Booking without Membership number

So DH and I bought a resale contract at BLT. It just closed on Monday so we haven't got our membership number yet (apparently it can take 14-28 days). I've been checking availability on the Disney site and BLT seems to be filling up for the week in November we plan on going. There is only a Lake View Studio left (I was hoping for a theme park view Sad )
Anyways to my question, do you think there is any possible way that if we called, maybe they could do something (like hold a room until we get our number)? Or is it basically no membership number, no reservation?

Ahhh I really hope I'm wrong but I think you do need to have your membership number before you can book anything Sad

Yeah thats what I figured. It makes sense really. But I think we might try and call to see if they'll help us out. We've got nothing to lose right awesome

Hey Spook - just wondering if you finally got your membership number? We're still contemplating resale and I was curious how long the whole process took for you from offer to getting your number? Thanks!

Nope still waiting gaah
I'm not sure if it normally takes as long as this or if it's because we bought over the holidays. But our contract was sent to Disney for ROFR December 4 2013. We got confirmation that it passed on December 27 2013 and then it closed on January 27 2014.
We're planning on going in October so I'm starting to get nervous that BLT will be out of studios for then since the 7 month booking window is coming up soon. sad
If you decide to buy resale, I'd make sure to give yourself plenty of time before your next trip to be safe awesome

Wow, that's a long time. Sounds like if we do go ahead, we should leave at least a 3 month window before we can book. Hope you get it soon. Thanks for the update.

Yeah definately give yourselves time. We just called and were not even in the system yet gaah
I had no idea it took this long. I'm getting worried we'll get stuck at SSR or OKW. I'm sure they're nice resorts and everything, but on our first DVC trip ( and first time at a deluxe resort) I'd like to stay at our home resort Sad

Yes, resale is a long process. It took me about 4 months from beginning to end. But your patience will pay off with that good priced DVC contract. Hang in there - it is coming.

Thanks! We were hoping for a Theme Park view October 17-24 but we had to settle for a Lake view October 19-26. That's ok though. Plenty of time to get that Theme Park view. I'm sure the Lake view will be great awesome

Yaaaaaaay! Though if you do stick with lake view, I would totally book that myself next time as I didn't think much of the theme park view, it was really noisy. There's always TOTWL Wink welcome home neighbour! Oh and ps, see ya there Wink
