Food News In and Around Walt Disney World

Food at Disney World is an attraction in and of itself for many guests; here are some food news tidbits from around WDW.

First up are snacks. It looks like fans of the sweet cream cheese-filled pretzel can now get their fix at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The pretzels can be found on the Streets of America at the Pretzel Garden. Next, guests can use a Disney Dining Plan snack credit (or pay $3.19) to grab a Citrus Swirl. This sweet twist of vanilla soft-serve ice cream and frozen orange juice can be found in the Magic Kigndom's Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Walt Disney World to Limit Refillable Mugs?

You know those refillable mugs you can purchase at your Disney resort? They cost around $14 each and allow you unlimited soda pop refills for the length of your stay. Reports are surfacing about these mugs, saying Disney may test out software that would limit some usage of the mugs.

A Glimpse At Changes For 2012 Disney Dining Plans

There is some buzz surrounding the 2012 Disney Dining Plans and upcoming changes to the plans. Without further ado, here is the nitty gritty on what you might want to know about plans for next year.

Guests purchasing the Standard Dining Plan can expect to receive a refillable mugs as part of the plan. These nifty mugs let guests have access to unlimited soft drink and other quick service beverage refills while at their Disney resort.

Joffery's Coffee to Replace Nescafe at Disney Restaurants

A Grown Up Princess Breakfast at Akershus

I love a good character meal, and over my last several trips to Walt Disney World I've made a point of trying a new one every time. In October I made reservations for the Princess Breakfast at Akershus in Epcot's Norway Pavilion. I must admit I was a little reluctant to book here because I'm not always the most adventurous eater, and the thought of Norwegian food made me a little nervous.

Seashore Sweets at Disney's Boardwalk Resort

Sitting prettily on the shoreline at Disney's Boardwalk Resort is a charming old-fashioned candy and ice cream shop. Seashore Sweets has counters and displays full of saltwater taffy, fudge and cookies that make it easy to find something to love. The real winner here though is the delicious hand dipped ice cream.
