For some odd reason, I find this picture rather amusing. Smile

It also got 2nd place in the WDWmagic weekly photo contest for Adventureland. So obviously other people liked it as well.

Congrats on second place! I love those guys, but haven't ever taken the opportunity to just plop down and look at 'em. They are quite amusing, aren't they? laugh

Hypermommy:

We love user submissions. Right now the process is just to mail it to us (webmaster) and let us know if you want a watermark on there and we'll put it up. If interest is high I may automate the process.

I have been reluctant to share any of my photos from my last WDW trip, because a) I am totally humbled by ZapperZ's photos and b) I didn't take a lot of what I would call "creative" photos when I was there. (I didn't really have time.) BUT... well, I do have a few I like. This one amuses me. RIP, Adventurer's Club. (Is there a size limit for photos? I can't tell. I hope I don't break the board.)

Okay, not to clutter up this thread, but clearly I don't understand how to insert photos into the posts. I thought we just needed to use the attachment function, but my photo is so small, while Zapper's are so big. How are you posting your photos, Zapper?

I think people generally either put them on ImageShack or Flickr or some such. Can't wait to see your pictures!

SF--I finally just registered for ImageShack (you don't have to pay anything, just get a username and password). Sign in and upload your photos (size them for "forums" or "message boards" on the upload page), and then it will give you a thumbnail version. DON'T take the thumbnail version (it'll be too small). Instead, click on the"my images" tab in the top menu.

This will take you to a page with your pictures. Click on the "i" in a circle next to the image (to share the pic) and it will give you several html versions to choose from. Pick the top one, copy, and paste into your post.

If it's not working properly when you submit the post, make sure you're in "toggle mode"--you can switch to this by pressing the button with the pink and blue "A"s in the Text Formatting area above.

Sounds complicated, but it isn't. Looking forward to more photos!

SoloFriendly: I hope you will continue to post your pictures on here, because if you feel intimidated to do that because of my pictures, then I've done a tremendous disservice to this forum and to this thread. I would feel horrible if I cause anyone to not post their pictures on here. Like I said before, I love, love, love seeing pictures by others, because more often than not, I can actually learn from those. We very seldom take the same pictures, even on the same subject, and these variations can produce a different look. I learn from such things all the time.

As for posting your pictures, as has been said, you need to use a photo hosting service such as Imageshack or Photobucket (I recommend Photobucket). Make sure you've resized your photos before you upload them to those services. You don't want to upload huge files. If you can resize your photo to around 640 by 490 pixel or thereabouts, that would be sufficient for a good display.

After you've uploaded them, look for a DIRECT link to your photo. This is usually one of the options the photo host service gives you. Copy that link.

When you are posting your message, to imbed your photo, use the "Inline Image" button in the text editor. Alternatively, you can do this manually by enclosing the link you copied with the [.img]photo link[./img] tags (remove the period). And that's it!

Zz.

Brad, emailed you links. Use 'em however you see fit.

ZapperZ, love that shot of the Adventurland "statues" (I have no idea what they're actually called... someone help me out?)

Bali, love the pic of the Mickster and friends fishing! Excellent lighting and colors and such!

It doesn't have to be just WDW does it? I didn't take this to be artistic... Mickey Scout asked me to take a picture of him in paradise.... but I just love this pic with the ship in the background? Does this count or shall I come back and edit/delete the picture?

No, I don't think it has to be at WDW. I had a photo of Sleeping Beauty Castle from Disneyland. Yours is as good as any since that's from Castaway Key, isn't it?

Thanks for the compliment!

Love the MickeyScout pic in paradise! That picture alone could sell me on DCL--it's so gorgeous!

This is my most favorite place for an evening stroll. It is such a huge contrast too. You get to see (and hear) the hustle and bustle of Downtown Disney, but yet, just a few yards away, you have this quiet and peaceful path to walk along. Sitting at one of the benches, having supper, and enjoying the evening from here is not a bad way to spend a vacation. Plus, it is our "home".

Hypermommy--great photo! I love it. Both adorable and beautiful at the same time. awesome

Thanks to everyone for the tips on how to share photos. I finally get it now!

Here's the photo from Adventurer's Club that I love so much, which could be captioned: "Becoming an Adventurer: Fail" laugh

My favorite animal photos from WDW:

Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed....

And here's a technical question for those of you more knowledgeable than I: I would like to adjust the brightness/contrast on the upper portion of the picture below (which is overexposed) , but not the lower portion. Is there a way to do that? I don't have the world's great image editing software, just an old version of Paint Shop Pro.

Er.. I'm seeing only blank squares. From the link property, I don't think you are linking the images directly.

Seriously? Oh, wait--I think I know what's wrong. My settings at Phanfare weren't set for public viewing. D'oh. Tell me if you can see them now.

Those look amazing, SF. I really like the fish photo--it's at AK, right?

Not sure how to adjust the brightness on the top of the photo. We have a couple of photo-genius's here who might be able to help.

ZapperZ - yes, it's CC. Where's your quiet picture from?

bali - DCL is WONDERFUL!! I'm so totally hooked.

brad - thanks! But I can't take credit for the set. God built that with the help of an Imagineer or two.

SoloFriendly - LOVE the pic!!! And the gorilla is so wonderful! I use Photoshop so I don't know how to tell you to do anything in PSP, but if you'd like to send me the pic, I can fiddle with it and see what I can come up with. And I love your photos from Italy. Dude, you've really got some photo talent!

That was taken at Saratoga Springs, across the lake from Downtown Disney.

Obviously, this is not from WDW. This was from our "Mini Grand Tour".
