Exciting News for Shareholders

This is so exciting! When I first bought my Disney stock the dividend I was getting per share was about $.23

-------------------

BURBANK, Calif., November 28, 2012 - The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) board today declared an annual cash dividend of $0.75 per share, up 25 percent, or $0.15 per share, from the previous year. The dividend is payable on December 28, 2012 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 10, 2012. The December payment represents the 57th consecutive dividend payment to shareholders.

It was much more exciting when we used to get shareholder discounts on stuff.

At least now we get free parking when we stay at any WDW resort.

I didnt know you got free parking with the shares! Ive had mine for ages - hubby bought them for me for our first wedding anniversary. I never bank my checks though, my bank charge PS25 (or something similarly silly) to bank non UK checks so am just making a nice collection of them Smile

I am sorry, Robyn. That was lame attempt at Yankee humor. Anyone staying at a WDW resort gets free parking.

Back in the old days, shareholders got an ID card that entitled them to a discount almost everywhere in Disney, including the Disney stores.

I used most of my stock on my daughter's college education. When she was little she was very curious about what "stock" meant. I told her that it meant we owned part of Disney. She wanted to know which part we owned. I told her we owned one of the teacups. Even now at 26, she loves to ride "our" teacup.

Aawww... what a great story about your teacups! We say our DCV points mean we own an Okapi at Kidani Village laugh

I don't have very much of my stock left either, but one of these days I'll start buying it again. I agree it would be nice if shareholders still got some sort of perks. Even the annual meeting has been dumbed down. However that ROI is looking pretty nice for anyone who has been holding onto it for awhile. mickey

That's good to hear. Glad it's doing something again. Gonna make sure we use our free parking tomorrow...
