What new pavilion would you like to see at Epcot?

There's been talk of either Brazil or Austrialia being built but I would like to see Russia. That would be awesome with all the architecture.....WOW! I would rather see Australia in AK. Any thoughts?

I immediately thought India when i read this topic (but i might be thinking with my stomach since i luv me some Indian food). I think India would be a great choice to display architecture as well, just think a romantic dining spot in a Taj Mahal inspired building.....oops dreaming of Indian food again.

Brazil or Russia would also be awesome too!

I'm approaching this question from the perspective of making the World Showcase more representative of the whole world. Epcot already has five European pavilions, more than from any other continent, so I don't think we need any more. There are also two existing pavilions for former British colonies (the USA and Canada), so a third (Australia) won't add much diversity to the World Showcase, even if Australia is on the other side of the world from North America. Beyond that, there are two Asian pavilions, one African pavilion, and one Latin American pavilion.

My preference would be a sub-Saharan African country. A South American country would also be cool, especially if a significant part of the pavilion's focus is on the culture of the indigenous people. I'd also like an Indian pavilion; it's Asian but very different culturally from either China or Japan.

Brazil, Peru, India, Kenya, Eygypt, or South Africa. All would add something new with new culture and food from a region not as well represented in the world showcase.

Tough question. I think that I would like to see the African Outpost expanded to a full pavilion. I think that Spain would also add a nice cultural flavor. Brazil would be fun, especially if it was always Carnival. India would be interesting if pulled off well.

You know I hate to be a wet blanket here, BUT one thing to remember it that whatever country goes into World Showcase
A.. Has to be invited by Disney and B.. more importantly has to pay ALL expenses in regards to their going into WS. This includes the design of the pavillion (although aided by Imagineers) the building of the pavillion (again supervised by Disney), sponsoring the pavillion, and staffing said pavillion. Included in this is the requisite by WDE that the country be a stable country NOT in turmoil. I tend to think that this would eliminate a LOT of countries. IMHO the countries that could be in the running would include Australia, Brazil, Spain, Russia, Peru (or other stable S. American countries), India.
OK now what does everyone think of that, go ahead I can dodge most of the flaming arrows Smile

Based on Vettelover's info, I'm voting for India, Brazil, or Peru. Maybe South Africa - I think they could handle it financially, and I haven't heard about any turmoil there lately. But even though most European countries could deal with the finances and aren't in turmoil, I don't want to see another European country. I'd like some more interesting ethnic cuisine, and Europe is already pretty well covered.

India would be different to the countries already represented and would add more diversity to World Showcase. They could probably afford it as they have some very wealthy companies that could sponsor a pavillion.

Russia would also add something different and again there are some very wealthy people who could come up with the cash.

I'd love to see Greece represented. They have so much culture and history to share the imagineers would be spoilt for choice. I don't think they could afford it for a while and as mentioned already Europe is well represented.

What about somewhere in the middle east? Saudi Arabia for example.

Thinking purely from the standpoint of food, I'm not sure the cuisine would be different enough from Morocco's to make it really interesting. Ignoring cuisine, a middle eastern country would be great thanks to their fascinating ancient cultures.

I definitely agree with India. . . and like Petriedish, my stomach is guiding my decision! I think the architecture and souvenir options are plentiful and that they'd be different enough from anything else there.

I think Greece would also be nice (spanakopita!) as well. But India would be my first choice.

Wow, I had no idea they had such strict rules. I guess that explains a lot about what's already there.

I would love to see the country of Portugal represented. With such diversity such as the main land and all it's small islands. There would be a lot of folklore and culture to represent.

I also second the idea of Brazil.

Brazil with a Brazilian steakhouse. As a low-carb eater, this would be perfect. I would pay 2 DP credits for all the meat you could eat. Ideal!

Bella I am so glad you said New Zealand. I think that would be brilliant, especially if they focussed on Maori culture.

My first thought too was India, but Australia or NZ would be good too.

New Zealand is my dream vacation country!! I had a friend who moved there a few years ago and I've been trying to find a way to visit her since she left!!

I would like to see at least one country from each continent represented. The only continents not represented are Australia and South America.

My votes are for Australia (how cool would it be to see a replica of the Sydney Opera House in Epcot) and Brazil (going for a country with Portuguese influence over a country with Spanish influence which is already available in Mexico).

Tough one...

I'm brazilian and I know for a fact that the food is great, the atmosphere not so much...But when it comes to food, would Disney really be able to DELIVER (so to speak, lol)?

Greece would be a GREAT experience as a whole. There could be a great ride, the food is good, the architecture would be awesome...

Also, I didn't know all pavilions had to have sponsorship provided by their own countries. I thought only Morocco had done it, how stupid am I? Lol!

I don't think Brazil would go for that at the moment. With the whole World Cup, Olympic games and all that....
