Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

Hi All,
I hate to admit this considering all the times I have been to Disney that I have never, ever been to the Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot. But that is all going to be corrected this May as I will be going with my girlfriend (as my hubby is not such the Disney nut).
So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that could give me pointers of 'must do' type of things. I would be much greatful. yay

I was there once and apart from some nice topiaries, there wasn't much to it. But that was before it became this mini F&W Fest.

I've been twice now, it's really pretty to look at this last year they had a little booklet that you collect stamps at each of the different sections. I enjoyed the food offerings too so I hope they continue with that

My favorite thing at the festival is the butterfly tent. You get to hang out in the tent and all these butterflies are just flying around doing their thing. The mini food & wine fest wasn't there when we went last time, so I'm looking forward to that this spring. If you're a super garden-y type person, HGTV usually runs some presentations and workshop-type things at the old Wonders of Life pavilion. We went one time and I thought it was pretty neat just to walk around and see all of the topiaries.

We're taking my parents back specifically for F&G in April and we're going to hit the last weekend of F&G when we go to Star Wars weekend in May. I'm pretty excited about that happy coincidence because my husband's aunt will be joining us in May and she used to work at the USDA making the diet for the bugs in the lab and she loves all kinds of buggy creatures, but especially butterflies. She's going to FLIP over that tent!

We were at the 2012 Flower and Garden Festival, the only time we've been to Disney World and Epcot was just so gorgeous. It worked out well because my mum is a gardener and she loved seeing all the flowers and gardens and especially the topiaries. I had to make sure I took photos of every single topiary for her to scrapbook. I loved seeing Bambi's Butterfly House and there were quite a few butterflies in there. Also they had some nice merch. available. We spent most of the time at Epcot really just checking out the flowers and topiaries.

Oh goodness you will love it!! We have been several times and it is one of our favorite times to go! I also like the butterfly house!! The topiaries are really cool. The food they had last year was good too. A very nice time to go.

I had a great time at the Flower and Garden last year. I still have the flower seeds planted from the seed packet I got.

I want to thank everyone who has answered my question and I can't wait to see this for the first time. And I will go to the butterfly tent for sure..thanks everyone.

Ok I have one more question: Does anyone know if you can save your snacks to eat at the different booths like you can for the Wine and Food Festival? crossfingers

My friends and I thought about doing it last year since we were already in the area for Braves Spring Training, we just didn't have the funds really.

But if we go back this year, I reeeeally want to do it. If just so I have an excuse to get to Epcot for a day. yay

I haven't been to the F&G festival. I looked it up on the Disney Food Blog. Yes, you can. The menus from last year are in this article.

I loved that festival! The flower power concerts were fun too. Where else can you hear groups like the Turtles? mickey
