Date Night at the Yacht Club

If you're looking for a romantic way to spend a night at Walt Disney World, you need look no further than the magic of the Yacht Club. This upscale resort recalls the romantic formal grace of a New England Yacht Club and a summer on Nantucket.

Yachtmans Steakhouse is one of Disney's premier steakhouses and signature dining establishments, which means that you'll need to dress up for your evening adventure. A meal at this high-end steak house is sure not to disappoint the carnivore in you. Attentive, yet leisurely service is highlighted with the most delectable foods and an award winning wine list. The menu here is always showcasing new and interesting options that are always flavorful and delicious.

After dinner is a wonderful time to explore the resort, browse through the gift shop or stroll along the boardwalk and explore the public areas of the Yacht and Beach Club resorts. Perhaps pick a pearl and have a lovely piece of jewelry created to commemorate the night. You could even catch a movie under the stars and roast marshmallows by a beach side fire. My favorite way to end the night is with a boat ride under the stars on Crescent Lake, if you have park tickets you can make the trip by water to both Disney Hollywood Studios or Epcot from the Yacht Club Pier.

However, If the money to splurge is in your budget you may want to time the end of your dinner for an Illuminations fireworks cruise. Take a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses from the Crew's Cup Lounge before you and your companion board a private pontoon boat in the Yacht Club Marina. Your captain will sail you beneath the International Gateway Bridge for a fantastic viewing spot on World Showcase Lagoon to watch Illuminations: Impressions of Earth. Though you know there are people around watching the show, your private boat makes it seem almost like the show is just for you. Reservations for all cruises are made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

This is a beautiful resort. It has a very "Nantucket" feel. It reminds you of the old sea side resorts of the late 1800's. It's a very quiet resort too. The lobby is breathtaking. If you are a fan of anything nautical, you will love this. My husband and I spent our 15th wedding anniversary here. It was lovely. Cannot say enough good things about how amazing the cast members were. Enjoyed touring the resort and spending time at "Storm Along Bay". Best pool ever! You are made to feel like you're in a lagoon in Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Highly recommend!

Di the wishes cruise, it's much better. You are more out in the open where as with the Illuminations Cruise you get stuck under the bridge or just in front of it. There is always a chance you may get all the smoke from the fireworks to covering you too with Illuminations, but not with wishes. And for both just remember they are not listed as a "Fireworks " Cruise, so if something goes wrong, no refunds!
