Sy's 30th Birthday trip, October 2012 the pre-trip

So disappointing i have never been to a dinnershow at wdw before so was lookig forward to it ah well

Another Update!

Have had yet another shuffle of our ADR's to fit in Dine with an imagineer I know how much Sy will enjoy this, I am worried about food for me though as I'm such a fussy eater (cause of tummy problems). I have had a look at the menu though and although there isn't much on there I can eat, I know I can eat stuff from the kids menu so if need be I'm sure they will give me something from there (I hope anyway!). Have booked it for 24th October " the only day available for our entire trip! So needed to jiggle our days around and we are now doing HS on that day, it did mean we had to cancel our ADR for the 16th at 50's prime time but have squeezed it in for dinner on the 8th at 9pm in EMH.

So our ADR's now look like
Sat 6th Captain's Grille 9:15am & Sanaa at 8pm
Sun 7th Teppan Edo 7:40pm
Mon 8th Sci-Fi Dine In 2pm, 50's Prime time 9pm
Tues 9th Yak & Yeti 2pm & Wolfgang Puck 9:30pm
Wed 10th Coral Reef 8pm

And non DDP ADR's
Thurs 18th Via Napoli 7pm
Wednesday 24th Hollywood Brown Derby 11:30am for Dine with an Imagineer

Also booked today MNSSHP! So we are definitely doing it on the 5th Oct. Now I need to get my finger out and start thinking costumes " bit hard as hubby isn't going to know till his birthday in September so will have to do some digging to see what he fancies. At least I know he does like dressing up, will try to dig out some photos of him in various outfits!

This was him dressed up as an electrocution victim (he had to carry a toaster on his hand all night!)

Annoyingly that's the only one I can find, there are many though, including Silent Bob (a personal favourite of mine!)

Just want to say, UNDER 100 DAYS!!! Woooooohooooooo!

Time for another update!

Well a lot has happened since my last update. Firstly, woohoo! Under 100 days :D

Another update is a biggie, after taking all the time to upload pictures of our villa we're now not going to be staying there! I was showing a friend where it is in proximity to Disney (its very close), and noticed it was on a for sale website I went into a complete panic, emailed the owner who confirmed that yes, it is up for sale Anyway, after a long chat on the phone and talking to the rest of the family we decided that we didn't want to risk the possibility of them not being able to honor the booking and they have offered to give us our deposit back.

We have found another villa we like very much, even more than the first one! Its rather large at 7 bedroom but they are doing us a good deal, not much more than the 1 we had booked. I will take the time to upload and bore you with lots of pictures of that one too hehehehe. The villa is still on Emerald Island and we will probably be able to see the pool of the house we would have been staying in.

As it now looks almost certain that my parents wont be joining us, we have taken 2 days off of the start of the villa booking, as the rest of the group wont be joining us in Orlando until the 16th and we get back from the cruise on the 14th. There seemed little point in paying PS250 for 2 nights in the villa on our own when we could pay PS250 for 2 nights in DISNEY!!!!!!!!! So I have been looking at booking 2 nights onsite as a surprise for Simon. I have emailed a few people about renting DVC points but currently there isn't any availability for anything other than SSR, when I think hubby would really like AKL or BLT (I don't hold out any hope for BLT though, not at this short notice). I am hoping there might be a cancellation though.

I haven't even thought about costumes for MNSSHP yet, I want us to have something *unusual* but I'm not sure what that is yet! If you have any ideas please feel free to let me know

We have decided that we will upgrade our Disney tickets to annual passes so that we can get 2 cheapie, last minute trips in next year, we will spend less on 2 trips next year than we have on this year's 1 trip but its for Simon's 30th so I guess I will let him off

Time for another update!!

Well have just found out that Hoop De Doo is available now (and not down for a refurb like I was told on the phone!) so I have just made us an ADR for the 9th and cancelled Wolfgang Puck " we will have to get there for a QS meal instead and pay OOP for one of our other meals

Counting down the time till I can book Palo on our cruise " 28th July I can book from as we're cruise first timers

Still no closer to MNSSHP outfits I did think possibly we could do Sweeny Todd and Mrs Lovett, but would rather something a bit more 'Disney' but feeling a bit clueless

I am now getting to the stage where its dragging it has been soooooo far away for such a long time that I thought about other things (one thing has been my mum being so poorly and looking after her), but its slowly creeping into my mind more and more, its becoming all i think and dream about LOL I think i need help LOL

Probably the most exciting update EVER!

My parents are coming with us!

I know its sappy, but I cried when my mum called and told me earlier.

They have come into a little bit of money (only a little though, only enough really to pay for the flights, they will still need to save for the park tickets and spending money). I am just over the moon They need a break so much, mum has been unwell since last September and she so needs a holiday to relax. They have the animals sorted already, friends of there are going to stay at their house, they live with their parents still so are very grateful for the space.

Called Anne and Cliff to tell them and they were so excited too

My parents will be booking their flights hopefully next weekend once the money comes

We get back from the cruise on the 14th and looking to stay onsite for 2 nights when we get back we are planning on being in MK on the 15th

Yet another update!

Just booked a 2 bed AKL Villa at Kidani Village with DVC points YAY! Was going to book just a 1 bed but the owner knew of the problems with my mum (they are staying in it with us, its before everyone else arrives in Orlando) he didn't want either me (who is paying for it) or my mum (who isn't well) staying on the sofa bed, so he offered to do it cheaper so that we could get a 2 bed, how nice is that?

Also had YET ANOTHER reshuffle of days, trying to work the holiday for everyone has been quite difficult, Steve is poorly so trying to sort his park days so that they are spaced out and that he can rest, same goes for my mum " and they are doing different park days to each other, was a bit of a 'mare but I think I've finally cracked it " if its possible for us to swap our Spirit Of The Swamp tour, have emailed them but waiting on a reply - lets hope that they arent fully booked as its still 3 months or so away!
