Closure of the MK Railway

Will be closed from 28 September to November 8 November due to unforeseen track maintenance. How do I know... Because for the 2nd year in a row have booked the steam train tour to have it cancelled. At least this year they have emailed me to tell me and offered me either Keys to the Kingdom or the Marceline tour for free. Have already done the KTTK and ironically booked Marceline at the same time I booked the train tour! Will contact them this week about it to see what they can do, maybe they will refund me the Marceline tour.

Disney are amazing, emailed them and all sorted in less than 1/2 hour, money refunded for Marceline and staying in the tour genuinely surprised

Wow! Great deal (sort of)! So I guess I won't try to book the steam train tour during our fall trip then... wink Thanks for the heads up on the closure.

BTW, we've started looking at the park plan for the Sept/Oct trip. We've got to get together to figure out a meet up mickey

So glad they could put a little pixie dust on it for you. Also glad they let you know instead of making you find out the hard way.

Let's hope they finish early. Is it me but the phrase unforeseen track maintenance being used now for something happening at the end of September is a bit odd? Surely it should be planned as it is in advance, in the UK unforeseen means close it down now as there is a problem!

I got the email too. My DH and I are so disappointed. For our trip this fall we wanted to try something new and we both decided the train tour was it. Glad to hear they were quick in accomodating. We'll have to email soon.

We're not sure which tour to chose as a replacement. Anyone have recommendations? I know Keys to the Kingdom is longer (5 hours), not sure if I want to take that much time out of the parks. Also you can't take photos and we are big into photography. Marceline is shorter and allows you to take photos. Is the extra stuff you see on Keys worth the extra time?

They might. I remember last year around the same time it was scheduled for maintenance as well, and my trip was going to be from 10/27-11/2 and I was going to miss it. I was pleasantly surprised to find it up and running halfway through my trip. So, fingers crossed others will have the same luck.
