Palo - Brunch or Diner?

Hello Disney Cruisers!

If you could only pick Palo for one meal, which would it be Brunch or Dinner? How come you chose that one?

Never been. But if I had to choose just one, I think I would choose dinner because it would seem more special than brunch.

We've only been there for dinner and it was FABULOUS! I liked the romantic atmosphere at night, but I would like to give it a try for brunch sometime though.

Ok I haven't had brunch there.... But the dinner still ranks as the best meal both me and Sy have ever eaten

I'll go against the grain and choose brunch over dinner. We've done several Palo meals and my favorite is brunch, the buffet, the chicken parm and the desserts can't be beat. The view and serenity inside the dining room are fantastic! Dinner is tasty but there's no view, it's dark out on the water and to me it's less romantic.

I'd be with my daughter, so I don't need romance - however I love a great view and I remember eating dinner at Palo to just a view of black. It's wasn't the most interesting thing but the food was amazing! I looked up the time that sunset is and if we get into Palo early for dinner we might get something really lovely.

On this last cruise, we had our dinner at 5:45 pm, and it was still light outside, so we started out our dinner with a view. Of course, that changed soon enough and it is all dark outside by the time we had our entree.

A few of our friends will be going on The Fantasy this October and will do brunch at Palo. Since they also have had dinner at the Palo on The Dream, they will be able to compare the two, and I'll report on what they think when I get them.

Zz.

I was able to book both for February!
banana So excited! banana

I love Palo dinner and our seating time is supposed to be 5 minute after sunset, so I think we'll have cocktails at Meridian before dinner. Hopefully we'll be able to watch the sunset once we're seated. Does anyone know if they will serve the Colette Cocktail at Meridian?

I'm super excited about brunch though because that will be a new one for me. It was available on our Nassau day and since we're not leaving the ship it's the perfect treat.

Much prefer Palo on the Dream v.s. the Magic. There is a walking/running deck right outside Palo on the Magic and I got tired of people drooling all over the window!! laugh

I've done both Palo Brunch and Palo Dinner. Palo Brunch is special. The choices are incredible: Alaskan King crab legs, oysters, caviar, the best chicken Parmesan on risotto, made to order individual pizzas, made to order omelets, desserts (OMG!). You will have to see Pinterest or You Tube pictures. My description alone does not justify it.

Just wanted to go back to this post and say that I still LOVE Palo, now that I've done both Brunch and Dinner, I would be hard pressed to pick one over the other. This Northern Italian restaurant continues to be my very favorite of all Disney Restaurants. Here are just a few pictures of the Brunch I took.

We were absolutely stuffed and couldn't finish our sweets. We asked the waiter if we could get a box to take them and eat them later. Is answer was to tell us that it wasn't allowed. But - that if we wanted to walk out of the restaurant with the plate, no one would say a thing. His name was David and we had him at both lunch and dinner there. He was awesome! muchlove

How would you rate Palo against the deluxe restaurants at WDW? The food looks delicious!

Even better than California Grill, both food and service! Even the atmosphere and view are amazing. The only thing missing is Wishes.

I haven't gotten to do the signature breakfasts at the resorts yet so I can't compare that. But overall Palo is absolutely a higher level than most of the WDW Signature Dining I've had. I would put it right in the middle of WDW Signature and V&A class dining.

The food is excellent and fairly friendly to several levels of picky eaters. You are welcome to order anything from the menu you'd like, so if you're looking for 8 courses, go right ahead. Wine list is lovely, flavors are solid for Northern Italian, the service though - the service is out of this world attentive. Our server David bent over backwards to make sure that we had the very best of everything, that we were happy with everything, he brought us extra goodies to try. If you eat before the sun goes down the view is out of this world. The way that people are sat at the tables makes it very intimate even when the next table over if full. The cocktails, the grappa, the chocolate souffle' - I can not say enough wonderful things about Palo.

All of this.... laugh

We've only done dinner and it was awesome. The antipasta cart was a thing of my dreams. I REALLY need to try brunch.
