Carrot Cake Cookies at the Writer's Stop

My hands down favorite spot to grab a snack at Disney's Hollywood Studios is the Writer's Stop. It's a charming little bookstore and cafe just around the corner between the Streets of America and the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. I'm sure it must get busy in there, but whenever I stop in it has been fairly empty and the perfect spot to grab a seat while deciding what's next in your touring strategy.

Delicious Treats from the Writer's StopDelicious Treats from the Writer's Stop

The bakery case at Writers Stop is always filled with oversized cookies and pastry treats just made for sharing. If that is, you like the people you're touring with enough to share such deliciousness. The treats that often come shaped like Mickey Mouse, can easily be split in two or more portions. During our last visit we tried the Chocolate Chip Mickey Cookie ($3.99), and a Mickey Ear hat Toffee Brownie ($3.99) My snack of choice though is the legendary Carrot Cake Cookie ($3.99).

The Carrot Cake Cookie is actually two large, moist cookies that have been joined together in the middle by a rich, thick cream cheese icing. The cookie is sweet, made with a fine batter with a spicy carrot cake flavor. If you're a carrot cake fan, be sure to put this one on your "must eat" list. You don't have to take my word for it though, this fan favorite made the list of Best Cookies in Disney World by the Disney Food Blog.

The carrot cake cookie has been on my list for years but we have yet to actually try it! Maybe this time.

Just wondering - is this basically a really big whoopie pie? (Maybe that's just the country-from the Amish country girl in me thinking, haha!) Can't wait to try one either way!

That cookie is hands down my favorite snack, and maybe food, in all of Disney. I have at least one per trip, sometimes more, and always buy one on my leaving day to eat on the way home.

Sheena - Yes, you could call it that! But I tend to think of those in terms of chocolate & vanilla. It's the same concept though.

Hi Kristen K.!

I actually make pumpkin cream cheese ones in the fall and peanut butter and chocolate ones just because, totally not relevant to the carrot cake one - but now I am going to attempt that variation! Thanks :)!

We tried one for the first time last fall. It's a LOT of cookie! We shared, and still had more than enough!

I enjoy looking around the Writer's Stop. I haven't tried anything there yet. I usually go after eating at the Sci-Fi. Maybe I'll try something this year.

Basically a whoopee pie made from carrot cake, and (I believe) cream cheese icing filling. It's one of my favorites. Not just the cookie, but the store in general.

It is a cream cheese icing - a really thick one. SO delish!

These are my all time favorite snack in any of the Disney Parks. I recommend them to everyone going to Disney as a must do. The shop is great too and if you're lucky you can snag one of the seats in the window and watch the world go by while you enjoy this delicious treat!
