October Hours in the Parks..

Hi Everyone...Just a quick question..As our previous trips were all in July, the parks as you all well know open late..Tho I've never managed to make it past the witching hour..I'am sure I read that in October, the parks close early..Can anyone give me a rough idea what time MK closes in that month.?..I won't be able to see the times until a few months yet and I'am too excited to wait that long..P.S...Do they still do the midnight kiss at MK in October.?..

Off the top of my head -

October is tricky for when the Magic Kingdom closes because several days out of the week Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is going on. On those nights, guests without the MNSSHP wrist bands need to leave the park at 7pm. On other days the park will close at 9 or 10pm after Wishes. Unless you are staying for the Halloween Party - you're not going to be in the Parks until midnight.

Epcot is usually open until 9pm and closes after Illuminations, unless there are extra magic hours, and then it will be open until 11pm.

Cheers again Kristen..Have you any idea how much the scary night is, and also can you book it when you arrive at your resort.?

Halloween Party tickets should be announced around May 1st. At least that is when they have been released over the last couple of years. It is somewhere about $60 a person (again off the top of my head). You can get tickets when you arrive at your resort for some nights. However, the party does sometimes sell out on Fri/Sat nights and the closer to October 31st you get, it's a safer option to purchase them before you leave if you want to go on a specific night.

Cheers...Had a wee peek at the 2013 nights available and there's 6 nights out of our 12 night stay that we can try..Not worried about any particular night...

When we were there in October, there was only one park that had EMH one evening due to the Halloween parties, I'm sure. But all the other days, there was a different park that opened for EMH in the mornings, at 8:00.

The Halloween party was fantastic and yes, it was around $60. I would suggest that if you have many options, go for a Sunday or Tuesday night. They were traditionally (when I researched) less crowded. We went on Sunday and it was great because I'm assuming all the kiddos had school the next day, so the parents didn't want to keep them out until midnight. It was crowded, as they all are, but not elbow shoving crowded. We had no issues going around and doing things at all.

Oh, and the MK was the park that had the EMH one night we were there until 1.

I just pulled out my notes from Oct. 2012....

We went to Animal Kingdom on a Monday-it was open 8am - 5pm
then we hopped over to MK which was open till Midnight.

Tuesday Epcot had EMH from 8am-9am and the park was open till 9pm.

Wednesday we did Hollywood which was 9am-8pm
then when it closed we hopped to Epcot which had EMH till Midnight.

Thursday was MK 9am-7pm then it closed for MNSSHP.
We went to MNSSHP that night. I can't speak for the crowds as
much as we had a thunderstorm/monsoon and was rained out.

Here are a list of the park hours for that week
(it was the first week of October)

HOURS:

Magic Kingdom
(1)Monday: 9am-9pm/9pm-Mid
(2)Tuesday: 9am-9pm
(3)Wednesday: 9am-9pm
(4)Thursday: 8am-9am/9am-7pm/7pm-mid MNSSHP
(5)Friday: 9am-7pm

Epcot 9am-9pm (Future World) 11am-9pm (World Showcase) (10pm Friday)
*Magic Hours* Tuesday 8am-9am * Wednesday 9pm to Midnight

Hollywood 9am-8pm

Animal 9am-5pm
*Magic Hours* Monday 8am-9am * Friday 8am-9am

MNSSHP was $65.29 a person. It was cheaper to pre-buy
online and for during the week.

I was going to say, there was the odd night during our last Oct trip that MK was open till 1am. Those were the best nights, the park was empty by about 11:30pm no waits for anything Smile

I know for certain that the MK was open until 1am on 19 Oct last year as on the stroke of midnight and the dawn of my 50th birthday I was kissing the big cheese himself and we were the only one there. Try and stay awake it was a quite magical time in the park.

Not sure if this helps anyone, but the schedule for last October is here:

http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_oct.pdf

Right now its showing the 2013 park hours, but is supposed to automatically update to the 2014 park hours when they are released around March 15.
