Disney Names New DVC Exec

Just a few days ago, we reported that Disney had let go its top DVC executive. It looks like they now have a replacement in Claire Bilby.

Ms. Bilby was appointed by Disney as the senior vice president of the Disney Vacation Club on Monday. The announcement came about three days after Disney fired the previous president Jim Lewis as well as two other executives. Financial difficulties concerning Aulani, a Hawaiian-based Disney resort set to open soon, may have lead to the dismissal of the executives and appointment of the experienced Ms. Bilby to the position.

Last Friday, Disney spokesman Brian Malenius stated, "We are in the early stages of an expansion project at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa." He went on to add the spa will "temporarily close this fall as part of a planned renovation."

An Addition for the Grand Floridian

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be getting an addition sometime in the future.

A permit application detailing the upcoming addition was submitted to the South Florida Water Management District. It describes a T-shaped building standing at six to seven stories high and connected to the current resort with a covered walkway.
