Sy's 30th Birthday trip, October 2012 the pre-trip

Ah thank you, I'm beside myself with excitement! And already thinking forward to may next year when we go again (hopefully!)

Well as my parents are now coming with us, I guess I should get on with introducing them too

My mum (mum hates having her photo taken so this is the best I can do! Cant find one of her on her own at all!!)

Had heart failure last September (on our wedding anniversary actually, quite inconsiderate of her!), never wanted to go to Disney, didn't like American people, American food, American way of life etc... you get where I'm going with this. Her first trip was spent in a state of shock " mainly at how wrong she was about not liking it! She hasn't looked back since
This will be mum's first trip since being in a wheelchair pretty much full time, so will be a bit different, she will need to take it a lot slower than before. She was MOST upset that she wont be able to go on the Tower of Terror " her favourite ride! But since speaking to her heart specialist she was told it will be fine to go on it as the condition of her heart is different from most and it wont bother her. she is very pleased

Dad's health isn't all that great either, he has to have 2 new knees but been putting it off cause he's needed to look after mum. I was worried about him pushing mum round the parks so I practically forced mum to get an electric wheelchair! It will take the strain off my dad a bit. She's used it a few times now and gets on great with it

Dad will go on pretty much any ride " he has no fear! When I was about 16 I went to Florida with just him and my mum so he had to ride everything with me

My parents aren't going to do Discovery Cove, they aren't really fussed about doing it plus it's a lot of money and mum could do with some rest days

They have been to Florida 4 times, this will be their 5th trip " their last was in 2010.

Think I have decided on MNSSHP outfits Greek God & Goddess. I had loads of other ideas but I want something that isn't too hot for me or Sy. Something that we can wear flip flops with (as that's all we wear on holiday) and nothing with a short skirt on for me. Plus I'm fussy, I didn't want anything frumpy, and all the cute outfits were for skinny girls " of which I'm not LOL. This didn't leave very many costume ideas. Mine is a long dress which is very pretty and I'm going to make Sy's like the photo below but with blue in it to match in with my dress Also going to buy in a gold leaf headband

Less than 3 weeks! EEEEK!

I cant believe how quickly these last few months have come round. One minute I'm doing my double digit dance, the next I'm almost into single figures.

The reveal went well, Sy had no idea. I made a little film to tell him and showed him the week before his birthday at his birthday party with about 40 friends and family watching too, he was really emotional and so happy. I'm glad I didn't listen to my mum and not tell him anything till we get there, this way he's been in on some of the planning and research " looking at menus etc. He must have watched the film 10 times already.

I've almost finished making Sy's costume for MNSSHP, I couldn't get any blue trim and I didn't like the dress I'd chosen once I'd been to try it on, it was completely see-through! I have now ordered another online though so hopefully that will come in the next few days

I've started getting the clothes out ready to pack, I don't want to pack just yet cause my cat isn't very well and she gets upset when we go away, I don't want to upset her any sooner than need be. I have been out grabbing a few bargains in the end of summer sales so need to sort through what I want to take and what wont fit in the case hehehe.

I have booked us a breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe on our first morning instead of Captains Grille as my friend has just started working as a server there last week, so we're hoping he will be working on that day (he doesn't know yet as he's also working the character breakfast there) but if you're headed there and there's a British guy called James as your server tell him Robyn says hello

The only thing putting a downer on the trip is my cat I'm ever so worried about her, she's 20 and I've had her since the day she was born (my parents still have her grandmother who is 22!). We have a lovely couple coming to stay to look after both of the cats but I'm still worried, only cause she's my baby. Plus I'm home all day and can keep an eye on her whereas they both work so will only be here in the evenings and over night. She seems to have perked up over the last day or so though so I'm hoping she will be fine by the time we go. My aunt doesn't work so I might ask her to pop over a few times in the day if need be. If she's no better she can stay at my mum's house for 2 out of the 3 weeks and stay at the vets for a week (I have already asked). I'm hoping it wont come to that though. She can stay with my mum until they fly out, go to stay with the vets for a week and then go back to mum's house as my sister is staying that week and has looked after her before.

Just need to put a few films on my iPad in prep for our flight and I'm ready to go.

3 weeks right now we'll be in Magic Kingdom! Woohoo!
