What are you doing for New Year's Eve?

For 4 of the past 5 NYE's we have been in disneyland Paris, last year was without a doubt the best (bar the first as that's when Sy proposed), so I'm feeling a bit down that we won't be there this year Sad we have DVC to pay off Wink we have invited Hayley and Gareth to stay so I'm sure we will still have a fab time, going to get in some party food and some drinks and just generally have a good evening at home.

What about everyone else, what are your plans?

Smile

My usual News Years Eve tradition is to stay home fall asleep on the couch watching TV and wake up right after midnight and go to bed.

I am not a New Year's Eve reveler. I will probably be in bed before the new year arrives.

I'm not much of a New Years person either. If I'm still up at midnight I probably won't even notice it laugh

We're doing Japanese Steakhouse with my parents and their friends and then we're meeting up with my bestie and his wife to play some Disney Trivial Pursuit until the ball or whatever drops. THey have a lot of Christmastime family obligations, so we haven't seen them since we got home!! We still have their Christmas presents/ consolation gifts from them not being able to join us at WDW!

New Year's has not traditionally been a strong holiday for us. If you haven't read my intro story, we spent New Year's Eve at MK on our honeymoon--at least until 4:00 when the crowds became completely unbearable and the noisemaker distribution began. We retreated back to our hotel and I fell asleep around 9:00pm...for 12 hours...here we were at WDW and I didn't even see the ball drop on TELEVISION!! Our celebrations have declined in excitement level since then! LOL

Ditto on the jealousy.

We usually get together with some friends and their kids and grandkids, play some games, have a few nibbles, nothing rowdy or elaborate. But it's always fun.

We usually are on the couch and in bed by 10:00PM. I can't remember a New Years Eve when we did not do that! I don't like getting out on the roads on that evening....too many drunk people driving around!

I was thinking how fun it would be to be at WDW! The crowds would annoy me, I am sure!

I had such a great time last year that I'm bummed at doing nothing this year.

Last year we rented a couple of suites at Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park and it was a blast. It was great because the whole family could participate. They had a big party in the lobby and it was great fun.

This year a couple of people have to work, and a couple can't make it so.....nothing. Just a little party at home.

NYE at Epcot is on my to do list. NYE at Disney is the best. I've done two and I can't wait to do another.

Working for ASO is just amazing. If you live anywhere a city with symphony or theater, they also typically have a volunteer usher corps. GREAT way to see stuff for free and make friends who love the arts too.

Count me in the pile of you who will be in bed before midnight! Concert ends about 10 PM!

Nothing exciting for us. DH has to work New Year's day, so he'll probably be in bed by 10 p.m. We are not party people - we usually set up a puzzle, or buy a new game, and friends are invited to drop by for 10 minutes, or hours. biggrin This year, everyone seems to be working, or just staying in. sad

My dad was a policeman here when I was growing up (he's retired now), he hated New Year's Eve, said it was the night when most people were killed all year Sad from drunken fights. NYE and Christmas Day he hated most of all year and Christmas Day was awful with domestics Sad

Love your cats! My two are deprived - they need perches like that. They hang out on the back of couches. mickey

Thanks! The tortoiseshell is Callie and the big black and white guy (ok, mostly black) is Casey. They are brother and sister and both are big lap cats, which we love. They also love to climb!

I'll be asleep on the couch for NYE, but New Year's Day brings a 5K followed by a 2hr yin yoga "ring in the new year" workshop. Followed by a steak!!
