What would you do?

I have a choice between one twelve-night vacation in WDW or three five-night weekends (within a 30 day period). The five night weekends would involve leaving late Thursday night for MCO and coming home Tuesday. So I would get four full park days and whatever I could manage on departure day.

Of course the weekends would involve triple the airfare. However, I could try three different resorts. I could make three different "themes".

Tough decision.

I personally would do the one 12 night vacation. I have always wanted to spend that much time in the World in one shot. Plus getting there and back 3 times in a month as well as packing for 3 different trips sounds like too much of a hassle to me. If the 3 resort is the perk of the second option then I would just transfer resorts during the 12 night stay. It might be a PITA but it's easier then the 3 5-night weekends option.

If I could spread the three long weekends out over, say, half a year or more, I'd choose that option so I could spread the fun out over several months.

But if the three weekends had to be all in the same 30-day period, I would go for the one 12-day trip. Saves on airfare, reduces the hassles of travelling, and gives you more time to really relax and enjoy the trip. Having three different themes wouldn't be that important to me.

I would deffinetly go for the 12 day vacation. 3 - 5 day weekends equals 15 days, so your only adding 3 days but how much of that is travel and how much more would that cost flying that much? We don't fly so I have no idea what airfare is, but I know it's usually not cheap. You could still mix up resorts during 12 day. Just my thoughts.

I agree that if it were over a 6 month period, I'd take the 3 weekends, no question. But in a 30 day period, I would go for the 12 day. I feel like that'd be way less stressful than leaving every weekend, only getting to relax for a few days, and then be back in "real life."

If it has to be within the 30 day time period, I'd definitely do the 12 day trip. Most of the time from those 3 extra days would be spent in the airport/airplane. Just not worth it, to me. You could take some time away from the parks and just visit different resorts. You won't be able to experience the rooms, but you could walk around the resorts and see everything else. (P.S. I would LOVE to do a 12 day vacation to WDW!)

I'm going with everyone else - do the 12 day! We've never been able to stay that long, so I'm super envious you even have the option. Coming and going three times in a month just seems too hectic for me. Getting a better deal on the airfare would be a deciding factor too.

I'd do the 12 days. I've done five night trips before and I find it's not enough and there is a bit pressure to do everything in the theme parks. I think more importantly, all the hassle of travelling so many times in a year may be too much for me. But if I were living very close to Florida, then the inclination to do the 3 five night trips would be bigger.

I have to agree I would chose to do 12 days. I would think it could be a more laid back trip. Not rushing to see everything.

I'm another vote for the 12 day. Like others have said, if you could spread it out over more than 30 days then the 3 five day trips would be better. Or if you only had a couple hours drive and didn't have to fly. The 12 day would be more enjoyable IMO because you can relax more.

Wow- you guys are much more clear cut than I thought. And much more decisive than I am. I have found that on prior short trips, I really packed it in and had a great time. For short trips you pack much lighter, so that's easier. I only live a half hour from the airport so that's not that big a deal. The flight is from New York so about three hours. Flights are about $300 each so that may tip the scale. That extra $1200 is probably the deal breaker

Just think, that'd be an extra $1200 to treat yourself on your 12 day vacation awesome

I'm another vote for the 12 night stay.

That much back and forth in the airport would be rough for me and those brief trips home would be the pits. Plus depending on your travel habits you may end up with less park time with all the back and forth checking in and checking out. That's before even thinking of the extra cost of the plane tickets and baggage handling fees, and extra tipping, more food eaten out, and any other fairly random small amounts associated with flying like snacks, cocktails, or in flight wi-fi.

You could resort hop in the middle of your 12 night stay if experiencing other resorts is something you really want to do.

Yep. 12 days. Too much quick turn around for us. Of course we live on the left coast so that burns a day on each end for flights. . .

12 days. Even though the airport is close I just don't like the TSA enough. Plus saying good bye two more times could be pretty sad.

in three sort trips you will end up just repeating stuff that you 'HAVE' to do. the best thing about longer trips is you have time to do new things and take your time to smell the roses,

Well I would book at 11 months and transfer at 7. In fall it's usually easy to get anything except the Epcot resorts and they are my home resorts.

We'll see. I may be able to do 11 and 4
