Disney Gift Cards in the UK?

Goooood evening you gorgeous lot!

Does anyone know if the Disney Gift Cards are sold in the UK? On-line they only will deliver to the US and I REALLY *REALLY* want one for my bits and bobs spending around the parks, I have my heart set on one with Maleficent on! (She's my favourite..). (https://media.disneygiftcard.com/cards_icons/maleficent.png)

Will I just have to nab one at the park? I really like the idea of using it instead of my credit cards, plus my credit card charges a fee if you use a currency other than GBP, so my little purchases of sweeties and margaritas might hit me hard, the sneaky so and sos....

The best advice I can give you is get a halifax credit card, it's recommended by Martin Lewis for spending abroad, it gives near perfect rates and no charge for spending or withdrawing on it. We got one last year and haven't looked back since xxxx

I will feel so naughty for getting yet another credit card - but if I must! Wink xxx

Does anyone know if you can buy gift cards on-site though? And if I can nag to get a Maleficent one? Wink

Yes ocarina, they sell a ton of different cards on site , at the resort gift shops , all over. You may just have to look around a bit to find what you want. Let me see what I can find for you.

That one would be perfect, mrhub! So it's available on-site in the gift shops? Makes so much sense bunging a wodge of dollars on that with just one nasty fee from my credit card Smile

Well I sent an e-mail to guest relations for you asking if that specific card is available at Walt Disney World Resort, so I will let you know in a few days. It is available on line though. Let me check a couple other things though, maybe we can get you one before you get there.

So, regulars on the forum that are going down soon and could check for the card are MicRac, DisneyDoc, mimi. I know BuffaloBill & NHShorty would check for you, but that getting awfully close to your trip to get it to you in time, same with Jess & Mase.

I've been thinking about purchasing gift cards too. We want to use it for food purchases so we can carry less cash.
Does anyone know if the Disney gift cards bought in Canada can be used in the US or are they just good for in Canada? I read that the ones bought in the US are only good there.

The other way of doing it is to look at a Metro Bank account, the card linked to your current account lets you take money out overseas without charging you, and you get a much better rate as it is the rate at that moment.

Mr Hub you are truly wonderful with your knowledge and how you help.

Spook, the web site says they are good at any Disney location so I would think you can use them.

I googled it last night and from the sounds of it the Disney Stores here don't sell gift cards sad
The articles I was reading were from 2009 so maybe things have changed since then. It said that they only sold gift certificates for the Disney Store's in Canada or something like that confused I guess next time I'm at a store (hopefully sometime soon biggrin )I'll ask to find out.

They also have mini Flower and Garden gift cards this year at Epcot, just like the ones sold during Food and Wine:
