our first magical squirrelly adventure!

We're on our way, sort of. We're at a hotel in Romulus, Michigan, right across the highway from the Detroit airport. The weather here is somewhat icky, snowy and getting colder by the hour. Our flight to Orlando leaves tomorrow, Monday, at 10:05 A.M., though some delay won't be unexpected.
I wasn't able to bring my laptop so updates will be sparse until our return, though I'll be taking loads of photos and have brought a notebook to write in.

Have fun. I don't think there's enough glop and snow to affect your flight tomorrow. (We're in London).

There is a tie dye cheesecake in our little fridge! Had a mickey pretzel too. Went to MK; the castle lights are still up and they look amazing. It was a very surreal experience, walking through the tunnel into Main Street. After seeing so many pictures, it felt pretty much like a dream, I kept expecting to wake up! Saw Wishes!, the show designed to make people cry! Absolutely stunning, it affected me deeply.
Had fast pass for Anna & Elsa and then Tink. They were so fun and playful! Forgot my autograph book at the hotel. Fast Pass+ rocks my socks! Neither meet and greet had a wait longer than five minutes! Then I walked on to IASW. Am I the only one who thinks some of those dolls are very creepy?
Had a great view of the MSEP, which was impressive. Took lots of pictures, hopefully some will turn out good.
Time for bed, Crystal Palace at 8:30!

Sounds like an amazing first day! You are correct, no matter how many times I see Wishes, the waterworks start....

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom : A brief synopsis, full report will be written upon our return.

We met our CM friend at Crystal Palace and had breakfast. Good food, great character interactions.

Attractions: Peter Pan"s Flight, It's a small world, Mickey's Philharmagic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Barnstormer, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Mad Tea Party, Space Mountain, Princess Fairytale Hall (Anna & Elsa, Cinderella, and Rapunzel), Ariel's Grotto, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Saw the Festival of Fantasy parade, Celebrate the Magic, and Wishes!

Had a dole whip, rainbow cheesecake, Mac n' Cheese at Friars Nook, and a cream cheese mickey pretzel at The Lunching Pad.

Favorite attractions so far: Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan's Flight, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Also loved the Tiki Room. That song is going to be stuck in my head forever.

Favorite moments so far; Tinker Bell flying over our heads, the graveyard at Haunted Mansion, getting a hug from Tink, and flying over London with Peter Pan.

We are tired. But it was worth it. We got to do everything we wanted to at Magic Kingdom except Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. We're going again on Friday. We'll be able to focus on meeting characters!

Day 3 - Disney's Hollywood Studios! Made it to the park by 9:30 and went straight to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. No fast pass but the list be was only about 40 minutes, though it was posted as twenty. Despite being rather nervous I managed to conquer my fear and enjoyed it, the highlight being of course the initial high speed take off. The ride photo was hilarious, me with a scrunched up face of fear.
Knowing there were only a few must-do attractions on my list, I focused upon finding characters, managing to meet Donald Duck, Pluto, Chip & Dale (who were not amused by my lack of pins featuring themselves, throwing my autograph book on the ground and pouting!), Sorcerer Mickey, Sofia the First, and Jake the Neverland Pirate.
The Magic of Disney Animation was awesome; Donald Duck was the lesson of the day. Q
'won' the animator's copy of the drawing by answering a trivia question, knowing that Donald's middle name was Fauntleroy. Then I somehow lost it somewhere, so upon leaving I reported the loss to guest services.
Walked on to Star Tours which was fun. Found Phineas and Ferb and a green army guy too. Had fast pass for Toy Story Midway Mania but it broke down about a minute into the ride and was evacuated.
Wandered around taking pictures for a while. The place is a real maze. Had a nice filling lunch, and enjoyed Walt Disney: One Man's Dream.
Found the one "must have" item on my list, a Duffy bear with a Sorcerer Mickey costume!
Went to the Disney Junior show and loved it. It is so very cute. Where was Doc McStuffins when I was a child?
The highlight of the day was For the First Time in Forever: A "Frozen" Sing-Along Celebration. Listening to several hundred people sing the songs sent chills down my spine. "Do you want to build a snowman", made mecshed a tear or ten. " Let it Go" was unforgettable.
Then... I missed Fantasmic! Just as I got to it a cast member announced it was at capacity. I will be going back on Sunday.
