl, I agree. Can't think of a better place to get stranded. Robyn, honestly, I'm ready to go home. Although I do wish I could come back again next month!

I have enjoyed reading about your (and Robyn's) adventures. Did you have travel insurance? Can you claim anything for your delay? It would be great if an insurance company would pay for your Disney extension. stars

That turkey dinner looks great. I'll be looking for it in September! Also, what is this 'kitty' you speak of?

LOL, believe me, it crossed my mind! They started boarding right after I arrived at the gate, and I was thinking it would be cool to hop on board.

No trip insurance. I could've gotten a voucher for a reduced rate at a hotel, but Disney hotels don't accept them and I wanted to stay on site. I'm not complaining; my long weekend on the cheap turned out to be 10 days and not so cheap, but I was at WDW so I didn't care.

If you get between 150,000 and 200,000 points on Toy Story Mania, you get a kitty! It's probably supposed to be a bobcat or lynx or something, but a cat is a cat. No matter how many times I tried, I couldn't break 150,000 to move up from beaver to kitty. So with my extra time I did TSM till I finally got that kitty.

This is the kitty.

Wrapping up the snow days report: It doesn't matter who I'm with - hubby, hubby and friends, a friend but no hubby, or even all by my lonesome - a Walt Disney World vacation is spectacular.

Aside from the decor, I found All-Star Sports to be about the same as Pop Century - certainly not DVC quality, but still a great place to stay if I want to be economical. The rooms were small, but plenty big enough for two and more than big enough for one. The food court was convenient and the food wasn't bad (aside from the limp salad that came with my pizza). Breakfast in particular was excellent. I honestly can't see spending the money for a breakfast ADR when the food court breakfasts were delicious and very filling. Also, while I've read about the noisy youth groups at the All-Stars, I never had a problem with noise disturbing my rest. Of course, that might have been different if I'd had the misfortune of getting a room overlooking one of the pools or the large football field where teenagers played long past "quiet time." Center Court and the neighboring Hoops Hotel in particular were fairly peaceful and quiet. I'd have no problem staying at All-Star Sports again.

My favorite Outdoor Kitchens at the Flower and Garden Festival were China (Lotus Blossom, I think it's called) and Japan (Hanami). My favorite item was the salmon sushi, followed closely by the spring rolls, but both the Japanese and Chinese chicken buns were also delicious. However, everything I sampled was tasty. The white sangria from the Morocco booth in particular was quite good. I'm not sure what sort of fruit juices were blended with the wine - the flavor was reminiscent of peaches or perhaps apricots - but the flavor was much more subtle and delicate than the usual red sangria with citrus flavors. I highly recommend it.

Disney Cast Members are the best - they helped turn being stranded in Florida into three more days of worry-free fun. Once I had the voucher for my return flight after my original flight home was cancelled, I had no problems with anything - room reservation, boarding pass, luggage, you name it.

And now it's sinking in that my annual pass expires in less than four weeks and I won't be back to WDW until October 2016, most likely. But I do have our 25th anniversary cruise and first trip to Disneyland to anticipate, and since I more than got my money's worth out of the AP I think I can endure that year and a half.

LOL! I didn't even see Robyn's question about dinner until after I'd finished posting those photos as well as others. Posting on the smartphone isn't as easy as on the computer.

Pirates...taste like chicken.

That's such a sad feeling isn't it? It still hits me now. I got used to being treated like Disney royalty with all of the little AP niceties and privileges. I went to do early registration for the Wine & Dine 1/2 and I missed it for DVC and then I saw that AP holders could register early and I thought "aha!" before realizing that I no longer had an AP and I would have to wait for "peasant" registration. laugh

My room at Sports was outside of the football field. The first night, there were kids playing there when I was heading back to my room. I thought for sure they would keep me awake. I was pleasantly surprised they didn't. I'm sure it was I was exhausted that night and the next three nights. I never heard a thing when I got to my room and hit the bed.
