Trip Report - Mason Family Trip - November '14

I have some bad news to report...

My dad in a nutshell had a heart attack today and thus him and my mom are not going to Disney. Jess and I debated about staying home because of this but my dad is making us go. To me in torn about it because I do love Disney but this is a family thing and with this happening it makes me realize family and disney is not going to be forever.

So with that being said... We are still going but I don't know how much I'll be up to doing the videos. Today took a lot out of me. Luckily we packed yesterday. If we hadn't. Today would had been a nightmare. So thankfully we were done and could commit what was needed for my father.

I'll try to do as many as I can because I do enjoy making them. But also now since it's just going to be the four of us. Things may not be as flexible? Idk... Kinda scatter brained right now.

Well... We leave at 4:15am for the airport. Shall make some magic!

Thanks all. Got to talk to him last night and he sounded like himself. He will be there till Monday at least. Right now we are at the gate waiting to board. It's currently 5am in the morning. Seriously.... If this was not for Disney I would not be up this early in the morning. I'm a night owl. I'd be going to bed at this time! But again... Thank you all for the thoughts. It's going to be a tough trip because usually if one of the kids doesn't want to ride something we have my parents. So we're going to have to figure a lot of things out. Well... I shall update later. Try to do a video of our trip on the Magic Express bus!

I believe we were. Been up since 3:45am and I was on dayqui and hydro. I was worried they would think I was bad or something because I was jittery. Lol

I did all of that on the bus to Downtown Disney (which is where we're at) using my iPhone and iMovie. Simple to use.

Well. As you read. We're in DTD right now. Needed to get our annual passes and some lunch. We're finishing up at Wolfgang Pucks Express. One of our favorite meals down here. We have FPs for Star Wars at around 4 but we're waiting to see what happens with our room. Still waiting which is fine because we're holding out for a savannah view. So I shall report back lata!

Thought this was a cool addition to our magic bands.

Thank you all for the prayers and support for my dad. It truly means a lot. He should be able to go home today and as long as they haven't kept any info away from me... He is doing great. He kept texting me yesterday on how we were doing, what we were doing, where was our room, and such. So his spirits are very high so thank you all again.

As for this trip... We finally got a text for our room at 4:50pm and for checking in around 9am.... To me that was kinda ridiculous. At first I was chalking it up to our request for a savannah view but we ended up with a pool view. So I am kinda irritated about that. Maybe I shouldn't be and I know check out was 11am.... But I remember last year we checked in around noonish and got our room right away with a savannah view and all. Idk... So yeah. No webcam this year unless you all wanna see the pool.

On a brighter note. One new thing we tried this year was ordering some food and drinks from Amazon and having it delivered here to the resort. Ends up you can have stuff shipped here 10 days prior to your arrival and they will have it delivered to your room with your luggage. So that was awesome new it'd but we did this year.

So yesterday we were at HS. I have two videos to put up but one will have to probably wait till we get back home. It ended up being a 30 minute video of the Frozen sing a long show. The wifi here has been horrible and I'm not sure how big the file is so idk if I should use my cell service or not. But the other video I'll try to have up in the morning. I haven't slept well tonight. Never sleep well on vacation. Lol. I did broadcast the Osbourn Lights last night and I'll see if I can get the archives footage on here.

As for what we're doing today? We were going to get up early and head to MK but after yesterday and 4am. We pushed everything back time wise. We plan on eating dinner at Big River Grill around 4:30-5pm since they don't take a reservation. But I love that place. Jess and I went there during our trip last year. Probably one of my favorite places to dine at here.

Again everyone. Thank you all for the prayers and support for my dad. It's been tough being here with my parents back in Ohio. Shoot... Jess called her mom yesterday and got the riot act for us being here when my dad was in the hospital. My dad told me when I talked to him Saturday night before we left... "If there was something you could do, I would have you stay and help, but there isn't. Your mom will be here and I'm up walking around already and there is just nothing you could possibly do. So go take your children to Disney and make sure they have a great time." Love my dad.

Since we got a pool view I decided not to. Thought it would be a pervie thing to do. Lol
