Boardwalk Inn Carousel

Disney's Boardwalk Inn has plenty of "rare finds," including a beautiful scale model carousel located front and center in the entryway of the resort.

The authentic carousel was designed in the 1920s by premier carousel craftsman M.C. Illions. The miniature features figures decorated with stunning color and detail, glittering "jewels," expressions, and even hidden Mickeys.

And the best part about the carousel? Every hour it comes alive, lighting up and twirling to classic Boardwalk music.

Wow, I did not know all this! Thanks Brad! We always give it a glance in passing, but have never looked that closely. That's worth paying more attention to, especially the hidden Mickey horse and the Bench (that's cool!)

I would love to see it come to life so we need to do that next visit.

Great info!

I am a DVC member and stayed at the Boardwalk at least 6 to 8 times and have never seen it move and play! I totally enjoyed the video and will look forward to hanging around for it to play this summer!

This carousel gave me a magical moment on my trip last July.
It was the last day of our stay at the Boardwalk Villas. As we prepared to transfer over to the Wilderness Lodge for the rest of our vacation, I sat on the bench below the carousel to take in some final moments in the lobby.
Even though we had stay there before, I also wasn't aware it came alive every hour. Of course it did at that moment.

Fantastic!! A great way to say goodbye to the Boardwalk.

I've stayed or visited all the Disney Resorts several times.
The Boardwalk is my FAVORITE!!!
We'll be back this December.

So glad you guys enjoyed this post! I've always been a huge fan of the Boardwalk carousel, but it can be a little creepy when it lights up and begins its show in the middle of the night! :-)

My great grandfather was MC Illions the carver of this carousel and I am thrilled it has such a wonderful home and can be seen by so many appreciative people!
