You may be wondering why I'm talking about taking a nap when you've spent so much money for your Walt Disney World vacation. The truth is that between Florida's heat, humidity, and walking 8-10 miles a day, touring the Disney Parks can be down right exhausting. There's no shame in taking a break and closing your eyes.

Just a note about napping on lawns in the Parks. There are a few spots of open grass that beckon for people to stretch out on them. My word of caution here is "sun." While you may start out in a shady spot of grass, you might very well wake in full sun feeling like a roasted brisket. Be cautious when seeking out the perfect spot for a nap.

Naps at Disney Resorts

Your Disney Resort room is a great place for a nap, comfortable, air conditioned, and private. However - if you need a spot to snooze while hotel hopping, or waiting for your family to gather in one place, the resort lobbies are great places to relax. Here are a couple of nice spots you can doze around the resorts.

Animal Kingdom Lodge offers several comfortable and quiet spots for napping, such as the Sunset Overlook, the Kidani Village Community Hall, or even the rocking chairs around the big fire pits.

Disney's BordWalk Inn has a lovely shaded balcony overlooking the croquet lawn with wicker chairs, and the Belle Vue Lounge

Disney's Contemporary Resort Outer Rim Lounge has great chairs and a fantastic view of Bay Lake to wake up to.

Several of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have Poolside Cabanas available for day rental. When you have a pool day, a siesta in the shade of your cabana after a refreshing dip feels like a little bit of heaven.
