Perched high above Walt Disney World Resort on the 15th Floor of the Disney's Contemporary Resort is a bar & lounge with some of the most coveted seating around. Connected to the the exquisite culinary genius of Chef Brian Piasecki's California Grill, the California Grill Lounge serves the same award winning food & wine as in the restaurant.

A sunny modern feeling pervades the 15th Floor with blonde woodwork and sleek modern decor. Bright golden colors are only highlighted by the sun shining in the floor to ceiling panoramic windows.

Sharing the the world class menu served at the California Grill, makes this lounge a perfect stop for both a quick bite to eat for Flat Breads or Sushi, and a relaxing steak dinner. While you nosh be sure to try some of the outstanding specialty cocktails with drinks that can't be found anywhere else on property. Some fan favorites include the Sweet and Bubbly, French Martini " SKYY Vodka, Chambord, Pineapple Juice and a splash of Roederer Sparkling Wine $9, and the very California, Golden Gate " RemyVSOP, Amaretto Disaronno, Cranberry Juice and a squeeze of orange.

In addition to the fantastic food and cocktails the California Grill Bar & Lounge have full access to the restaurant's high end niche wine list that features spectacular vintages and blend from up and down the state of California as well as stunning Saki choices to accompany the market fresh sushi menu.

Whether you'll be able to get a table at the lounge is somewhat touch and go. The lounge seating is first come first serve, and you must first check in at the desk on the 2nd floor to see if there is room available. However, it's absolutely worth trying to get one of these coveted seats. California Grill Lounge holds some pretty prime property, especially as the evening moves on and the fireworks draw near.

Though I've never felt at all rushed by the staff here, the atmosphere of the lounge always seems a little bit hurried. It's a busy spot, but you can chalk that up to the fantastic food & panoramic views. You're best chance of walking in for this gustatory treat is to arrive early in the evening.

Thanks so much to our friends at Disney Food Blog for giving us exclusive use of their photographs. Have you enjoyed the California Grill Lounge? What has your experience been with getting a table? Leave me a message below and help add to the knowledge base of this high end experience.

We enjoyed the lounge on a Monday night during our last visit in late November. The wine and drinks were top-notch and the server was very helpful. We tried the flatbreads and were not disappointed. Excellent bar food. Though we did see other folks eating full meals in the lounge.

Just don't get your hopes up for a window seat for Wishes unless you get there extremely early. It was a slow Monday, so we checked at the desk several hours ahead of time and were told to come back after the fireworks. However, when we did return after 10 the room had cleared out and we had our pick of window seats overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon. And though we didn't have a clear view, we were able to see (and hear) the Epcot fireworks when they went off that night.

Overall, I'd rate this as a must-do on anyone's list of the top Disney World bars and lounges.

I haven't been here but wouldn't mind trying it. Can you use the dining plan here? If so, is it one or two credits?

I have been there and it is absolutely wonderful. It is a must see for those adults who want to have some fun and a few cocktails away from the kids while they are visiting Walt Disney World.

It is a signature restaurant so it's 2 credits, and worth every single one!
