The Disney Cruise Line ships were recognized once again as being amongst the top large cruise ships in the world by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler in their annual poll.

Disney Cruise Line 2014 Itineraries Begin in Florida

Disney Cruise Line has announced it's sailing dates and itineraries for the 2014 season! The white sand beaches and beautiful blue waters of Castaway Cay will take center stage during the first half of the year as all four Disney ships sailing from Florida ports. The Disney Magic will return to Port Canaveral, Fla., joining the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, while the Disney Wonder makes it's home in Miami.

And For Every Room, An Ocean View

It truly is the magic of Disney. Somehow, Disney Imagineers have made every single cabin on the new Disney Dream an ocean-view cabin including those on the inside.

Disney Dream Christened

It was a day of magic for Disney Cruise Line's long-awaited newest ship. January 19 saw the Disney Dream christened in a lavish and grand ceremony which featured celebrities, top Disney executives and the Mouse himself.

Multi-talented actress and singer Jennifer Hudson was on hand as the Dream's godmother. A very fitting choice was Ms. Hudson as her Oscar- and Grammy-winning career started in 2003 aboard the Dream's sister ship, the Wonder.

Disney Dream Officially Becomes a Disney Ship

Meyer Werft, the German company that is built the ship, has officially handed the Disney Dream over to Disney in a "traditional maritime ceremony." The flag of the company was lowered and replaced with the Disney flag to signify the ship's change of ownership.

The ship will be captained by Tom Forberg, who has been with Disney Cruise Lines for fifteen years. In fact Forberg launched both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and is no stranger to sailing on a new Disney vessel.

Disney Dream Lands in Hamburg, Germany

The newest Disney cruise ship, the Disney Dream, arrived in the port of Hamburg, Germany, at 3am local time on November 22nd, 2010. Most recently, the ship has been moving along the River Ems to the North Sea, where it's been undergoing sea trials during the testing phase of its construction process.

It will be held in dry dock this week, and move on next to Bremerhaven where it will be delivered (officially) to Disney on December 9th. There, final supplies will be loaded onto the ship and crew members will join up with the ship for its final sail to Port Canaveral, FL., where it's scheduled to arrive just after the New Year.

Photo Tour: AquaDuck on the Disney Dream

A friend of ours just returned from a cruise on the brand new Disney Dream cruise ship and sent over this great review of the AquaDuck -- the cruise industry's first water coaster on a ship!

Thanks to WDWFG for the chance to rave about this incredible water coaster. The AquaDuck may seem like a kids' ride to some, but I was surprised to note that the concept was terrifying to many. Not a lot of folks want to hang out above the ocean with only a thin piece of plastic between them and an 150 foot drop!
