Which Section at Saratoga Springs?

Saratoga Springs is such a huge resort - which section do you think is the best to stay in?

I've only stayed in Congress Park before and we really liked it there. What section do you request?

Also, which of the pools is the one that was just re-designed?

I always request the wait list for another resort. Preferably one in Disneyworld! {rimshot} I'll be here all week.

Congress Park because it's just a short walk to Downtown Disney and an equally short walk to the boat dock if you don't feel like walking. And if you get a DTD view and can see folks wandering around and hear the music, all the better.

I loved the location at Congress Park, but our room and view in that section were poor. Our room was in need of a soft good refurbishment...something that was supposed to have been completed just a year or so ago resort-wide. Our room in The Springs last December was much nicer. Everything looked clean and fresh and we had a beautiful view of a water feature instead of a near-pool-view at Congress Park that was completely blocked but trees. The walk to DTD is longer from The Springs, but it's still very do-able and The Springs is closer to the main building.

I've always wanted to stay at the tree houses - I keep forgetting they are Saratoga. Although I just did a quick search, REALLY $560 a night and that's a discount? Saratoga looks like a nice resort because it's totally empty. lol!

$560 a night for a room that sleeps 9, has a full kitchen, 2 baths, and a jacuzzi tub. A bargin when you consider that's a starting rate for a room at the Grand Floridian. Rack rate at a Treehouse during peak season can be $1,144 a night. That's right in line and even on the low side to other equivalent DVC rooms.

I haven't stayed in the Treehouses yet, and tried for a room there when we booked our February trip but since it was a short plan they were already booked. sad

I'd love to try a treehouse but I don't know a time when it will be a viable option. We either go alone just the 2 of us, or with our parents so 6 but only 2 rooms have double beds and no one wants the sofa bed.

The diabetes has given me walking problems so I always ask for the Springs (I hope that is their name) the three buildings closest to the Carriage house and main pool.

The first time(2012) we stayed at SSR we stayed at The Springs, and it we really, really good. Close enough to the main unit for the store, pool, reception, etc, but still walking distance to DTD. Last year(2013) we booked SSR again, but this time they gave us a room in the Paddock. We asked if there was a room available in the Springs but not until the next day. We decided to stay, do a couple of walks and then decide if we wanted to change to the Springs for the rest of the vacation. Well, after a few hours we decided to change, went back to reception and made the change. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the room, the view, anything, it was just that the Springs was a better location for us. As with typical Disney efficiency, our room transfer was completed with no fuss or stress and done very quickly letting us enjoy the rest of our vacation.

We're booked for SSR again this year and will(again) ask to stay at the Springs.

I've been considering the Springs, especially since I'm having the knee problem. However the view of DTD after dark from Congress Park is so pretty, I don't know that I would want to give that up.

I put in my requests and ended up asking for Congress Park near Downtown Disney. I think that probably means the view won't be so great, however since there's so much construction there right now I'm not sure that I mind. I think that since the bus stop is near the bridge and there are two spots for breakfast right there too (Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express) it might actually be a pretty great spot.

In other good news, I felt like Congress Park was more compact than other areas of the resort. It should be a short walk to the pool regardless of your building and the walk to Downtown Disney is not only convenient, but beautiful! Love my home resort. muchlove Enjoy! mickey

Bit late to theis but We liked Grandstand as it is the first pick up point for the bus and drops off first. Handy if you are not driving to the parks

That's the one thing I'm worried about at Congress Park and having a scooter. But I think if it turns out to be a problem we can just catch the bus from DTD.
