What is the thing you miss most?

Teacherdrama was mentioning Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and I was curious what everyone's most missed thing was (attraction, food item, promotion, whatever).

I think I'll pick the Potatoes at Ohana.

What do you wish they would bring back?

I get that change is a good thing and that we'd hate it if Disney was the same every time we went, but I do miss riding Horizons. I have such great memories of picking between space sea and desert!

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Play It!

The Dave made it to the hot seat once..it was my proudest moment. He lost on an easy questions because he got distracted because the back on his head was on one of the big screens and he kept thinking about how badly he needed to clean up his hair in the back.

See my response to Bella's Epcot thread to read about some of the things in Future World that I miss.

Otherwise, I really miss the Mickey Mouse Revue. It was at the Fantasyland Theatre, where Mickey's Philharmagic is now. (in the meantime there was Magic Journeys and the Legend of the Lion King, and for a time the theatre was used to show short films). It closed in 1980 and I saw it in 1978 when I was 9 years old.

I guess if I really had wanted to see it again, I could've gone to Tokyo, where it was held at Tokyo Disneyland from it's opening until just a couple years ago.

An oldie but a goodie...

What are the things about Disney of the past that you miss most? I absolutely loved the "If You Had Wings" ride and still sing the song (quietly and to myself) every now and then. Place I "visited" on that ride have shaped my travel bucket list and I still have quite a few places to fly away to.

The Timekeeper, and Horizons. I loved If You Had Wings too.

I guess I was quite late to the disney party, I don't remember a lot of stuff that is now no more. I miss the old, really good backlot tour.

I miss Mr. Toads wild ride. It was a favorite of mine and I always think about the ride as I walk thru Fantasy Land. I will also miss Malestorm and Off Kilter when we visit Epcot this year. Two of my favorites will not be there this trip.

I really liked the hat too. I loved seeing it from a distance at night as I rounded the curve between the Boardwalk coming to The Studios. mickey

Put me down for missing the hat as of Wednesday.

For attractions, there are so many, but I'll say Horizons. I don't know if I would have loved it as an adult, but it captured my imagination as a child and I would have relished the opportunity to ride it with fresh eyes. Other contenders were Body Wars (really the whole Wonders of Life pavilion), Toontown, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Maelstrom, and the original Journey into Imagination.

For shows, Hunchback is one of my favorite animated films, so I wish that the stage show was still around.

For restaurants, I wasn't attached to any that are no more, but I did prefer the Main Street Bakery as a Disney entity rather than a disguised Starbucks. It would have been nice if they could have just changed the coffee for the people who prefer it (I have no horse in that race. I can't stand coffee.) and left everything else about the bakery the same. As far as individual food items, I haven't been going regularly enough for a long enough time to have had any of my favorites discontinued yet.

In other entertainment, I miss Push the Talking Trash Can and the Ziti Sisters

This is hard for me considering I haven't gone to Disney as many times in comparison to everyone else and I never got to experience some of the great classics like the Horizons or Mr Toad's Wild Ride of the world.

Anyway, for me, I do miss seeing Dumbo right in the heart of Fantasyland behind the castle. I understand the need to add more capacity and New Fantasyland but even though I don't ride Dumbo, I can't help but think that the Dumbo ride right in the middle of Fantasyland is so picturesque and iconic. Other than that, since I heard they changed the drinks at Club Cool, I will certainly miss the watermelon soda but I do hope the melon soda from Thailand will ease the loss whenever my next visit will be!

The biggest is probably 20,000 leagues under the sea. WE really missed the Back Lot Tour as well.

Fun thread!

I miss Superstar Television, the original Backlot Tour, Jeffrey playing the piano at The Brown Derby, Mr. Toad, and Toontown.

I will miss the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps and Off Kilter the most! I also agree that the Main Street Bakery was better as the authentic bakery. I love coffee, but do we really need Starbucks *everywhere?* idk...seems to diminish the magic for me.

20,000 Leagues definitely!

I know not everyone loved the hat at HS, but I did. Last trip I took a million pics of it, and I know I will miss it on our next trip.

Jeremy Irons as the narrator in Spaceship Earth. I love Judie Dench, but his voice was amazing.

Easily...

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Mickey's House in ToonTown

The original, Animatronic version of Figment's Land of Imagination

I also seem to remember a different Mickey Mouse bar as a kid, one with both chocolate & vanilla ice cream and only the ears chocolate dipped. (not the Dove(?) Bars of Today)
