The mad girlie spur of the moment trip - the report! COMPLETE

Hello and Welcome to my Trip Report!

I fear this may be a let down if you have read some of my past trips, I didn't take any notes so its all done from memory and pictures (of which there are a lot as per usual!). I hope its still a good read though and you have a great time sharing along in my trip Smile

A quick reminder who's ramblings you are listening to.

That would be me, Robyn. I think you might know me by now though Wink I'm Disney MAD! Married to my lovely hubby Sy who stayed home from this trip to work and look after the cat Wink Health problems, but not like I let them hold me back Wink can't hold a girl down!

That would be Jenny Smile This was her 4th trip to WDW. She loves all the big rides (yikes!) and not into parades (I didn't see that one coming! Though she was good and we did watch 3 while we were there.)

Travel Day!

I actually woke up 10 mins before my alarm at 4:50am. Anyone who knows me will know that time of the morning is HARD for me. I'm a night owl. In fact I am rarely in bed before 3am Shock I think I had about 4 hours sleep. But hell I was going to DISNEY today so I was up and dressed before you could blink. I even had time for a quick pic in the mirror in my new outfit...

I was wearing all new clothes, does anyone else do this? I always like to buy something new to travel in. This morning even my knickers were new lol. Actually it wasn't till I was on the Magical Express that I realised that the jeans still had a massive tag on the back pocket (which must have been very much on show for the whole journey), Epic Fail! PMSL

We were packed into the car and leaving the house at 5:15am, Wilbur was really stressing having seen the cases going to the car but we did tell him daddy was coming back Wink He hadn't thrown up by the time he got home so he must have believed us...

We picked Jenny up at hers by 6am and by 6:45am we were at the airport in record time! Sy dropped us off at the drop off point rather than coming inside, no need for a teary goodbye at the gate... though he did text me to say that he may have got a little watery eyed on the way to his parents house (they live 20 mins from the airport so he was going there to work for the morning).

After a bittersweet goodbye at the car we headed straight inside to check in and drop the bags off. Check in was easy and there was only 1 person ahead of us in the queue so that was good Smile We then went straight through security and went to do a bit of shopping. Jenny bought lots but I managed to restrain myself and just bought a new phone case as my current case was broken - I needed it, honest Wink I did also buy some food in Boots the Chemist in case I didn't like the food on board.

We then went to look for the gate we needed to get to and it had changed to say it was now leaving an hour later Shock baring in mind we had a connecting flight in Dublin! Shock I was very worried to say the least... We decided to pass the time getting some breakfast in the Wetherspoons pub (not my choice!), Jenny's food had to be sent back once and then the second was no better and mine was just okay Sad get me some of that proper American food! I have to say, I've never had good food in a wetherspoons but we were struggling on choice and time, plus it was right next to the gate info and we were stood right there. Won't be rushing back that's for sure. I've not seemed to get a good breakfast in Gatwick, we went to Frankie and Benny's last time and that was rubbish too. Jenny paid for breakfast to say thanks for picking her up which was really lovely of her.

We still had a bit of time before we had to go to the gate so we went into a few more shops and then grabbed a seat to wait.

By the time I was totally sweating and panicking that we were gonna miss our connecting flight (Hayley and Gareth had this very problem with Aer Lingus on their last flight and had to stay overnight in Boston), our gate was called. We were on the plane uber quick as we were taken on first, and sat in the very last row. We watched lots of other people get on board and then a group of young boys aged I would guess at about 11 - 14 all with rugby tour shirts on... and where did they sit? Of course, all in the back rows surrounding us! There was 1 seat next to me which a lady sat in and we exchanged worried looks about the boys. After a long wait on the tarmac for a spot to take off we were in the air and my stress levels were about as high as we were Wink The captain came on to say that we would have a 50 min journey to Dublin and to apologise about the delay, it was due to the fog in London.

Before long we were coming into land, it seemed to take an age to get to the gate and once we got off we had 15 mins before our next flight was due to take off Shock AHHHHH!

There were only 4 of us who had that connecting flight so as soon as we were there we ran over to immigration where there was no queue. We went straight up to the front and were told to go back and fill in a form, don't they know we had a flight to try and make?? The guys were really nice at immigration but our cases weren't off the flight before yet so they couldn't show us a picture and have us identify them, so we had to wait in another room. Major stress levels now as we had just 5 mins, I did have every hope that they would wait for us given that we were at least there in the airport but even so, I was stressing out. The guys were so sweet and kept checking and refreshing their page to look for the bags and soon enough they were there and we could identify them. We then ran off to our gate, having to go another security check but this time with no wait. As it worked out, we actually weren't the last people on the plane! We didn't have to do the walk of shame being the last passengers on the flight, about 6 people came on after us, including the other couple who were on our flight from Gatwick. Our seats were just behind the wing on the edge, Jenny had the window seat while I had the aisle. The staff were really lovely and friendly, the food however was even worse than the normal airline rubbish, glad I had bought a boots meal deal in Gatwick! We both tried the Chicken Tikka but the chicken was so dry it was honestly inedible. It came with a cous cous salad which neither of us ate. Ahh well.

The movies on board didn't really interest me so I passed the time watching the movies Sy had loaded on my iPad. Frozen, Monsters University, Saving Mr Banks and Despicable me 2. I got through them all bar the last half of Despicable me 2. I also napped for a bit, Jenny slept most of the way. I did also pay for an hour's wifi on board so that I could speak so Sy. I didn't get the chance to let him know we had made our flight and I knew he would be panicked so I sucked it up and paid the 10 pound charge (about $15). It was worth it though to speak to him.

Some rather boring pics of the skymap, can you tell I was bored by this point?

I'm not sure I'm a convert to indirect flying, i think i would need to be saving a huuuuuuge amount to be tempted again. Even though the no queue at immigration was amazing, it was just a long journey day - by the time we got to The Beach Club we had been travelling 21 hours from the moment we got in the car that morning. I'm glad we are back to Virgin direct in October Wink

We got off the flight and I asked where I should go to pick up the scooter. There was just 1 special assistance guy and he had 3 wheelchairs so he told me to wait at the gate and he would come back. The flight emptied and the gate closed. No one came. I had to go find someone to ask where it would be and he said I should wait there. Half an hour went by and I was starting to panic that it might have gone with the luggage so Jenny went off to find the carousel which was a tram ride away while I waited there. I skyped Sy while I was waiting and honestly, I was starting to become slightly frantic. Jen messaged to say the cases were there but nothing else. I found someone again and told them I was still waiting and thankfully this guy did seem to listen to me and 15 mins later the scooter arrived. The guy who brought it over didn't make eye contact, I said to him I thought it must have been broken for them to take so long and he didn't reply... that was telling Wink mind you, it was sorted now. I had spoken to Jen on whatsapp (gotta love the free internet!) and arranged to find her at the carousel where she got the bags so off I went.

We found each other easy and were soon downstairs in the queue for magical express.

There wasn't much of a queue and before we knew it we were on our way to the happy place!

Quick selfie on the bus.

The bus driver was very animated and he made a point of telling us all that he was slowing down so we could all get a picture of the WDW sign... well this was my rather embarrassing attempt.

I know, that's atrocious! I would like to blame the jetlag at this point but I'm not sure I'll get away with it Wink

First stop was at Caribbean Beach, I made sure to have a good nose round as this is where Ruth is staying later this year - it looks good hun! I wouldn't complain and I liked the colour scheme.

Next up was The Beach Club! Woooooohooooo!

Check in was a bit weird, I had done online check in so we queued at that desk but the girl called people from the main queue so we then joined that one... and then someone else came to start a queue at the online check in and she was asked right forward?? No idea what we were supposed to do, it wasn't exactly ideal having to join a massive queue after waiting at the online check in for ages without being seen but it wasn't the end of the world. The girl who checked us in was from Auckland New Zealand and was really happy when I said I'd been there, I was the first guest she had met who had been there and asked me all about it... only I was 16 at the time and don't have a huge memory of it other than swimming in a tank of dolphins that stayed well away from me at the bottom of the tank lol. Ah well, reminiscing over with we quickly got our room number and success! We had a room facing Epcot (ish), room 322. We found the room easy and were very surprised with how nice it was. I had read lots of reviews online saying the BCV was in need of a refurb but we didn't see it, well the only thing i could see was the shower dial had 1 crack in it, and because I was looking for the trouble I'd read about I was even more critical. While we were busy taking pics of the room the fireworks were going off so we hot footed it out on the balcony to watch Smile

The pics of the room

The original plan had us going to Epcot the night we arrived as our plane landed at 6pm, who knew it would take 3 hours from the plan landing to arriving in our room?? Its the longest time I have ever taken and it was on a flight where I didn't need to go through the hideous immigration queue at MCO! Its crazy!

Stupid as we were, we were high on adrenaline and so decided we needed to go somewhere... the only park still open was MK and so we got freshened up (read showered) and headed down to the bus stop. It was a chilly evening, it would be the coldest of all out evenings and so we wrapped up as much as we could and braved the cold night air to wait for the bus.

It didn't take long and soon we were arriving at MK.

I needed to sort out my Magic band and annual pass so we had a short wait at guest services and then we were in the park. First stop had to be food, we were STARVING. It was a long time since we last had some food. So off we went to Cosmic Rays. I got a chicken burger which was surprisingly very yummy, while jenny got kids chicken nuggets. As soon as we had eaten we felt dead on our feet but we had come all this way so we decided to make the most of it and I arranged a fastpass for buzz.

We rode buzz and I showed Jen all the high scoring places Wink and by then, we really had to give up. It was open till midnight but I think we made it to about 11pm. We hopped on the bus back to the hotel and crawled into bed. We had been up over 24 hours by that point so as soon as our heads hit the pillow we were asleep Smile

We took a quick selfie on the bus when it hit 24 hours being up to celebrate lol

Wow what a trip! I'm always amazed(okay, jealous silly ) at all of you "across-the-pond"ers that make multiple Disney trips a year. For me, driving there would take less time than you flying, and I still can't seem to make it as often as I'd like!

Glad you got some park time in on your first day! I wouldn't be able to resist either, no matter how tired I was!

Day 1

Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom

As expected we were up early - 7:30am, way too early considering we were up fairly late the night before... We probably should have just turned over and gone back to sleep but WE WERE IN DISNEYWORLD! Sleep is not important Wink We hopped out of bed and got dressed, Jen had a quick shower and hair wash and we were soon ready to go.

We wandered round to the boat dock and took some pics along the way and while we waited.

We didn't have to wait long for the boat and we were off!

HS was quiet this morning, we hadn't had any breakfast yet so we headed to starring rolls, stopping on the way for a a few pics.

I grabbed a croissant (cant remember what Jen had). Jen did manage to snap a pic of all the St Patrick's day cupcakes though Smile

First stop was over to TSM. As we arrived the ride was closed though but a few people were mulling around outside so we decided to give it a few mins before wandering off to something else, 5 mins later they opened the queue line and we were about 20th in the queue! For some reason they gave me one of these...

Not really sure whey they bothered when the queue had only just opened but hey ho Wink

I won which was novel for me, seeing as I have no chance against Sy (men have an advantage in the arm action Wink ), Jen did get a better accuracy though.

Jenny got a drink of the adult kind outside even though it was only about 11am Wink We grabbed a quick pic with a green army man, he did make Jenny hide her drink behind him for the pic though so think they must not be allowed if the guest is holding a drink or something? Who knows!

We then wandered round to the streets of America and to the Muppets. We stopped on the way as Mike and Sulley didn't have much of a wait.

We then wandered through the streets of America

And grabbed a pic outside the Muppets

Muppets was brilliant as usual. We then had a mooch round the shops outside. It was now about lunchtime and our light breakfast seemed a long time ago. We decided to try for a walk up in Sci-Fi and we were lucky! We were seated almost instantly. We had time to get one quick pic outside before the buzzer went off.

Here are just a few of the many pics we took inside Wink

Jenny with her long island iced tea

Our server very kindly took this one for us Smile

I had the chicken BLT with sweet potato fries, Jen had the cottage pie. I wasn't a huge fan of the fries as they had cinnamon on them and I'm not keen Sad oh well. They were nice enough.

Unfortunately I wasn't too well after eating so we paid and decided to make our way back to the hotel for a swim. I did start to feel better once we were outside, Jen stopped for a cigarette in the smoking area and I sat in the sun for 5 mins and started to feel better instantly - I obviously just needed some of that Florida sunshine Wink

We hopped on the boat back to the Beach Club. Back at the hotel we quickly got changed and headed down to the pool. It was gloriously sunny but still a chill in the air when you were wet but out of the water.... I blame that very statement for the fact I got SO burnt. I was red raw, some of the nastiest sun burn i have ever got, I am still peeling now Sad The ironic fact was that I said we needed to get out as I thought Jenny was getting burnt!!

A few pics playing in the pool.

Unfortunately when it came to getting out of the tubes, Jen didn't realise we were in a deep part of water and she went completely under Shock She wasn't happy as it meant another hair wash lol I didn't giggle too loudly Wink We've all been there though Wink

We sat by the pool for a little bit drying off - Jen got a few cocktails I believe - before heading back to our room to get changed and for Jenny to wash her hair Wink Once we were dressed we headed out to Magic Kingdom Laughing out loud

First stop was at Tony's to see my friend and drop off all the English treats for him. We also got a pic with this little man while we waited...

James came out eventually though and I left him with a big bag full of goodies he promised to share...

We then headed down Main Street just as the Move It, Shake It, parade was going past so we watched it for a bit. It was then that I learned Jen wasn't keen on Parades, whoops! She didn't mind watching though.

We grabbed a quick photo op outside after.

We then made our way to Fantasyland as we had a fastpass for Ariel meet and greet.

We also went to watch Storytime with Belle, Mickey's philharmagic and Monster's inc Laugh Floor. Jen bought a crown in the shop by Gaston's tavern.

It was starting to get dark so off we went to ride Dumbo and then BTM

I did get a little photobomb at BTM Wink

If you are wondering why we were the wrong side of the platform, I was on mum's scooter this evening and the wheelchair friendly entrance is via the exit.

We got a spot beside the plaza to watch Wishes and I Skyped Sy so he could watch them too Smile Afterwards they opened up the exits behind the shops along main street so we hot footed it outta there sharpish so we didn't have to queue for ages at the bus. We didn't have to wait long for a bus and we were the first in the queue Smile bonus!

We were back in the room in no time and fell into bed straight away Laughing out loud

Tomorrow, Epcot!

Just caught up on your travel day Robyn! A bit stressful, but you made it! Laughing out loud

Your room at BCV looks really nice and I'm not surprised you didn't last long at MK, I don't think I would cope with a park on the first night to be honest!

Will be back to read more later Smile xx

I haven't done an indirect flight since I was a teen with my parents, I'm not sure how quickly I want to do one again. The savings would have to be huge to tempt me Wink

Ahhh the multiple trips comes from having no kids yet (no drain on funds hahaha), and me having a job where I can bump up the hours when I need to so I can pay for stuff Wink

Will be working on more ASAP Smile away from home for a few days at a funeral Sad Actually I didn't know how or where to post or even if I should post about it, but the couple we went away with in 2012 (we went with both sets of parents and old friends of Sy's parents, Steve and Jude). Steve had non Hodgkin's lymphoma and they were trying to visit all the places he wanted before he left us. Well sadly Steve lost his battle fairly suddenly last week Sad his funeral is tomorrow so we have travelled up to Manchester with all the family to say goodbye to him. Lovely friend Ruth is staying at ours to look after little sod Wilbur the cat.

Ahhh thank you, this will probably make you sad now... But it's gone in the bin! It was on it's last legs and the covering was coming off at all the corners etc, it's done me well though, I've had it since valentines day last year and used it every day since. It came from the disney store uk, I still use the matching purse though for all my money Wink

Robyn, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Steve. That is so sad, but I'm so glad you got to share the magic with him in 2012. I bet it was a wonderful time for him and all of you!

Day 2 Epcot

Woke up fairly early again but we took it a bit easy as we had to check out of BCV today Sad due to DVC availability we had 2 nights BCV, one night BWV and then the last 4 nights at AKL.
We packed up all our bits and pieces, showered and got dressed and then called down to bell services to come pick up our bags and take them to BWV for us.

We then left our room and headed over to Epcot. It's so easy to walk to Epcot from where we were!
We were at the gates in about 3 minutes. We walked in and made our way to France for breakfast Laughing out loud I grabbed a croissant but jenny had a granola yoghurt for breakfast back in the room so she didn't get anything. The smell in the bakery is so authentic, it's just like being in a real French bakery. The staff were just as miserable too Wink

We then made our way to future world, stopping on the way for a few pictures while there was no one around (that part was awesome too, having hardly anyone there).

First up was our reservation for Test Track, the way it worked out Jen and I had a screen each so we designed a car each. I can't remember who's came in first place but it was fun to be able to do our own.

My car

Jen's car

Those were both hideous beasts weren't they? LOL

We then made our way over to the seas and nemo which was a walk on. We walked around for a little while and watched some dolphin training before heading back out into the sunshine (gotta make the most of it compared to back home!)

We grabbed a drink and sat for a min, Jen grabbed a quick tobacco stop before making our way into the land pavilion.

The queue for soarin' was too long to get a return time on the DAS so we just went to use our fast passes on living with the land. I really love this boat ride, I know I've said it before, I can remember the first time I found it - on our honeymoon. I was blown away by it, seeing everything growing outside. I'm obviously easily pleased Wink (those who know me will serious doubt that statement haha).

We then made our way over to Teppan Edo for our lunch ADR. We stopped at a few places on the way over for Jen to get some drinks of the alcoholic kind. We had a short wait before our ADR time so Jen went off for a cigarette break while I went round the shop, Jen had also grabbed a hot saki from the bar opposite the check In Podium where we checked in. We were given a buzzer that went off before we reached the top of the stairs so we went right in and were seated with 1 other family. Jenny skipped a drink as she still had the saki she bought downstairs, she had intended on drinking it first but the buzzer had gone off so quickly so she didn't get chance. I ordered a diet coke. Jenny ordered the shrimp while i decided on, wait for it..... chicken! What a shocker there eh? Wink
Someone at our table either had an allergy or was vegetarian as someone came out to speak to them about cross contamination and asked if they would like their food cooked out back but they declined.

The show and the food was as always, delicious.

We got a few pictures outside before heading off to meet vettelover and mrs vettelover by the funnel cake stand in the American pavilion.

We were a little early so Jen went off to have a cigarette. I wasn't alone for long though as the vettes soon arrived and we got chatting right away. Jen came back with more drink and said hello. We were chatting about life, disney and escaping the cold back home when a CM needed to get in the gate we were stood in front of so we moved but she couldn't jiggle the gate open so lovely Mr vettelover helped get it open and off she went inside. A few minutes later though she came back out with a funnel cake for us to say thank you! How sweet is that?! Not ones to turn down funnel cake we gladly accepted Wink

We made our way inside the American counter service and grabbed a soft drink and a seat. We chatted for quite a while longer but the time did come that we would have to leave so we could check into the boardwalk. It was about 4:30pm by the time we said our goodbyes.

We hot stepped over to the international gateway and made our way over to the boardwalk to get checked in. Check in was easy and smooth and we were soon on the way to our room.
The room was gorgeous, I'd be very happy staying here again. Though I'm not sure I'd call what we had, a water view, I mean you could just about see water through the trees if you leaned over the balcony... But it was just 1 night after all.

Jenny's bag even matched the decor...

We called for the bags as soon as we were in the room but they took ages to come. When they did arrive we quickly got changed and headed down to the pool, sadly it was getting past the warmer part of the way by now but we did enjoy the swim.

Jen tried out the slide but I was worried about getting my hair wet and it takes hours to wash and dry, Jen went under at the end so I'm glad I didn't go lol. She didn't seem too sad though...

We did try out the hot tub too but my sunburn was burning when we tried. Jen got another cocktail at the bar and I got my resort mug filled before heading back up to the room to get changed.

Once we were changed we headed back to Epcot. We snacked on a few things round world showcase and Jen got more drinks. I then took a bit poorly but managed to make it to illuminations, though when it was on Jen disappeared to get more drinks.

Waiting for illuminations

The plan had been that we would go to jellyrolls after but I wasn't feeling it. My friend James was going to come too so he offered to take jenny and I would stay back at the room. He came up to meet us in our room and I gave him a talking to about looking after her as she was quite drunk and I was worried about her but he promised he would... They discussed going offsite to Orlando as James lives there and knows the best places to go but I found out the next day that they had just gone to jellyrolls.

I skyped Sy and then put my head down. I did find it hard to sleep cause I was worried about Jen but she is a grown woman so I needn't have worried really, I think I've kinda always worried about her through the years as she's a couple of years younger than me I've sort of adopted that role lol.
The sleep didn't last long though, I first woke up at 1:45am and Jen wasn't back. I tossed and turned for a bit before falling back to sleep... And then woke up at 4:45 but she still wasn't back. I tried calling her, texting, Facebook... All with no reply. I called and text James with no reply. I even asked on fb if anyone else had heard from her but no one had. As it was the was fine and she was in the boardwalk, but the last I heard was her and James talking about leaving disney and jen was a bit merry (read a lot merry), plus you know what it's like in the middle of the night, your mind goes into overdrive! I called Sy and he had spoken to her at 1:45am as he had been trying to get hold of me earlier in the evening but I hadn't seen my phone so then messaged her.

So as you can imagine I didn't sleep after that, in fact I got up and packed all of our things up ready for check out.....

Tomorrow, AK and HS.

Day 3 AK

So I left you kinda already started on day 3, Jen was missing and I was panicking.

I didn't really know what to do as we were due to check out and I still couldn't get hold of Jen, so I took an outfit out of the bag for her along with her sun cream and some comfy shoes. Just as I was about to call bell services Jen called me. She was on her way up in the lift. I was very relieved!

When she got back in the room she said she hadn't left Disney and was only 2 floors below us, so I was worrying over nothing. She got changed and re packed her things, unfortunately we didn't realise at the time but she left all of her money in the room. She did say later on that she shouldn't rush like she had that morning again as that's what happens when you don't check properly.... The money had been packed in her case but then she took it out while changing to get some cash to take out with her today.

We called bell services and they came to get our bags and transport them over to AKL where we would be spending our last 4 nights. After the night before and the stress I had got myself into I had a dodgy stomach, I kept having to dash to the bathroom - a theme which continued for the rest of the day Sad

Unfortunately for me it would turn out, a few people who had read my public post on Facebook asking if anyone had heard from Jen had replied with not too supporting replies, which Jen read and wasn't happy about, I think she then realised how worried I was and felt bad too. But either way it started the day off with a really awkward atmosphere which didn't really lift the whole day. We headed down to the boardwalk bakery but the queue was huge so I just got my drink filled and we headed to the bus stop to wait for the bus to AK...

It was here that we met the beautiful Nico Laughing out loud ahhhhh the beautiful Nico *swoon* he was the CM at the bus stop chatting to everyone, telling awful jokes and just being generally awesome. I am totally useless around pretty men and go to mush, he tried to talk to me and I think I uttered something along the lines of 'um er yer hehehe' and then proceeded to go bright red. Awesome Robyn!

After what felt like an age to my awkward 13 year old self our bus arrived and we were at AK by 10.

We hadn't got any breakfast so we headed over towards the safari I grabbed a pastry on the way along with a frozen jungle juice, which was actually frozen today as the last time I had one it was barely cold!

There was lots of animal movement I the safari today, sadly no lion movement. For years I swore those were fake cause they never moved till one time I saw the lioness waking around. I'll spare you the many pics I took of the animals, I'll just include a few Wink

After the safari we stopped for jenny to get some edemame beans. We then rode Everest and I was reminded why I don't like it lol, the backwards bit really makes me feel sick!

We then headed to Dinoland and played a few games.

I won a toy on the water shooting thingy game (yes, that is the official name!) Laughing out loud

AK was really rammed today, we had an ADR at yak and yeti which we were trying to wait around for but between the crowds, the heat and my dodgy stomach we decided to head to guest services to ask if we could change it to another day. They took pity on me and let me change the reservation without the charge. Yay!

On the way out we spotted my friend Jackie on her way in, we did warn her about the crowds but as she was on a solo trip it wasn't so bad, 1 person can nip in and out of the crowds much easier. We did arrange to meet later in the day at Hollywood studios for fantasmic.

We waited first in line for the bus to AKL, it arrived about 10 minutes later and we were soon checking in to AKL jambo house.

We arrived at AKL about 2pm so our room wasn't ready yet. I asked the lady on reception if she could tell whereabouts ish our room was and from that I Guessed our room number. We were in a standard view and not near the pool, I knew where all the downgraded savanna rooms were and i was right with the room I guessed Wink

I think this pic was taken round AKL, I'm having trouble placing it so i'm sticking it in here lol

I was hungry about now so I went to mara while Jen went to get changed into swimming stuff (I had cleverly brought our swimming stuff with us after our wait for the bags in BWV). We then switched and I got changed and we met up by the pool. First stop was a secluded hot tub, though after about 5 mins we were turfed out as the chlorine levels were too high and we then made our way over to the other tub behind the kids slide, right by the smoking area (yay for Jen, boo for me as the smell kept wafting over).

After a swim and a chill on the loungers i went to see if our room was ready, it was! So I text jen the number and how to get there and headed up to the room to call for the bags.

When the bags came we did a bit of unpacking and that's when Jen realised her money was missing. She called the front desk and they said something had been left in our room but that they couldn't tell us what, so they were sending it right over to AKL for us. We quickly got changed and the mood which had picked up slightly had gone down again. We went to the front desk and asked, the guy went out the back and didn't seem to come back but there was a CM waiting beside us, so when the guy came back looking despondent he stepped forward and asked if we were waiting for something from BWV, and asked us to describe what it was that we were waiting for. He then handed over the money. Jen thinks some was taken out of it but she was just glad to get it back even if it wasn't all there.

Feeling very relieved we headed out to the bus stop and waited for the bus to HS.

Once we got to HS we headed to the great movie ride but we were about 15 mins too early so we watched mulch sweat and shears. When we did get to the ride it was down Sad so we then walked to TSM to get a return time on the DAS card. We then went in search of a corn dog for jen but all the places that serve them were shut Sad

We walked by star tours to see what the queue was like, only 20 mins but Jen thought that was still too long so we skipped by and carried on our search for food. We ended up at fairfax fare where jen got a kids meal but I wasn't hungry after eating at the mara.

It was then time to ride TSM so off we went. Both got a Beaver again dammit.

We then grabbed a seat near one mans dream and waited for Jackie as she was heading towards us.

Jen and I had fast passes for tot but I still wasn't feeling great so I have my band to Jackie and they rode together whole I waited at the exit. We then got in the queue for fantasmic. Jen went off for a cigarette and came to find us later. We managed to score a spot right in the centre, probably the best seats i have ever had!

The wait for the show went by quickly as we were chatting away, we grabbed some drinks and Jen got a chilli cup thing... she said it looks a lot better than it tasted and a fair amount went in the bin sadly.

Once the show started I noticed the 'Glow with the Show' ears, unfortunately they were few and far between, i'm sure they would look brilliant if everyone had them on.

After Fantasmic we waited for the crowds to disappear before heading out to the exit all together. Just as we got to our bus stop a bus arrived so we said a rather hasty goodbye to Jackie and hopped on. We did make plans that we would meet up again before we all went home though as we all were all leaving on the same day.

We were back at AKL just after 11pm, we grabbed a few drinks at the vending machine on the way to the room and were in bed by midnight.

Day 4

We planned to visit a waterpark today but we woke up to really dark clouds outside Sad booo! So thinking better of it we decide to head to DTD to do some SHOPPING! We got dressed and headed down to the Mara for some breakfast before heading out to the bus stop.

The bus came after a short time and we were off. The bus seemed to take FOREVER, but finally we were at the Marketplace. We shopped for an hour or so. I am pretty okay with skipping DTD, especially with all of the works going on but Jen really wanted to hit the shops, unfortunately she didn't find anything she wanted to buy though Sad I more than made up for it and had all of my shopping bags delivered back to the resort (which turned out to be a good thing later as the rain came). I lost Jen in World of Disney, I searched all round but she had found a spot outside and was eating a corndog.

The rain had started now so we decided to make an exit and head to HS to watch Beauty and the Beast, a must for both us big girls Laughing out loud

We decided to get on the bus to Swan and Dolphin and get the boat from there so we got in line for the bus. Just as the bus arrived a really loud family came up and tried to rush on the bus in front of everyone who had been waiting. They were told to wait to get the scooters on first, they then ran up the ramp and were told to get off again - and this was the parents! The kids were waiting off the bus in line Shock Wow.

We were dropped off at S&D and the heavens really had opened up now Sad We wade our way through the resort and out to the boat dock - I have to say I wasn't impressed with the hotel itself, I didn't think it was anything special. I cant remember which hotel we walked through though, which I guess says a lot! It was the first drop off anyhow.

We were, surprisingly enough, the only people waiting for the boat. The rain was hammering down now Sad We were poncho'd up and making the best but I would be lying if I said it didn't affect us, we were both getting really cold.

We didn't have to wait long for the boat and we were soon making our way inside the gates at HS. First stop was starring rolls for me to get a napoleon, then to get Jen and ice cream, and then we got our spots for the show.

The show as always was amazing Laughing out loud I would be so sad to see it go but I do agree that it kinda doesn't fit here anymore.

Afterwards we head back out to the boat and back to Epcot as we had Fastpass+ arranged. This probably wasn't the best idea as we were half way round world showcase and the sky was falling*

*note that the sky wasn't really falling, it just felt like it cause of the sheer amount of rain.

We stopped at a few booths for Jen to get some drinks, including the Dole stand for me to get a dole whip and Jen to get a rum version.

We also swung by the UK pavilion to see my friend Ann Marie hard at work Wink

We found this little lady hiding inside too!

Given the rain was still bucketing down, we were cold and the ponchos were no longer helping, we decided to cut and run. We changed our plans around - we were due to go to Sanaa the following night followed by drinks at TOTWL but I changed the reservation to tonight instead.

Outside the bus queue for AKL was HUGE so we hopped in a taxi. The taxi driver took us the long way though assuming I didn't know where we were or where we were going. I did call him up on it and had a go, he came up with some lame excuse that he didn't like to go the other way as there were more traffic lights... I didn't buy it I'm afraid so he didn't get much of a tip from me.

Back at the hotel we showered and changed ready for Sanaa. We took a few pics before heading out front to catch the bus over to Kidani.

We were half an hour early for our ADR but we were seated right away.

Some pics from dinner.

Jen with her nice cocktail

Me with my diet coke lol

We had a fabulous meal and a great server which was novel as the last few have been a bit rubbish here Wink

Outside we hopped in a taxi over to BLT (not the same driver and we were there quicker then the driver from Epcot even though its further away!). We checked in downstairs and were taken up to the lounge by a lady from Belize. The rain had died off by now luckily. We ordered a few cocktails at the bar (mocktail for me!) and sat drinking them at the bar for a while.

We then headed out to watch the fireworks, Jen was very impressed Smile

We didn't stay long after the fireworks as we were both so tired and still a little cold. We grabbed another taxi back to AKL.

Bed as soon as we were back at the hotel.

Sorry about all that rain. We hit the same problem on our last day there in April. When it rains, it pours.

Your Sanaa dinner looks lovely. We've never eaten there but plan to make an ADR for our November trip. What do you recommend?

I really love the Naan breads, it doesn't show it on the menu but you can order them on their own without having to buy the whole bread service (we did that once but it was a lot of food for just 2 of us plus our mains).

I am in LOVE with the butter chicken, it tastes out of this world amazing!!
