First Disney Movie You Saw in Theaters?

I was talking about this with my friends, we were trying to remember the first Disney movie we saw in theaters. For me the first Disney movie I went to was Aladdin-1992. The first movie I remember seeing was Lion King-1994. I was 4 years old.

What was the first Disney movie you saw in theaters?

I think it was Bambi. I was 2, but I remember being scared when Bambi's mother died. My parents had sent my sister and I with a neighbour, and when we came home, there was a new puppy waiting for us. I've been a "dog" person ever since! laugh

Thanks for making me feel like this wheelchair

Okay... so... the first Disney Movie I remember seeing in theaters. Umm...

I honestly don't know. My aunt took me to so many movies when I was a child. I'm going to guess that it was probably Robin Hood or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Lion King is probably the first Disney movie I took a child of mine too.

If I remember correctly (hold on to your hats) it was Bambi, when it first came out. probably in 374 BC, but in reality it was either late 40's or early 50's. confused wheelchair what can I say I'm ancient. Like my baby (Corvette) I qualify for antique plates. laugh

I certainly can't remember it, but I've been told my first movie in a theater was Bambi. Looking at the re-released into theater dates, it must have been 1988.

The first two Disney movies I saw were Sleeping Beauty and Darby O'Gill & the Little People (I think that was its name, it's not exactly a Disney classic that everyone remembers). I was 4 or 5, so I don't recall which was first.

Herbie Rides Again at the drive in theater. '74 or '75 I was 6 or 7, loved that movie.

I LOVE Darby O'Gill and the Little People!! Sean Connery was so young and handsome back then. Many times I'll bust out a tune and it will be "You are my dear my darlin; one my similin and beguilin one." My family will just look at me like I'm from another planet, but it's totally the Disney Geek in me shining through!

In an actual movie theather..it was Pocahontas

However, I grew up 10 minutes from a Drive-In and would go all summer...I would guess the Little Mermaid was probably the first I saw there, but I would have been 4. mickey

I remember seeing Little Mermaid at the Base Theater in Dam Neck, VA. I had only been out of Boot Camp a few weeks and I was at my training school station. I was really lonely and far from home, one of the guys in my class "took me out" and we saw the Little Mermaid. LoL... I ended up a sobbing mess because at that point in time I totally couldn't figure out why any girl would ever want to leave home.

First movie I ever saw in theaters was Aladdin in 1992! I was 3 and I made my aunt & cousin who took me sit in the front row because I was too little to see over the other people.

We went to see the Shaggy DA at the drive in. I can still remember it because when the DA transformed into the dog (a sheep dog like my Willow by the way) my little brother was totally traumatized and ended up having nightmares about dog men for many years after that. Maybe that's why he's not too crazy about my Willow. wink

Wow, that is a tough question! I think . it was either The Absent Minded Professor or The Miracle of the Stallions. My big sister took me to the drive in.

I am wheelchair

The first Disney movie I saw in a theatre was a drive-in. My dad took me to see Jungle Book in May 1968.

It was definitely Bambi; like probably every kid who's seen that movie, I was very upset when Bambi's mother was killed. This would have been when Bambi came BACK to theaters, though, sometime in the 70's...I wasn't yet born when it first came out.
