Last Minute Disney Trip

Has anyone ever taken a spur of the moment Disney trip? I know it's tough to do with families, but since many of us travel in ones and twos, it might be easier to jump in the car and go!

If you have, what was it like?

If you haven't -- would you want to?

I would love to. Now that we know it's such an easy drive, it might be alot easier to just say "Hey, let's go to Disney!" for a long weekend.

I wish it was possible to take a last minute trip. Unfortunately we have much to plan and arrange before we can do more than just a weekend away.

Rough for anyone to take a last-minute trip. Particularly you guys from England. I think a last minute trip may be the only way we wind up ever going again. Just pick a weekend and say "what the heck!"

We lived about 5 hours away once..we had a long weekend & a free ticket and I tried and tried and TRIED to convince Dave to go..but he was looking forward to relaxing..and at Disney we rarely relax!

Now with the little man we couldn't swing it...we can't go to the grocery store without a plan!

HA - I know what you mean, Bella. It's a major strategy session with lists and crossing things off to go even for the day with a baby. I always look wistfully at the "no bag" people going through security...

Speaking of, did I tell you about the day that we were behind the couple who tried to sneak beer into MK - hidden in their son's DIAPER BAG? It was pretty funny. Confiscated, it was.

Our last trip was very last minute, we made our reservations less than a week before we left to drive down. I much prefer planning it, rather than going at the last minute.

We would love to, but there's just no way. It's an 18 hour drive or airfare, plus we own a retail store, so leaving it for a week costs alot in salary to pay someone else.

And being so far away a 3 day trip just isn't worth it to us.

I think the fastest turn around we've ever done between deciding to go to Disney, then actually going is about 3 weeks. That was back in 2008, and we were just going for the weekend. I don't think I'd ever do that again, haha, I enjoy having my time to plan things out and build up excitement.

We do all the time, but then again we live only 2hrs away. We have actually gotten up on a Sat with no plans and just decided to go to Disney. I mean who wouldn't want to go to the "Happiest place on Earth" for the day.

This used to be the case before we gave up our passes but alas no more... sad We do still get to head over for dinner or to just walk around Downtown Disney or some of the resorts and so I still get my Disney fix that way. mickey

We go thru cycles too when we don't get passes. Then we start to miss it and have to get passes. We just got ours in June when a friend of ours came down for her vacation.
