Whatever the replacements are, they will have to be very strong to attract the following that Off Kilter and MO Rocking had attracted, I personally had muchlove for ALL the outgoing acts. However I will check out the new incoming acts with an open mind.

After seeing PI sit vacant for 8 years and the ho hum that is the fantasyland expansion, I have very little faith in WDW decision making these days.

Ok, I know that people are freaking out about this all over the internet, but it's going to be ok, I swear.

Maybe I have a different perspective because I've been traveling to Disney for more than 40 years - but having the same shows and acts is not the way it started out. It's just what happened in the late 80s when Eisner started trying to slash the budgets. "Back in the day" a yearly trip to Disney was exciting because everything was new - not because everything was the same. We even got new parades and fireworks every year or two, it was awesome because it was always changing and evolving and getting better. Recently it's become the same old shows for decades, that gets boring after a time, it's not innovative or unique. I'm looking forward to some new entertainment, it keeps things fresh and creative.

I'm looking forward to new entertainment being added. As a local AP, we go to WDW every few weekends and the same live acts can definitely get stale after they've been there for so many years. It's a shame that Disney has chosen to completely retire these acts for good. I would rather they keep the old acts AND add new ones. The old and new could each play for 2-3 alternating days a week.

If they want to freshen things up, start with Illuminations. I love it to death but honestly, it's been around for a thousand circles around the sun.

I also agree with your comment Kristen..I remember seeing a band in a concert in the 70's...But when they played at a local venue only 5 years ago..It was the same set of songs..Looking forward to new stuff..

I'm hoping I may get the best of both worlds - thankfully I can watch British Revolution without trying to squeeze them into my first few days but off kilter I need to see them before they disappear

also hoping I will see the new acts while I'm there so I can give my opinion - I will go with an open mind!

Couldn't have said it better myself. We need change and innovation to keep things fresh. I have no problems with them revamping things, it makes going to the World much more exciting year after year!

Acts play in Vegas for 30 years. And people still pay to see them. Off kilter changes their set every show. They even change the players. I don't see how they get stale to the annual vacationer. The only people who Off Kilter would get stale to are the people most upset about them getting canned.

I am so sad. Off Kilter is a favorite. We always make sure to catch a couple of performances. I have all the cd's. I am glad I get to see them one last time at the end of September but Canada and Epcot will not be the same without them. sad

Some people like the repetition of the same acts year after year. I personally like it when Disney changes
things up with new attractions and acts. Off kilter may change the musicians and the songs each set, but they still only have a certain number of musicians and songs. Then they repeat it all over again. I go to WDW 40+ days a year for almost seven years. Live acts gets stale very easily after that many shows.

well its time to get rid of Mickey and Minnie. They're getting stale.

There is no possible comparison. You may be upset about Off Kilter being gone from Epcot, but many others are not. Both points of view are valid. If you're that bitter about it, put it in your letter to Disney.

Whoa!...I wish I hadn't started this thread..To be honest, I can see both sides of this decision...Yes it is sad that Off Kilter will play their last gig at Epcot, but for those, like myself who have seen them many times, I wish them all the best in the future..Who knows, maybe they were getting fed up playing the same venue, day in,day out..I play in a band and I make sure we don't play the same venues too often as people say, here we go again, and we have approx 180 songs in our repertoire..But I do feel sorry for those who have missed them in the past as they did have a great following and were very talented..However what ever takes over I'am sure it will be fun...Hey, it's Disney... wink

New acts to World Showcase will be Sbandieratori Flags in Italy, a lumberjack-based thrill show in Canada, B'net Houariyat, a musical/dance act in Morocco and Scottish Musical Trio, a Celtic musical group in United Kingdom.

The MoRockin replacement(or close to it):

No worries. I'll get over it. Just venting a bit.

[Mod Hat] mickey Venting is fine, but please try not to direct your anger at other members of the forum.

Let us all remember that no one here has made these decisions, and being rude to each other doesn't help what is becoming an emotionally charged situation across the Disney fandom. Walt Disney World For Grown-ups is a place that everyone can express their opinion and all are held equally valid, what makes this forum different than others is that we don't lash out at each other to do so.

I've got a stack of Off Killter CDs, the music is pretty great - despite the changing out the musicians. We don't know that the lumberjack show isn't going to be a fantastic way to spend some time too. Yes, seeing our favorite attractions leave is sad and it always leaves a hole in the hearts of the people who loved it most, but Disney moves on. When it comes to the point that the changes ruin our vacations, it's time to move on. Until then try and look on the bright side, at least it's not another budget cut that's not being replaced with anything!

That's totally ok. My DH2 loves them, but I can only go so long.

They will probably sleep all night and work all day too. (Monty Python anyone?)
