The Most Magical Place On Earth Is Here..

Good Morning Folks...Phew...Let me sit down for a moment...Well you know how the song goes..The trolley parade sings " The most magical place on earth is here." ...I've just opened a E- Mail this morning from an old friend who attended one of my Disney house parties last year..I should explain to new comers that I host Disney parties about twice a year for friends who love all things Disney...Anyway this couple have a 8 year old girl who, how can I explain this, well she has this inferior thing where she doesn't mix with other kids, she sulks 24/7..Her appetite is non existent, her parents have taken her to see a specialist who says she'll grow out of it..At our party, she just sat in a corner and watched TV..Never spoke a word, whilst the rest of the kids played away..It was kinda scary and weird..So let's get to the really scary stuff...They have just recently returned from their first ever Disney vacation...They had saved up for two years and went for 14 nights at AoA...I should also explain their little girl gets private tuition as she just cried non stop when put into school..Where was I...Oh Yeh..The scary stuff...Like a miracle she has come out of, not my words, the parents words..Her coma... eek From day one they noticed her smiling and laughing out loud, then dancing along to the parades..talking non stop to the characters when getting her photos taken..In fact at night, she wouldn't go to sleep, she kept on telling her mum and dad about the great day she had,and couldn't wait until tomorrow....Now that their back home she is still going on about her vacation..Her birthday is next week and she wants a big birthday party with kids her age that she never used to talk to..Mum and Dad are still in shock..." She won't stop talking " they told me..Even the neighbours are jaw drop struck about this transformation...I replied to them saying " It's nothing short of a miracle." Now their saving like hell for a return trip in 2015...And yes..She is now attending school and doing great..also eating like a horse..Can I explain it.?...Nope..Can their doctor explain it.?..Nope..Can any of you out their explain it.?

Have you read the story about Ben Miles? He's autistic and both of his divorced parents moved across the country so that he could live near WDW because the effects of him being at Disney were most effective therapy that they found for him. I know others have posted about this story, but like your friend's story, this shows the REAL magic that this place called Disney gives to people every day. I think the secret ingredient is love--Families laugh and play together. Amazing cast members distribute random acts of kindness to perfect strangers. Entertainment and Imagineering build a complete escape for us where we can leave the world behind. All of these components are created out of love--love for each other, love for an ideal, love for a legacy of dreams. That love creates an environment where not just magic, but miracles can happen! mickey

muchlove Disney *is* a miracle worker! I agree that it's all the love in the parks...the positive vibes and good will. I know that I (and DH) felt a great improvement in our mental health upon our return home, after a visit in January. Smile

It's more of a eat, drink, kinda thing..Everyone brings a bottle of something, and a tray of food..It's usually more females than males..about 4-1..And we watch someone's Disney vacation video or DVD and swop ideas,stories,tips,etc...My DS entertains the kids..( daddy day care ) Usually around 10 to 16 people and I once had a Disney dress up party..But the looks on my neighbours faces when the turned up.. eek

I understand the 4-1 ratio. I have to admit my husband isn't the Disney fan. sad So that is why most of the time I go with my girlfriend (as he went last year and doesn't want to go back again). So I think in my next life before I say yes to lets get married am going to ask if he loves Disney and if he says no...I will have to move on. laugh

Believe it or not..I'am more of a Disneyholic compared to my DW...I always listen to Mouse Radio on my I- Pad in the kitchen and it drives her daft...LOL...And I get way more emotional at Disney stuff like stories I read or seeing Cinderella's Castle on our first day/ night..

You host Disney parties? That is something I'm positive most people would never think of doing, at least not me. I seriously wish I could attend one of those......

Anyway, one thing is certain is that Disney is a powerful and well-recognized brand that obviously appeals to a lot of people. For me, it started with the movies and TV, then progressed to the parks like most people. It doesn't matter what part of the world you're from. Disney is able to make a great environment and atmosphere for the park guests to enjoy. Do I personally wish parts of that could be better and improved? No question about it, yes, but that discussion is for another time.

Moving on, I'm sure some of have or have not heard about him. But if you haven't, here's another autistic Disney World fan named Tommy Des Brisay. He has a YouTube channel run by his mother and it's a vlog about his life. He's a track runner from Canada but he goes Disney World practically every year since 2009 from what I understand. His interactions with the characters are priceless. (I am a bit jealous he gets more time with the characters but at the same time, the things he says, the knowledge he has about their movies, are the things the characters want to hear.)

Anyway, here is the main site to learn more about him:

And here's his YouTube channel:

Don't believe I did. I did notice it was taking a very long time to post. Seems fine since. Maybe it has something to do with the weather that am having. Puzzled

What a wonderful story! I am so glad she is doing well! I wonder if special souvenirs/your Disney parties can help to keep the magic alive for her until the family can return again and/or she comes out of her shell permanently.

What a sweet and wonderful story of the real magic of Disney muchlove

King Fergus

Well I spoke with her parents at the weekend as we were in Glasgow..and she is still doing great at school..I told them I put the story on a Disney fan base but kept their names secret..They are still so puzzled why this has happened, but so happy..Maybe it was something that just triggered off her imagination and made her believe in something she didn't have..Friendship..I get the feeling she was being bullied because she was introvert and this made her an easy target..Long may the magic last in her heart.
