Watson's Very Merry 24 nighter TR. Completed!!

Woohoo! Welcome to my Trip Report!

We've been home just over 3 weeks now sob sob! But we had probably the best trip yet.

In case you forget what we look like, this is us below - taken on our last night on the way out of the park at 1am. Sniff sniff!

I'm Robyn at age 31 and hubs is Sy, aged 33 (old fart!). We were super lucky and got to spend an amazing 24 nights in Disney!

We are DVC members so we used our points to stay 1 night in Old Key West, 6 nights Club Level in Animal Kingdom Lodge, 13 nights in a value room in AKL with the remaining nights in the Grand Floridian.

We arrived on the 19th of November so got to experience our first ever Thanksgiving (and Black Friday!), and our first time seeing Disney at Christmas (and it was AMAZING!).

If you'd like to read my pre trip for a more in depth look at our plans, here it is.

A quick summary of highs and lows can be found here.

The day before

Of course I had to take a screen grab of the weather just to rub it in to friend and family before we went hehehe.

Wednesday afternoon we travelled the hours drive to Sy's parents house as they live 15 minutes from the airport. They are really good and never mind us staying with them the night before our flight, we sleep in Sy's old bedroom that he and his brother shared growing up, both in single beds hehe.

We stopped in at their house first for a cup of tea before heading over to the airport. Virgin offer twilight check in where you can check in and drop off your bags the night before which is really handy as it saves time in the morning, it's also pretty much always empty.... (A stark difference compared to the morning).

I won't say what the cases weighed but let's just say the girl took pity on us and didn't charge any overweight fees! Thank you nice Virgin lady <3

Gatwick airport was already starting to look Christmassy and pretty.

We stopped by the Travelodge right next to the airport to meet Lea who was staying there the night before, we had met over facebook as we were both going to be on the same flight. She had brought some Disney tree ornaments over from Denmark for me and I had picked her up some things here so we were making the switch now so I didn't have to take the ornaments to Orlando with me.

We went back to Sy's parents and had dinner and grabbed an early night (well I did, sy came to bed after I was asleep).

Day 1 travel day

As always the night before the flight I didn't sleep all that well, but this time it wasn't so much to the worry of oversleeping but instead down to the cat not leaving me alone all night. Poor Zizzi just wanted to be loved.... While all I wanted was some sleep. She was kissing me, nudging me, pawing my face... She eventually got shut out at some ungodly hour (sorry Ziz!).

We were flying on 1pm flight which is a new one for us as we try to go for the morning flight (usually Virgin have 2 per day), so the alarm didn't go off until 8:45am. We both had showers and got ready before Sy's dad dropped us at the airport. We arrived about 10am and checked in my scooter before heading through security, picking up some duty free Clarins stuff for my mum on the way. We stopped by Boots to get a sandwich in case I wouldn't eat any of the plane food and then went in search of brunch. We decided to go a bit out there and have a Nandos at 11am. (For those who have never heard of it, its a chain restaurant which serves peri peri chicken, not exactly brunch material hehe).

We were told the gate number when we checked in the scooter so we went straight to gate 19 as soon as it was announced and were second in line. My scooter was taken straight off and put on the plane, the lady who dealt with it was so nice, I told her what BA did to it when I went to Paris so she even came back up and told me where she put it and that it was all secure. (BA didn't put it on the plane and trashed it).

Chatted to Lea for a bit while we were waiting to board and Sy went to the bathroom. We had only been sat there 10 minutes when they asked me to board... So off I went with all the hand luggage by myself as Sy had only just gone to the bathroom lol.

Virgin staff really are fab, stood chatting with the girls while the plane started to fill up. They were so friendly and welcoming, offering to help me with my bags. Sy came on not long after and we took our seats. The flight wasn't full and we had an empty row of 3 beside us so once in the air we moved over to get a bit more room. We were sat in the middle on a row of 4 with 2 people next to us.

Food was butter chicken for both of us which wasn't too bad actually, it came with a key lime pie which was yuk lol. Flight passed as they normally do, I watched a load of films and did some of my new art therapy book - Disney princesses Laughing out loud I watched inside out, pitch perfect 2, trainwreck and the second best exotic marigold hotel. I spent time chatting with Lea too Smile

Afternoon tea followed later. I was okay.

Sy got a couple of pics of us coming into land, and then of the weather once we did - it looked awfully reminiscent of what we left in London :-\

Flight time was good, we were about half an hour late taking off and arrived half an hour early so we didn't do too badly! Sadly immigration was full so they kept us on the plane for another 20 - 30 minutes.

We waited on the plane till most people had left and got off to the scooter being brought up, perfect timing. I hopped on and we made our way through to the immigration hall. We only had to wait for 15 minutes but we were the first of the wheelchairs from the flight, had we been at the back I think it would be more like a 35 min wait. Sy went to sort out his visa for 20 mins while I grabbed the cases and waited.

Sy back, we made our way to the tram.

This was a weird one for us, when we arrived in the main terminal it was dark! Not used to the sun setting as early as this when we are in Florida!

We headed to Alamo where we were met with a HUGE queue so we decided to pick up the kids eat free vouchers from the Virgin holidays rep first (we got them free with our booking and had promised them to other people). There was another Alamo desk right behind the Virgin desk and we were told we could go there instead of joining the other big queue. Sadly there was only one guy working there and between serving people he went off for a good 5 minutes without saying anything leaving the rest of us bewildered as to what was going on. He came back in the end and carried on like nothing had happened haha.

When we got to the garage they hadn't got any mid size SUV's left so we ended up with a massive black Chevrolet. Sy was happy! Bonus of being on the last flight. No trouble at all to get everything in.

We did the half an hour drive to Old Key West, our home for the night. To get us there I used the satnav on my phone with trepidation, I'd recently got one of the 3 mobile contracts with 'feel at home', the sole purpose being that I could use it in America for free, but it still felt crazy and I was terrified I was running up a mahoosive bill! (It's ok, I came home and it was fine!).

OMG WE'RE HERE!!

It chucked it down the whole way and was still chucking it down when we arrived so I went to check in and Sy waited out front in the car. No queue at the check in desk and I was soon back out and in the car with Sy heading towards our room, block 42 room 4216. Turns out it was an accessible room, but it didn't matter for one night, and I liked the big shower Smile as always the first thing we did was dive into the shower to wash the plane off.

We were really tired so didn't want to go too far for dinner, we ended up getting take out from the crossroads. Sy went for McDonald's and I had a Taco Bell. They were both really good! Probably had something to do with the fact we were both starving and the last meal we had was on the plane lol

Back to the hotel and managed to stay awake till 10:30pm which was quite an achievement lol.

yay yay yay yay Another trip report from Robyn! YAY! Can't wait to read the rest. I had to do some mental math to figure out the temperatures on your weather app. I'm used to Fahrenheit so 30 degrees is cold to me. laugh Now that I've done the math, I'm officially jealous. Twilight check in for your flight sounds like a fantastic idea! I would do that in a heartbeat if it were available. How did water not leak all over the bathroom floor with that roll-in shower? I have a hard time not getting water all over with a shower in a full-sized tub.

Day 2

Managed to sleep through till 4:30 when Sy's snoring woke me up, nothing a sharp dig to the ribs with the elbows couldn't fix though hehehe I then went back to sleep till 7am. I would have slept longer but Sy was stroking my face and gazing at me... half of me went awwwwww that is so sweet! the other half went WHY ON EARTH HAVE YOU WOKEN ME UP I MUST KILL YOU NOW!!!

I don't look too annoyed there, but then how could I be?! It was our first day in DISNEY!!!

We packed up what little we had unpacked and loaded up the car. This morning we had somewhere rather special to be... Animal kingdom lodge CLUB LEVEL!! Old key west was lovely don't get me wrong, but we wanted to check in as early as possible to take full advantage of the club lounge.

Our beast of a car.

Christmas decorations at OKW.

We made our way to akl and gave our name at the gate. I've seen people checking into club level before, they are greeted as they arrive and taken up there personally to check in. There was none of this. I must admit, I was a teensy bit gutted. We unloaded the bags with the help of the bellman and valet parked the car before heading inside. I stood for a moment looking around for someone to greet us and take us upstairs but there was no one Sad so off we went to the check in desk. We were called forward right away and I gave our names, well the lady asked me to wait there and before we knew it the manager came out to shake our hands and personally take us upstairs! He sat us at the desk with Andrea to check us in and insisted on getting us some drinks, Sy had a mimosa (or what they do like it as they don't technically do it anymore) and I went for a Diet Coke. I wrote in my notes how awesome the CM was (this was before I had caught her name) <3

While we were sat there a lady came to say hello to us, we had spoken on the Facebook group, they were checking out that day as we checked in. Her name was Claire but didn't get her hubby's name. Was nice to say hello!

Our room was of course not ready yet, sadly we had a pool view (I am not a fan of them in akl as they are noisy!). No one was checking out from the other side of the hotel today, we could have switched the next day but I said not to bother.

View from the lounge

We grabbed some breakfast in the lounge and then made our way to the Magic Kingdom! It felt a little chilly still, I wasn't used to this in Florida.

Before getting into the parks we needed to pick up our annual passes, we bought them just before the change in prices but hadn't collected them - I was pleased to see we got the platinum pass which included the free memory maker! We also got a new tables in wonderland card and had our old water park non expiry passes changed to RFID cards. Took about an hour in total. Yikes.

First stop was of course a few photopass pictures on Main Street.

We wandered about soaking up the atmosphere, we had a bit of time to kill before our Fastpass at splash mountain.

We got red carded at the first ride of the trip. Of course we had to take a picture lol

We got a bit wet... though this pic was the before lol

We went to get some chicken waffle sandwiches and on the way we saw there was no wait at all to meet Tiana! So of course we had to go in. I loved all the little princess and the frog details inside.

I will include the following pictures but I have to say, they are not my favourite!! Half wet hair is clearly not a good look for me.

Tiana was admiring our 'Its Orlando Time' badges.

We then went to grab our chicken waffles. I wouldn't eat in the sleepy hollow dining area cause of the wasps so we walked towards Adventureland till we found some hidden benches with no one sat on them.

Just as we were finishing up I could hear the move it, shake it, parade coming so of course we stuffed the last of them down and ran to the hub area. We managed to get a spot before it got there. I did lots of dancing while Sy periscoped it for everyone to laugh at lol

It was getting really damn hot now and we were silly and hadn't put any sun cream on so we had to call time and head back to the resort.

We grabbed some more photopass pics on the way out.

We stopped at the end of Main Street to watch the Dapper Dans, they looked super cute in their holiday outfits!

It was 2pm by the time we arrived back at the resort. the room wasn't quite ready yet so we grabbed some snacks and drinks and sat in the lounge. We spent more time chatting with Andrea, she even talked us into giving her a quick demo of the Viennese waltz. Only cause there was no one else there though!

We didn't have to wait long for the room to be ready, I got an email at 2:30 with the room number! Woohoo! We were literally the closest room possible to the lounge.

We called down for the baggage and mentioned that there should be some sort of parcel for us left behind from our friend Ali who left the week before. They found it! And OMG Ali had left us sooooo much stuff! Thank you Ali.

We unpacked a bit and had showers before going to the lounge for afternoon tea.... I was so excited, anyone who knows me will know how much I love afternoon tea. I was greeted with cinnamon scones. I mean seriously?!?! What. The. Heck. Those are NOT scones. Humph. There were chocolate cakes with peanut butter icing and rice crispy cakes. Rubbish. Ah well, saved on calories lol.

We headed back to the room and got ready for dinner at be our guest.

We were a bit late parking so we went straight to bay lake tower as we would be going to the lounge for the fireworks, we explained our plans and parking was no problem.

We hot footed it over to Be Our Guest and met up with Rachel. We checked in and got a couple of pics while we waited.

We didn't have to wait long before being taken inside, Rachel held Lumiere (gotta admit I found the whole who wants to
carry him in a bit weird lol).

We sat in the rose gallery, our server was Shelly and she was amazing, so friendly! We ended up swapping Facebook info.

The breads were lovely.

I went for chicken but substituted the cassoulet for fries, Shelly said she's not had a single person who's ordered it like it yet and they were looking to change the menu again - let's hope they keep the chicken on there!

Sy had scallops and shrimp

Both were absolutely delicious!!

Beast came by to say hello.

I was too full so decided to skip dessert while Rachel ordered the strawberry cupcake (I think, I don't have a picture) and Sy went for the grey stuff brownie.

Sy said the lunchtime cupcake is way nicer than the brownie.

Shelly said she couldn't see me not have anything so she brought me some grey stuff to try. How sweet?! Unfortunately I am not an Oreo fan so never actually wanted to try the grey stuff :-/ but I have to say I was surprised in that I loved it!

Bill paid we went for a look at the Christmas decorations in the main hall. The tree was amazing! I loved the ornaments.

We stopped by to say hello to the Beast, Sy did a weird curtesy thing though he swears it was a bow, beast thought it was very funny! (As did I hahahahaha)

We stopped to get a picture with the mosaic though I'm not keen on the lighting here, seriously Disney sort it out lol how can anyone look good in these pictures hahaha

It was a party night which Rachel had tickets for so we had to say goodbye and head out of the park.

On the way out I spotted a girl from a Facebook page I'm on so we stopped to say hello for a few mins, but aware it was almost 7pm and the party was about to start we couldn't chat for long.

Out front we hopped on the monorail over to the contemporary. We decided to have a quick mooch round the shop on the way to the lounge.

Boys and their toys....

Up at the lounge we ordered drinks (Long Island iced tea and Virgin strawberry colada) and some more food in the pretzels #dontjudgeusweareonholiday

And before long Lauren and Bob messaged to say they were downstairs. We knew each other from the wdwforgrownups forum and we're now friends on Facebook.

We chatted for about half an hour before Anna and Edwin arrived, they were the couple we met a few years ago on the ferry over to MK from the car park.

We had such a lovely nice chatting! We went out to see the fireworks and I have to say I wasn't too impressed with Christmas wishes. Definitely the weakest compared to wishes and hallowishes. The finale was quite impressive though with the fireworks going off from all angles.

We chatted some more after the fireworks before paying up and heading back to akl.

We arrived to a bit of chaos outside and we soon realised that the Christmas decorations were being delivered and put up!

Anna and Edwin were staying at akl too so as the lounge was now closed we took them up to the seating area and we chatted some more while watching the beginning of the tree going up.

We didn't last too long before bed was calling, we finally had to call it a day at about 12:30am. Not bad considering we had been up since 7am!

Forgot we had turn down service in club level <3

Ahhh yes! Sorry I should have done the conversion into Fahrenheit! Oops lol lets just say it was hot Wink haha

Twilight check in really is fab, it's just virgin who offer it, only here at gatwick and Manchester I believe. Love getting rid of the bags and not having to worry.

Erm water kinda did leak lol it wasn't too bad though as the floor was on an angle so it drained back towards the plug. I'd probably accept another handicapped room at okw if I got one like that again. I'm actually going to try and book old Key West for us and my parents in October, I'll be requesting a handicapped room for my parents.

Thanks for reading!

I do not like HOT so 30 degrees Celsius wouldn't appeal to me at all.

How did you like the studio at OKW? We've never stayed in a studio there, just a one-bedroom.

Thread Highjack - I don't know if they still do this... but they used to pick a family each day to decorate the tree in the shop.

What a cute picture of you and Lauren!

I know you don't care for the noise, but I LOVE the concierge pool view rooms at AKL. I thought the savanna room was way too high up to be able to really enjoy it.

Day 3

Surprisingly I woke up at 7am after just 6&1/2 hours sleep, I tried sleeping a bit more but I couldn't nod off again so instead I watched some tv, wrote up some notes and then when I was suitably bored I got dressed and headed out to get some breakfast, leaving Sy sleeping. I ate some fruit and croissants in the lounge and then grabbed some more stuff to bring back to the room for Sy who woke up just as I walked back in (it may or may not have been a coincidence that I let the door shut loudly behind me... hehe).

I had a shower and washed my hair while Sy ate his breakfast. We then facetimed home to let them know we were still alive.

We got dressed and headed to Epcot, arriving at 10:45. I was surprised that it didn't actually feel that busy considering it was the beginning of Thanksgiving week, I'd read real scare stories online so I feared the worst. It felt quieter than a normal food and wine day = so pretty empty!

We had a fastpass for Spaceship Earth so we headed there first. It's a traditional first ride for us.

Our Video

We walked towards the fountains and grabbed a couple of photopass pics.

And a quick selfie

Afterwards we went over to get a return time for Test Track before heading to the World Showcase for a wander round.

We sat down watching the world go by for a bit while we waited for Lea, her cousin Alex and her son Luas to catch us up (Luas was such a cutie, might have to steal him!). They were also in Epcot today so we had kept in toouch online and agreed to meet up somewhere.

When we did finally meet we went to meet Mulan but sadly she was just finishing and not returning for a while Sad I was a bit gutted as I was wearing my Mulan top, ah well.

We walked round a bit more and eventually went for lunch in the American pavilion, a new one on me. I had the good old faithful chicken nuggets. Sy went with Alex to Japan to get some sushi, they were there and back before we had ordered and got our food :-/ I have no idea what the hold up was as there was pretty much no queue.

Food was good, the boys enjoyed their sushi too. Was lovely sitting chatting over lunch with Lea and her family. In fact I was enjoying it so much I forgot to take a pic Sad Shameful empty plate pic...

Afterwards we said goodbye and headed further round world showcase. But not before I grabbed a pic with Lea (I remembered to get one today!)

We stopped in the UK to watch a new band called Quickstep, 2 Scottish and 2 Americans, I guess its going in the right direction in that at least half of them were British now compared to the fake British band who play there (British revolution is it?). They were pretty good, we couldn't stop for long though as we were running late for our Fastpass at Soarin'. We realised yesterday at dinner that our Fastpass overlapped with Rachel so we met up at the entrance and rode together at 2:15

Sy's mum had an operation on Friday and was feeling poorly still so I tried to periscope the video so she could ride along with us, but sadly I couldn't get the internet to work in there. Instead I filmed it and sent it to her once we were outside, she said later it made her day <3

Test Track was still down as it had been for a while now so we decided to call it a day and head back to AKL - that 6&1/2 hours sleep was obviously not enough.

Back at the hotel I decided to have a nap and accidentally slept for 2 hours Stare oops! Clearly the last few days were catching up with me.

I woke up feeling a bit rough, nevertheless we got dressed for our special dinner at California Grill. CM's at the club desks gushed over our outfits *awww*

I went to grab a picture of the offerings in the lounge tonight. (sorry about the rubbish quality!)

We got some pics downstairs by the Christmas tree before hopping in the car and heading over to the Contemporary.

I was still feeling rough but trying to suppress it. We went to check in and were shown to the lifts to take us up. The lady in there ask if we had been before, when we said no she told us we were about to have the best meal of our lives. I'm all for pride in where you work but that did feel a bit pretentious I must admit.

We were shown to a window table - amazing! Sadly this is where the amazement ended. We were handed menus but to my dismay the menu had changed from what was on the Disney website - I had checked it the day before and again that afternoon to make sure there was still something I could eat. But that was no where to be seen. And now there was nothing I could eat. Craaaaaaaaaaaaap. Our waiter then came over and gave his 10 min speech on the menu without pausing for breath like he had done it a million times before (which he of course had). I managed to get a word in at the end to ask about the change in the menu, he said it had been changed for months but not updated on the website, apparently Disney is really bad for that?! I clearly looked uncomfortable about it but he didn't say anything or ask me why he just left the table. He certainly didn't make me feel like I could ask about adapting the menu to be able to eat something. I started to freak out a bit about what I was going to eat and making a scene (I hate the chef coming to the table, I don't like being the centre of attention cause of my food problems), and then of course the ill feeling I'd been suppressing came back and we had to leave Sad I spare you the details.

We went back down to grab the car from valet and headed back to AKL.

Sy went to the Mara to get some dinner and brought it up to the lounge where we sat watching some tv.

Chicken flatbread and a curried chicken 'soup'

They changed the service over to dessert while we were there, desserts were a smooth chocolate ganache and mango tarts (with the daily cookies). The Mango tarts were to die for.

Sy got a couple of beers hahaha (the most he had allllll trip).

We finally went to bed at 11pm and watched a bit of Muppets Christmas Carol.

It's making me *so* homesick! At least I have a quick trip coming up.

Robyn, you may not have felt great, but you looked marvelous! And in the future, Chef Brian (at California Grill) is a really nice guy and I know he would have worked with you to make your night amazing. bighug

But by the sounds of it you still had a lovely night Smile and the Muppet's Christmas Carroll is one of my favorite Christmas films.

Loving the trip report so far as everyone else said you and Sy looked gorgeous for your night at Cali Grill sorry it ended not so great sad I don't have any medical issues with food but i am very picky and stalk menus for restaurants to make sure there is something I will eat so from that point I do understand

from reading your highs and lows I'm sure it gets a lot better and I cannot wait to read it!

Disney's lack of updates on their websites has been a grumble of mine before as well. And Cali Grill was one of the worst meals we had in all of Disney. But I agree with everyone else...you looked great!
On our second trip to DW my husband took the first night and stayed at the resort, having a drink at the bar by the pool then ordering in pizza. It was awesome!

Day 4

Sy as usual had me up all night with his snoring (no more beers for you matey!). I got up at 7am and watched some tv. Got dressed and went for breakfast in the lounge for 8am. The lounge was super busy so we decided to bring breakfast back to our room.

I decorated our window with some stickers we brought over.

We planned a pool day but it was a bit chilly and drizzly that morning, we went out to watch the flamingoes being fed. Erm. Well it wasn't that interesting, I was expecting them to give a little talk but no they just put the food out. And the food really stank Hahahaha. We watched them eat for a bit and then went looking at the other animals.

We periscoped a bit but when the rain started to get heavier we decided to call it a day and ran for shelter.

We stopped by the lounge and grabbed some drinks and went back to the room. As it was empty I made the most of it and took a million pictures.

Sy went back to sleep as soon as we got back to the room lol I watched some tv and chatted to a few people back home.

It was still raining so I made an adr for lunch at Sanaa so we didn't have to go far.

Sy woke up from his nap at 12:30 and so went over to Kidani. The clouds had now disappeared so we decided to walk over and make the most of the sunshine.

We were early for our adr so we went out to see the animal and chatted with the CM there. We grabbed a seat in the sunshine and sat watching the animals for a while.

We then went for a quick mooch around the shop. Its a tiny shop so it didn't take long, one thing I did love was this cute thanksgiving tree outside where people could write what they were thankful for and hang it on there.

When I was in Disneyland Paris for dapper day I had met an American girl who worked at WDW part time, she was working that morning and messaged me to say she would be up for meeting so I had added her to our adr. She came over just as I was checking us in, perfect timing!

Lunch was of course amazing - it's Sanaa! Service was okay. We got the bread service to start and then Sy and I shared the curries while moe had the peri peri chicken burger. I think I might actually go for that next time as it looked lush!

We chatted with Moe over lunch, she had been working over at Ohana and turns out she met our friend Lea and Luas at breakfast! Moe is good friends with some right characters over there Wink

Moe was able to use her 40% cm discount for lunch so it only came to $50inc tip for the 3 of us, which we paid as a thanks for using her discount.

We headed out front and chatted for a bit longer before Moe had to hit the road, she was heading home to Atlanta (she had come down to work for a few days).

We said goodbye and decided to get the shuttle back over to Jambo as the clouds were now back and knowing our luck we'd get half way and end up soaked. The shuttle took a little while to come so we chatted with a lovely cm out front who's name I didn't get but she was from the Netherlands. She was soooo lovely.

Shuttle arrived just as the rain started - good call waiting. Back at Jambo we went in and met up in the lobby with Lea and Luas. We grabbed some pics in front of the tree.

We went up to the lounge and asked if it would be ok for Lea and Luas to sit with us in there as it was empty, they said it was fine cause there was no one there. We chatted for ages.

I disappeared off to speak to the cast member who checked us in (Andrea), as were checking Into a value studio after our club level stay, the value rooms can be any view, savanna, pool or car park. I asked her if she would make a note on the reservation for us to go into a savanna view if possible, well she went one better than that and put us into one and locked us into it so we couldn't be moved! Yay! I stayed chatting with her for a few mins and we got onto the subject of British chocolates and how much she loved them, we had brought over a massive box of them for the club level staff as they aren't allowed to accept tips. As we were talking about them I told Andrea and went to get them from our room. You'd have thought I'd given them $1000, they were SO happy. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside <3

I went back to chat with Lea and Luas and we showed them our room, in the room I noticed our first ever towel animal! (I'd missed it when I ran to get the chocolates before cause I was rushing). Cute little mouse.

We then went for a wander round the resort to see the animals and Luas played in the playground. We stayed out as long as we could but the rain started to get heavier again so we had to come back inside.

We watched some flamingoes getting rather friendly, the poor girl just buried her head in the water and pretended it wasn't happening hahahaha

We came back up the room and it had been turned down already, I'd not put any money or chocolates out! Its ok, I put more the next day Wink We also had this little beauty left next to the bed!!

Honestly I was so blown away I cried a little <3 I went to the desk to say thank you. Andrea said she had looked to see if they had anything dancing related. How sweet that she remembered and tried to find something for us.

I grabbed my handbag and we headed off to Disney Springs. We gave Lea and Luas a lift as they wanted to do some shopping and we were going to meet up with Claire who we know from back home.

We parked in the new parking garage on level 5, it felt like a long way to get to marketplace. We mooches about the shops for a bit but I felt rubbish Sad boo. We said goodbye to Lea and Luas and headed to the Lego shop to say hello to Claire, we didn't stay for long (and I forgot to get a pic dammit), they were off to meet Santa soon! Plus I felt poorly.

We headed back to the car slowly. The Christmas decorations were starting to go up.

Sy was feeling hungry so we decided to go to steak and shake at the crossroads. We decided to eat in. Sy went for 4 sliders which he said were decidedly disappointing. I had some chicken tenders and we got some onion rings to share. Both had soft drinks and it came to $16 inc tip. Crazy cheap!

Sorry I had eaten some of mine before I remembered to take a pic.

We left and headed back to the hotel. I still wasn't feeling well so Sy went to the lounge to get a dessert on his own while I got ready for bed. I was asleep by 9:30pm. I woke up at 11:45 and Sy was still awake watching tv. I went right back to sleep though and didn't wake up till the next morning.

Sy's pics of desserts

Awww thank you. I've worked with Brian before to make a custom cake and he was awesome. Maybe I'll go back there, but I'll go the day before to see the actual menu rather than just look online Wink

I'm pretty annoyed about the whole menu thing, not gonna lie. That's crappy you didn't have a good experience there Sad we had a terrible experience last year in the yachtsmans, it's such a disappointment when you read such great things online.

Day 5

Woke up at 6:45 after a nice long sleep (yay no snoring!). Sy was still sleeping so I killed time writing up trip notes and watching some TV. Sy woke up eventually at about 8. We got dressed and headed to the lounge for breakfast at 9am. It wasn't quite as mad busy today so we ate in the lounge.

Full up we grabbed the car keys and made our way to the outlets. It was a glorious day!

First up were the outlets at Vineland. I like to think I didn't go too mad, I got a new lip gloss in Clarins and of course some stuff in the Disney store. I did have a mini meltdown in the Disney store however eek The Dooney bag I had been coveting for months after seeing it online, well it had gone to the outlets! And not in a good way! They didn't have the bag shape I wanted sad But I knew cause the pattern was there it meant they all had been discontinued! Nooooooo! I found a CM and asked about the letter carrier bag in the same pattern, she thought they had some in but they'd since sold out. Wahhhhh sad She said I could try checking back in case they got anymore in but don't hold my breath. (The light blue beachy theme was the one I was after).

We then spent a small fortune in Ralph Lauren on clothes for Sy. I didn't go mad, Sy however more than made up for it haha. The girl at the check out asked if I had any emails or vouchers to use, I remembered I had signed up for their emails last time so I had a quick look and turned out I had 15% off! So nice of her to ask and then wait for me to find it. Can never get over how nice shop assistants are in America.

Sy came out laden down with bags haha but not yet completely shopped out... There was a shirt he really liked but the only one in his size had a stain on so we decided to go to the other outlet to try and see if they had it in. Off we head to the other end of International Drive.

It took an absolute AGE to park, we drove round for sooooo long - not gonna lie I was about ready to call it a day! We got parked in the end though and tbh it wasn't that busy once we were walking around.

Sadly they didn't have any of the shirts Sy was after but he managed to find enough other stuff he wanted... Once again we left the shop with enough bags...

We didn't really walk around anywhere else as it was getting on for lunchtime and we were shopped out. Luckily right around the corner there was a sweet tomatoes so we made our way there for munchies.

Lunch was so yummy and a steal at under $10 each (with a coupon I'd signed up for).

I grabbed one of their worlds smallest ice cream cones on the go and ate it in the car on the way back to the hotel

Back in the room Sy went online and saw pictures people had posted from MK. Omg! eek eek We swiftly cancelled our Fastpasses for that evening and made plans to go to totwl instead - think those Thanksgiving crowds were finally here lol

(this was a picture posted online)

As we now had time on our hands we decided to go for a swim. The pool felt quite chilly so being the wimp that I am I tried the hot tub instead, only that was cold too :-/ hmmm. I decided to try the smaller hot tub, I could guess this one was hot cause it was jam packed with people lol. I was right, it was lovely and toasty. I stayed there till Sy finished his swim and came to find me. The sun had started to set and I discovered that it gets pretty chilly at night in the winter... Especially when you had to get out of a warm hot tub and dive for a towel! Brrrrrr!

Back in the room we got showered and dressed and then hit the lounge for appetisers. This was by far my favourite night, it was some sort of sweetcorn mash topped with a spicy durban chicken. AMAZING. (the other thing was a lamb stew or something, I didn't eat that lol)

We had a bit of time before fireworks so we decided to head to target for a quick mooch. Didn't really buy much but it was nice to look around.

We then drove over to BLT. Oh boy it was chilly up there tonight! Brrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrr! Sy was in shorts - crazy boy. We went into the lounge and grabbed a seat. We ordered our drinks and some pretzels (cause it's the law, you have to get them on every visit hehe).

We went outside to watch the fireworks 5 minutes before it started, we got a great spot. We periscoped it for those back home to watch Smile

Wishes were on at 9pm so by the time we had finished our drinks and paid up it was 9:45. Back to akl and straight to bed Smile

I was really hoping to meet you and Sy when we were there for Thanksgiving, but unfortunately I wasn't feeling or walking well that trip and all our plans kind of flew out the window. Day 6

We woke up at 7am after a nice long sleep. As it was a nice day and we were up early we decided to change our horse and carriage ride booked for today to a few days later and head to Clearwater instead. I popped to the concierge desk and they changed it no problem.

We grabbed some breakfast and brought it back to the room as the lounge was busy again. We quickly munched our way through and got ready to go.

On the way to get the car I stopped by the shop in AKL, there's a lovely lady who works there who I always chat to. Her name's Gita, she's from India originally I believe but she lived in the UK close to me for many years so we chatted once about that and she's remembered me ever since, I always like to stop by and say hello. I had brought her over some chocolates so I wanted to give them to her. (I had tried a few times already but she hadn't been working). Lovely Gita was so happy I brought her some of her favourites - bounty bars, I had just grabbed a selection but I'll remember she likes those for the next trip Wink

I caught up with Sy at the car and we were on the road by 9:15.

The drive always tricks me, I feel like 1 hours 30 mins is gonna be wrong cause we get almost all the way there after about 45 mins, and then those last 45 mins on slow roads take FOREVER!

We eventually arrived at 10:50 and parked up in the marina, we were just in time for the first Little Toot ride of the day. However not enough time for me to visit a restroom first :-/ there is a little emergency toilet onboard but I held on haha

We had a lovely time on the boat though we didn't see too many dolphins today, they were all feeding! Note to self, do a later tour in future Wink

Once we got off and I found a restroom we headed down pier 60. It was such a beautiful day. I was a little put off by the amount of seagulls, a poor girl tried to eat something and they properly attacked her Stare eek! I mean yeah, don't be silly and try eating with them all around... but even so she looked petrified lol.

We had a little paddle in the sea, it felt really chilly!

It was just after lunchtime now and breakfast felt like a looooooong time ago. We usually eat in Crabby Bill's but we fancied trying somewhere new so we headed back to the car and had a look for somewhere good nearby, I got out my mobile and searched. I found a few nice looking places a little drive away so we hit the road and headed up the road.

On the drive over to Clearwater I chatted with Peter, the guy who created the Facebook group we help admin. Well he and his wife were on their way to Clearwater too! We had talked about meeting up but that was hours ago and we hadn't heard from them since. Just as we found the place to go for lunch we ran into them. We decided to have lunch together Smile

Lunch was super lush, really rated this place and will Definitely go back there. Blue Sky it was called. Server was lovely too. Our bill came to $38 inc tip so not too bad.

We grabbed a couple of pics outside in the massive chair, as you do... Haha

It was now 3pm and we decided to call Clearwater a day and make our way back to Disney. Took 2 hours getting back as we seemed to hit a lot of traffic. I may or may not have slept half the way back.... We had to stop for petrol (gas) on the way too.

Back at AKL we headed to our room as I wanted to wash my hair, it take a while cause I have soooo much hair. Just as I was finished with the hair we hitting appetiser time! Perfect timing eh Wink

That was a sausage casserole thing which Sy loved and a chicken dish served in a mini bread bowl.

They had some strawberry soup out too, they tried to pass it off as the same stuff served in 1900 park fare. Let me tell you, it was NOT the same stuff. Here's a pic of me with it before I actually tasted....

See how happy I look? The excitement behind the eyes at some of that lovely strawberry soup... That is not the same look as was on my face afterwards!! Sy didn't catch a picture of that but it would have looked something like this...

Kirsten Chenoweth probably looks way prettier than I was haha

I mean WTH? Why did they do this to me? Lying saying its the same stuff. Pffft!!! This had a load of basil in it! Why do Disney like putting strawberry and basil together??!! They did it in Palo on the Dream, delicious panne cotta dessert and then they go ahead and RUIN it with a strawberry and basil sorbet. Its yuk! Sort it out Disney hehehe

Feeling disgusted we decided to head back to the room for a bit, hung out for a while sitting on the balcony in the warm air, before we knew it, it was dessert time in the lounge! Hehehe

We watched some TV after and were in bed by 10pm. This was not the sort of Disney vacation we were used to, we spent a lot of time chilling out and relaxing!
