Disney Weddings offer something for just about everyone as far as theming a weeding goes. As my husband and I start to consider our 20th Vow Renewal, we've decided to go with an "Adventurer" Theme. I'm pretty jazzed about it, and i'm looking forward to planning a Disney adventure filled trip with lots of fun for my guests.
If you were planning a Disney theme wedding, what would your theme be?
Star Wars. I'd be Princess Leia, hubby would be Han Solo. Hubby's best man brother would be Chewbacca! And due to the dearth of female characters in the original trilogy, my matron of honor sister would have to be a droid, probably R2D2. (No, we are not going back to the prequel trilogy for a female character.) And guests would be free to dress in costume.
Cool thing is, thanks to Episode VII we could do it today if we wanted to, we'd just have to be old Princess Leia and old Han Solo. Oh! And then sis could be a female character. She's probably want Rey, but I'd want her to be the orange chick.

Definitely Nightmare Before Christmas! It is my all time favorite movie and it kind of represents me well: kind of dark with a really light-hearted side.

Thanks Robyn! I'm thinking that we'll go for an AKL Grand Villa, we have a guest list of about 20 people. With all the new bars and restaurants I think we'll have an easy time of doing a sort of Adventurers Tour, Trader Sam's, Jock Lindsey's, Jungle Navigation Co.
My friends are very steampunk, so I thought that a night at MNSSHP would be fun, but now I'm holding my breath to hear about the new costume rules. My thought is that if we can't wear steampunk to the Park that we'll hit the Edison and Neverland tunnels. The Edison in LA is a Steampunker Mecca so it's very usual to see all eras of clothing there.
Our friends will need some time to save money for the trip, so I already sent save the dates. This is what they looked like.

WOW, that looks awesome! I am sure at some point we will have to do a renewal of our vows at Disney but since we JUST passed our 2nd year married, I am sure Joe will want to put that off for quite some time! LOL

Thank you! I did them myself. The cards were wrapped in brown paper with jute cording that held on some silk jungle-ish leaves and feathers, and a little artifact "charms". Some had bronze elephants, a buddha statue, or a hamsa. They were pretty cute. I neglected to take a picture of it all together though - I'll do better with the rest.
I love the save the date cards.
OMG LOVE that theme and the Save the Date Cards. I wish we could do our wedding at Disney World, but our friends and family couldn't afford it. So we are having a huge wedding here 200+ guests.
As you know our theme is Tangled.
Sounds like you might be down there about the same time we are if you are planning on doing MNSSHP. Also waiting to hear the rules as far as costumes go.
