waiting Last year we purchased new mugs and had them activated. We will be at Pop Century again on the 22nd of this month. Can we get the mugs we have reactivated or must we buy new ones? waiting

I think you have to buy new ones... But I'm not 100% sure

I don't know if they've gotten to all of the resorts yet, but I know that they were working in putting RFID chips in the mugs and cups that were purchased at the resorts so that they only work at the resort where you purchase and are set to allow the number of refills indicated at the time of purchase. Using an old mug might not work anymore since it won't have a chip. I read that some people had been told that they could use the mug for life when they originally purchased them. I'm not sure what they're doing to accommodate people who are in that situation.

This is really confusing, I was told (and read online) that the new RFID resort cups were able to be used at multiple resorts, I specifically asked as I'm a resort changer and was told that was the case. I'll be really sad if they do change it to be one resort only

I think they are now in all resorts. When we stayed at ASMovies in 2013 they had them and I think we could only use them there ( or at least that's what we thought). Being able to use them at any resort is new I think. I hope so anyway since we have a split stay in September crossfingers

I was told the new RFID mugs could be used at any resort as long as it's valid (ie length of stay) and last week we filled our mugs at GF and BC

They can be used at any resort as long as they are active. I bought one in October at All Star Sports and was able to use it when I moved to POR.

Back to Joe's question..... I seem to remember reading (not sure where) that someone was able to have a mug reactivated but had to pay the same price as if they were buying a brand new one. Don't quote me on this as I don't remember where or when I read this. I don't know if this is standard practice.

So far I can confirm using the same mug when staying at more than one resort during a single trip. You just have to purchase enough days to cover the entire trip to begin with. I have not yet been able to confirm paying for the reactivation of using a mug from an older trip.

wink For those of you that don't go back so far in Disney memories, the first mugs we bought were in 1991 at Ft. Wilderness. At that time the mugs were supposed to be good for free drinks any time we stayed at that resort. Right! "The check is in the mail !" and "The bank made a mistake!"

Just like many of you I have a collection of resort mugs. Never ever was I told that I could reuse one after my LOS was over. Not even back in the 90's
