Visitors at resorts vs. pool hopping question

We all know that on cash reservations, pool hopping is officially not allowed by Disney, but Im not sure how that applies in this situation. We are visiting Labor Day Weekend and staying at Art of Animation. Out in-laws are traveling with us, but opted for the less expensive room at Pop. I know that Disney is pretty strict on straight up pool hopping, especially to more popular pools like those at AoA, but are you allowed to visit a resort guest and swim together if you are staying at a different resort? Can we meet them at Pop and swim together there? Would they be allowed to "pool hop" to AoA if they are with us?

My totally unofficial (and in no way for sure answer) is that they'll be fine because they are your guest. As long as you don't have too many people, and they go in the gate with you, I can't imagine that there would even be a question. Honestly, I'd give the resort a call and ask.

I have never had a problem having guests at the pool in the past - however - the caveat is that all my experiences are before they put the fencing in.

Thanks, Kristen. That's kind of what I thought, too. I didn't know if they were maybe more strict about it at AoA because of the proximity to Pop. I would think that we could visit the pool at Pop with the in-laws without a problem but that the other direction might not work. We tried to switch to Pop with them, but it's sold out sad

I errrrr on the side of, could they be staying in your room with you? Ie, if your room sleeps 4, there are 2 of you and you have 2 guests. They *could* be staying with you if you wanted to sleep 4 to a room. If you were already sleeping 4 in your room i would maybe feel differently. But Disney always do their best to make things work, if you stop by the front desk or ask a lifeguard I'm 99% sure if you wanted to all swim together, there wouldn't be a problem.
