Disneyland Prepares for Movie Premiere

Disneyland crews are busy preparing the park for the upcoming premiere of "Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides." The highly anticipated, star-studded event is set to take place May 7.

Guests heading out to Disneyland should know that several rides and attractions have been closed as crews work to build a screen and seating area for the premiere. Sailing Ship Columbia, Mark Twain Riverboat, Tom Sawyer's Island, and Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes all closed this past week and will remain closed until May 12. The popular Fantasmic! show, also closed, is expected to resume May 14. Park hours on May 7 will be restricted to 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Though tickets to the "Pirates" event are sold out, fans can still jostle for position on the carpet to take in stars' arrivals along Main Street, U.S.A.

The latest "Pirates" installment will open in theaters May 20.
