Top 5 Spots for Mexican Food at Walt Disney World

We like our top 5 lists here at WDW for Grownups and today we're going to check out our top five favorite spots for Mexican food (and drinks!) when you're at Disney World. The majority of the locations (four out of five) are located in Epcot, but you'll also want to drop by Disney Springs.

Favorite Eats and Drinks from Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion

This week we're celebrating Cinco de Mayo and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than with some of my favorite things to eat and drink from Epcot's Mexico pavilion! The pavilion is home to two table service restaurants, a quick service spot, and an amazing tequila bar so the options for great food and drink are plenty.

Dinner with a View at Epcot’s San Angel Inn

Every time I've visited Epcot's Mexico pavilion to enjoy the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros I always say "next time we'll eat at the San Angel Inn." And every time we'd return we wouldn't make reservations for a meal at the waterside restaurant. That all changed during our Thanksgiving-week vacation when we finally had the chance to enjoy dinner at Mexico's table service restaurant.

Top 5 Things To Love about Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion

Epcot's World Showcase is one of our favorite spots to spend an afternoon (or three) when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. There is always something new and fun to discover, but there are also tried and true favorites in each pavilion. Today we're heading to one of our favorite spots, the Mexico pavilion.

Dine Inside Mexico's Pyramid at San Angel Inn Restaurante

Inside the pyramid in Epcot's Mexico Pavilion you'll find a bustling courtyard held in perpetual twilight. The lantern lit square holds a bubbling fountain and artisan vendor carts selling trinkets from across Mexico. Tucked in the back of this courtyard, beneath a Mayan pyramid at the edge of the River of Time guests will find the San Angel Inn Restaurante.

Start Your Tour of Mexico inside the Heart of a Pyramid

When entering World Showcase from Future World you have two directional choices. You can tour clockwise and start in Mexico or you can tour in a counterclockwise direction starting in Canada.

Today we're going to visit Mexico, which is one of the more unique pavilions in World Showcase. What makes this pavilion different from the others is that aside from the outside dining on the lagoon and a few shops, the rest of the pavilion is inside the Mesoamerican pyramid that is the centerpiece of the pavilion.

Sail Around Mexico on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

When you're looking for a ride where you can rest your weary feet for a few minutes, head over to the Mexico Pavilion and hop on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. This nearly seven-minute boat ride takes guests on an adventure through Mexico as Jose Carioca and Panchito try to find their missing amigo, Donald Duck.

But before we board the boat, let's talk a little bit about the Mexico Pavilion.

Date Night in Epcot's Mexico Pavilion

Mexico! When I think of Mexico I think of the Food, the Music, and the Tequila. All of these things can make for a fantastic night at Epcot's Mexico Pavilion in the World Showcase. Situated on the left hand side at the beginning of the promenade, the Mexico Pavilion beckons you for fun more than romance, but it still makes for a fantastic destination for your Disney Date Night.
